As a former Marine I have to say I teared up because of you. You showed more love for our country then the younger generation has ever showed, and you showed it in one video.
Thank you for your service sir! 😊
I did too i teared up on this. Gob bless this girl.
I ashamed that I never learned this until the age of 63.
That's a direct reflection on the school system I went through.
I am appalled by this & I want to see 🙈 that current leader of this nations teaching union forced 2 resign if fire her then put her in jail 4 treasonous strategy on liberal grooming of our future leaders.
Thank you for your service better not nobody ever disrespecting flag in front of me I was never in the service but I lived around Eglin Air Force Base and home probably know where that is and some of my best friends have has gave their lives a real Patriot and thank you for your service you and your family
During the 14 years of my service in the Army, I was always proud to be serving and loved this song. But I can actually honestly say that only after I separated service did I start crying every time I heard this play….. Such a powerful way our country was formed and such a sad way that our current administration is destroying it….
So many other countries have questioned why we fly our flag everywhere and are so patriotic. In the big picture, we are the babies on the block and have achieved what was said couldn’t be done. I come from generations of servicemen. Thank you all and your families sacrifice as well. I pray we survive this current government who is using the very laws that were fought so hard to give them the right to be free and yet now seem bent on her destruction. Please pray for our country! Long may our banner yet wave.
I’m a first generation American 🇺🇸. I love this country!! We must protect it at all costs and never let the founding fathers down!!
you gotta be kidding me, all the murdering and driving people off their land. killing whole towns one after the other to steal the wealth of Native Blacks, then filling it with water as a man made lake over and over again; is nothing to be proud of.
Too late, darling. They've already smeared the men who made the country great and destroyed their reputations and statues.
We Shall Prevail! 🙏 🇺🇸 ❤
You are ours now,
We will NOT take down that FLAG, nor take another "anthem" WE have got to oust the indoctrination of decades of hater/aggressor nations people and those others that push it and have lowered our Standards so low.
Yes as others I shed tears. I'm 75 years old, a veteran and ashamed of what our country as become. This gives me hope.
YES ! THERE ARE STILL PATRIOTS HERE ! THANKYOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR !
Our country is, sadly, exactly what it was established to be. It is a place for men who were disregarded in their own homeland to make money and be elevated above others, any others, at any cost. We have no real culture to help people make life decisions and still make money without regard for human life.
Have faith sir. Thank you. There are still good men born.
What is has become? You mean all the malevolence it did.
We are 'merely' in a new period of trial and tribulation, to test the American spirit.
I’m a NAVY VETERAN, I thank you for your support and for your video. I just hope that the young generations start to REALIZE what the UNITED STATES of AMERICA FLAG 🇺🇸 STANDS FOR. When I was in the WORLDS GREATEST NAVY. Every time we were heading home ( U.S.A.) after a 6 month deployment they would play 2 songs over the load speakers on the ship The STAR SPANGLE BANNER and Lee Greenwood’s ( GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.) when you get a chance listen to it. When we heard playing we knew that we were going HOME 💯🇺🇸💯🇺🇸
Beautiful, emotional, I teared up too. Proud to have served my country for 22 years.
Thank you for your service, Mr . Magnolia!🇺🇸

Thats why our flag is to never touch the ground. Great reaction vid!!
It is also why we never tip the flag .
@@richardjosephus6802 it's also why nothing ever flies to the right of it.
Not true, most of this narrative is incorrect we don't let the flag touch the ground because of ex-slave, civil war hero and great American William Harvey Carney.
when I was about 5 or 6, (back in 1954) I let the flag touch the ground and some older kids read me the riot act. Dont know if they still do that.

As a veteran, a granddaughter, daughter, niece, sister and even a mother of veterans, I thank you for the emotional show of compassion, regard and respect you’ve given for all those who gave everything for our country especially at a time when many Americans are spitting on, stomping on, burning and kneeling over our flag. Thank you!
Thanks u and ur family for ur all military service. I also served 28 years in the Army. I stand with all military veterans.
I'm an American, nearly 64, and saw this Star Spangled Banner video a few years ago. I cried like a baby, as I am now. I've always been fiercely patriotic, and yet had never known the true story about our National Anthem. This should be required viewing for all high school students, and a must-see for all American adults.
This what makes the WOKE So bad
ESPECIALLY DISSING THE 🇺🇸in sports
I thought this video was required in our schools to graduate ? How far have we slid off the deep end in today's society ?
I agree it should . As this may change a lot of their leftist brain washed ideologies that they have been fed by the lefts negativity.🇺🇸👍
We must show this to our children if it is not being shared in school. 🇺🇸❤🙏 Looks like homeschooling is necessary these days.
I totally agree with you, I always cry when I hear this REAL story of our national anthem.
I am a 54 year old Australian.
I first heard the story of the fight to keep the flag in flight about five years ago. I got goosebumps then and got them again watching today.
It really is a shame for the mess America is in today.

Sarah, the narrator is right, we are taught as children the National Anthem, but I had never heard the story behind the song, although the words do tell the story, so I won’t ever hear it again without knowing the determination and selflessness of those who died for freedom ❤😢. Thank you so much Sarah, it’s a bit sad that you, a girl from Nigeria who moved to Germany is letting me and anyone else who is American and didn’t know, what the true story is. You would have before the 60s. In the mid-to-late sixties when the government got involved with the schools they started erasing history. If you are ignorant of History you are doomed to repeat it. The history of that flag there's some reason I become so angry When I See This Young Generation disrespecting it, burning it, walking on it. If someone tried it in front of me I'm sure I would go to jail. Because I know how much blood it took to pay for what that piece of cloth represents
We did, still bring tears to the eyes.
Sarah you may not be an American “on paper” but you embody in your spirit what it MEANS to BE an AMERICAN - so much more than, sadly, many “born” Americans. I welcome you as a fellow American - thank you for sharing this video and your heartfelt patriotism!
As a Portuguese myself, I love and respect the United States of America the greatest country on earth. It breaks my heart to see so many people who call themselves Americans, disrespect and try to destroy my beloved USA. May God bless and protect America.

@@annbarrosoNow here the rest of the story. Francis Scott key was a hardcore racists. He was from a long line of plantation owners who denied a whole race of people of their freedom.
Francis Scott Key once bragged as the District Attorney of Washington DC that he would never prosecute a white person for any crime committed against a black person and that included rape and murder.
If you have any doubts about how Francis Scott Key felt about the black slaves just go to the third verse of the National Anthem. The song brags about how, slaves have nowhere to hide and are even afraid to run away. The song brags that slaves that dare resist, will know the gloom of the grave. Just thought you all should know.
I am 71 yrs old and I remember saying the pledge of allegiance in school an hearing the story behind it. I was in the Army for 13 years, I always get so mad when I see our beautiful flag disrespected. When I hear this song I am reminded why I joined the Army. To serve and to pay homage to the brave men and women who served before me. I saw the original video years ago and bawled like a baby. I love this country and I love our flag.

These brave men died for our FREEDOM. We shouldn't lose that mentality.
Thank you and I think that I can speak for most Americans when I say we love you, your respect and your heart felt appreciation, thank you.
Her heart is in the right place but she's ignorant. Most Americans don't even know that Francis Scott Key was a dedicated bigot. As district attorney for Washington d.c. he openly bragged that he would never prosecute a white person for any crime committed against a black person and that included rape and murder.
Francis Scott Key was a descendant of a long line of slave plantation owners. He himself was a slave plantation owner.
It seems everyone ignores the third verse of the national anthem for good reason. They don't want you to see that it's actually a very racist song and the reason it was picked as the national anthem.
Look at the third verse. The song brags that slaves have nowhere to hide and are afraid to run away. The song threatens any slave that resists with the Gloom of the grave.
The song is a slap in the face to ever African-American whose ancestors were slaves. America the Beautiful would be a much better representation.
I'm the one American that is suspicious of her. She seems to be anti African-American based on her other videos.
I lost interest in the national anthem when I came to understand the third verse. The song brags about how slaves have nowhere to hide and are even afraid to run away. The song goes on to suggest that any slave that resist, will know the gloom of the grave. Oh yeah they were fighting for freedom and at the same time fighting to oppress and maintain slavery.
I haven't cried in a long time but I couldn't hold it back. Thank you so much for reminding me how much I love my country ❤️
Your reaction was beautiful! Thank you for reminding to be proud to be an American!

I'm a 60 year old vet, and I've never heard it put in this context before. Like other who watched this I to teard up. This is what they need to be teaching in schools nowadays.
Thank you for this. It was beautiful.
I'm sure Ron DeSantis will cancel the third verse of the national anthem. Francis Scott key goes on to brag about the success of slavery and in the third verse. He proclaims that slaves have nowhere to hide and are even afraid to run away. He brags that any slave that resists will know the gloom of the grave. This is someone that didn't care about freedom for all men his only interest was making money. Oh and by the way he was a plantation owner from a long line of plantation owners.
This brings tears to my eyes. I have heard the story before behind our National Anthem. It should be shown to every American in school, so they understand what it truly means. God bless America! We need it more than ever 🙏🇺🇸
but if we taught that it might disrupt the narrative of the enslaved negro.
Yes, something Americans can be proud of. An America worth fighting for. American sacrifice for our future. Please don't let these leftist discredit our Patriots or Homeland.

They picked the wrong song to represent America. America the Beautiful would be better. In fact I think they picked it because they knew Francis Scott Key was a bigot and a slave plantation owner. No one seems to notice that Francis Scott Key use the third verse of the national anthem to brag about slavery. The song proclaims that slaves have nowhere to hide and are afraid to run away. The song brags that any slave that resist will know the groom of the grave. Doesn't sound like a song dedicated to freedom and Justice to me. I had my granddaughters sit and watch. I was surprised they had not learned the story in school. They knew the song well. But not the story behind it. Thank you for your video.
It is an insult to every African American in this country whose ancestors were slaves.
I use to cry just hearing the song until I realized the true history of Francis Scott Key and look closely at the entire song. Francis Scott Key was a descendant of a long line of slave plantation owners. He himself was a slave owner. He used the song to brag about slavery. In the third verse he proclaims slaves have nowhere to hide and are afraid to run away. He goes on to brag that any slave that resist will know the Gloom of the grave. The song is actually an insult to every African-American whose ancestors were slaves in this country.

Every American should watch this. It really should be shown in our schools. I lived too many years before learning the history of this song.
Why? The Indian Wars were intentional, government genocide of the Indigenous Americans. These wars spanned over 100 years and were reignited after the end of Reconstruction. British invaders murdered innocents then and their offsprings condone the modern slaughter of innocents.
I learned it too young so was so bored with history class. It should be taught in either the last year of middle school or early highschool so the young Americans can listen and understand it better than a kid who was taught it in Elementary school!! Which was when it was taught to me.

Thank you for your service, sir. This story always makes me cry. I remember as a little kid in school, we ALWAYS gathered in the courtyard first thing in the morning and said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and then sang the national anthem. Fond memories, wish more schools did that these days.
The Black version didn't make the Black people cry.
When you teach it in school should they tell the students that Francis Scott Key was a a descendant of and himself a slave plantation owner? Should Americans examine the third verse which brags about slavery. The song proclaims that, "Slaves Have Nowhere To Hide and Are Afraid To Run Away". The song threatens any slave that resists with, " The Gloom Of The Grave".
African Americans should realize the song takes the opportunity to insult their ancestors.
Francis Scott Key served as the District Attorney for Washington DC. He bragged that he would never prosecutor a white person for a crime committed against a black person. That included rape and murder. There were free black people in Washington DC but that's not Freedom when you have to be worried about being raped or murdered and there would be no consequences.
Francis Scott Key's history and the insult he included directed at African Americans was the reason this song was selected.

Today, we are reconciled with our cousins in the UK but one difference you will see is that all over America - at government buildings, at schools, at stadiums and a the homes of average citizens you will see that star spangled banner waving. School children learn the national anthem and we sing it, not only on the fourth of July but at local sporting events and special occasions. It is a symbol of freedom to the nation.
Yes, it's true it waves, and signing happens, but so any of them know the truth behind it. Do they sing it because it's always been done or because they know and understand what and why it waves and we sing?
Too many time is hear people sing Our national anthem and change its words, distort the meaning. As Americans are we not better than that?
Please I am not putting you down, it is that my heart and soul brakes for America and what we are losing.

I feel that this is the reason we are so patriotic over here in USA! I’ve heard several British reactors say that they don’t see as many individuals have flags at their homes as we do here in the USA.
Its not that Brits arent patriotic its just not about obsessed about the flag. It would have some different connotations in the U.K. It would be seen as more of a sign of nationalism. As the other country that was a bit flag obsessed and put them everywhere was Nazi Germany.
However if you want to see British Patriotism google 'last night of the proms'. That patriotic British songs. Its done every year.
