- Jon and Daenerys arrive at Winterfell | Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 1 | HD
How do you guys feel about this whole scene? For me, it was pretty epic.
Like and share this to spread the GoT community!
Dragons always have the best entrance....🔥🔥
Indeed!
They got done dirty :(
After watching HotD i now realize how huge Drodon is for such a young dragon.
@@nicolasviard2252 They chained them inside the dragon pit and they shrunk in size. Vhagar managed to grow bigger because he lived free for a while like Dany's dragons (except when she chained Viserion and Rhaegal making them smaller than Drogon).
The writers totally ignored Daenerys’ vision of being in the throne room and it being destroyed and covered in snow.
This scene is so epic. It shows you the regality of the Targaryans and a portion of their power and how immense it is.
Some had more power with less than that
@@mabilleaudrey2154like who?
@@mabilleaudrey2154some had more power then dragons?
@@Loranvel yes they have a brain and actually can use it xD
@mabilleaudrey2154 I don't want to seem mean...but....I agree. Tywin Lannister ended two houses...on his own. Not "House Lannister" Tywin did. He did this without the aid of weapons of mass destruction. Westeros feared this man.
Daemon was partially right when he said dragons gave them their power, because without them, they were vanquished.
Dragons are cool, but, you need more than that in order to retain that power.
Can’t believe we had this epic scene....... only for neither of them to end up on the throne. God I can’t believe they ruined this show
and so much death to never find out villains intentions and who he was
Three eyed raven was the true villian
it's a tragedy story... in a Shakespearean tragedy, usually good things do not happen to the main characters
Bran mad at u😂
@@andrewk8817 that's fine, doesn't excuse the shitty writing, the show failed to convince us that Dany could do what she did, regardless of omens, that's also why they killed Jora Mormont off, he would have stopped her
The way Jon says "Northerners don't trust outsiders" and then the dragons swoop in and Dany's like TRUST THIS BITCHES!!!
It’s actually a very stupid sentence in the context that “the outsider” was a woman who rode 2000 miles to save them from the incarnation of Death
@@andreserra4094 right??
@@TheRAH14 right.
@@andreserra4094 And then try and rul them.
Yeah. Well they weren't saying that once the Dragons had a taste of a Norther Winter.
This march in is soooo epic. Jon and Dany riding side by side like the bad asses they are. And that random yelling just makes it even cooler. And I love the way Arya looks at Jon. Like she is so proud, happy and seeing him again felt unreal to her
"Make way to the Queen"
More like cuck and Queen
I love how they used Robert Baratheons theme when he entered winterfell in the first season 😯
It’s still one of my favorite parts of the soundtrack
It is King's theme.
Both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon established that the theme was the King's theme rather than Robert's, or even house Baratheon's. It's used for Viserys Targaryen in HOTD, too, and for Tommen in GoT when he surprisingly emerges from the Sept with Margery after the Tyrells and Jaime Lannister confront the High Sparrow.
@@breadonitsown8950 when did it play for king viserys in HOTD cause i just can't recall a scene with it playing
@@TheNemisisx some notes of it appeared when he walked to the throne as a cripple in episode 8 and in the beginning when he was chosen as the new successor to king jaeharys
Daenerys looks so cute smiling at her dragons
And a little bit like a psycho smiling at the small folk being terrified. 😂
After watching several episodes of GoT, anyone else actually do realize how huge Drogon is for such a young dragon?
he lived freely. its why he grew so fast.
They didn't skimp on feeing him.
Poor dragon's not gonna live long.
Actually drogon is half the age of vermax when we see him burning the goat in dragon pit but the drogon is nearly the size of meleys we have see in episode 9 but meleys is 80 years old where drogon is 6 years the growth of drogon and other 2 was insane
@@durgavaraprasad5723 keep in mind that those dragons were kept in cages most of the time. The show points out that dragons grow smaller in captivity.
Love how dany is wearing white/silver in here she just shines so much and with that silver hair. Such a queen ✨
My absolute favourite Scene in Season 8... One one of the few scenes I like...
I remember watching this episode early in the morning before work (to avoid spoilers) with my siblings and being so hyped. This scene helped build that hype. It's well done.
The first 2 episodes of Season 8 are much closer to the quality of other seasons, tbh, and have a lot of good conversations. Shows what could have been achieved in general if they didn't rush it. Sam being told what happened to his brother was 🔥
The way the Dany-Sansa rivalry was handled was the only thing I remember disliking early on.
@@idakev the writing in those scenes is garbage though. The various cock jokes and inconsistencies make Wattpad writers more competent
Just like season one,
Awful dialogue though
The subtle difference in reactions to the dragons by Sansa and Arya is interesting.
Arya looked in awe and excited to see the dragons, but not the least bit scared or concerned. It kind of reminded me how fascinated she was by them back in season 2 when talking to Tywin.
Sansa’s expression went from one of amazement and fear to one of great concern, maybe even with a little bit of anger.
Arya saw them and was like wtf, then OH FUCK YEAHHH we got this now
At this pont Sansa was determined to keep the North under its own rule. They were an obvious threat. As was Dany, especially since Jon Snow was in love with her.
Sansa could neverrrr. She knows Dany is powerful because of her dragons and that made her jealous and angry.
I absolutely despise S8 Sansa. 🙄 She was such a bitter, narcissistic, unappreciative brat whose only concern was actually not for the North but instead herself. There really was no difference between S1 Sansa and this Sansa. Despite all that she had endured, her greatest desire never changed and that was to be queen. Dumb and Dumber really could've made her a great character but just like the rest, they turned her into an unintelligent waste of potential.
My theory is that she actually wanted this whole thing to happen, she told others on purpose so that maybe Jon and Dany can fight it out "in her head that was smart" and if one wins they become king and she becomes ruler of the north. She's such a bad character that didnt think ab the realm. Hopefully the new Jon snow series makes sure that S7 & 8 were just a dream of Bran.
LOL..I absolutely LOVE how Daenerys's facial and neck expression has that swag to it...LIKE YEAH ..there is a new BIOTCH in town muthafukkas".....lmfao...when her babies fly over and she is a proud mama looking up at them...
that is the worst and most primitive possible way to describe what happened in this video
Best description ever! Felt the same way
the fact that Dany went through all 7 seasons fighting to get her families throne back only for the writers to decide that they would just kill her off and make her a power-hungry villain is crazy
Yes
From season 7 to the end I couldnt stand Daenerys
They ruined her
It's not that crazy (look who raised her) Sometimes kids do become like their parents. Maybe if she didn't have so much death and abuse around her she would have been different
@@VDAM1984 but not in that short time. If you want to change it, give it more time so the character changes that radically
Arya must have been going through a rollercoaster of emotions in this scene
When arya saw the hound wtf he is alive 😂😂😂
I don’t know if she was happy or confused when she saw him
Something about the steps of the Unsullied on the snow. I love it.
Love how seeing Jon took Arya's breath away. She wants to to go to him yet stops herself. Arya knows this is not the time or place and home is just up the road. Then the absolute joyous astonishment on her face seeing Drogon and Rhaegal!! Great scene!!
If you don't get impressed with her army, then you must be with her air force⚡
@@mabilleaudrey2154 Who did? Danny incenerated the slavers. Even if there were nobody left in Essos of her people (Daario stayed and probably plenty of her forces to govern the cities), the population still have gained their freedom

Maisie is so good in this scene. Conveys so much, so many different feelings and emotions without saying a single word.
They both should have taken the throne together they had such a great potential for an amazing ending
All cities Dany taken were taken again just after they left them. A true queen keep them even if she isn't here.
not like first time targarian does incest things. like aegon marring his 2 sisters. And that practique keep hapening in the books for long time. So idk why she cant marry his newfew XD it has stark blood so the targaryan gen will be a bit less concentrated XD
Yeah but their babies would have been inbred and weird
well thats exactly why the targarian were mads, or like cersei and jaimy son, Jofrey he had mental troubles cause of incest ^^@@zedwhyex
Noo both were bad Monarchs one didn't know how to be one and the other didn't want to.
One of my favourite scenes in the whole show. Especially in the end.. Goosebumps and the thought "The dragons are back in Westeros". It's a damn shame they ruined the rest of the season
This is the biggest boss scene i have ever seen this is how a ruler comes in with her army marching in order and disciplined with your dragons flying above you cant beat that! There are very few scenes that season 7 and 8 that i like this is one of them the others is olenas deatg savegry, lannister army burned, the white walker getting his own dragon, the music in the long night, and some parts of burning of kings landing. There are also some dialouge moments i did like more in s7 then s8... some of you think this is long but i can assure you my dislikes will be 10x the length and thats lowballing
Yeah, she walks in like a boss. But look at it from a northeners pov. They had just elected Jon to rule them. She took that crown from his head. They had a choice she steamrolled it. She makes it seem to be so nice and generous of her to show up to the fight against the dead but really, it's the bare minimum, especially considering she calls herself protector of the realm. She's a tyrant, an opressor who refuses to be held accountable for her familys actions but still insist on her familys titles
Daenerys felt uncomfortable..Drogon sensed it
And made it presence like
‘Be nice to my mom ‘ ❤
I love like Drogon is the only doing noise, he just go down because of Dany, Rhaegal follow him, but Drogon is the only one like: "Don't you dare look my mother that way ever again."
LOOK AT THIS SIZE OF AN ARMY SHEESH This should be the amount of army Ned brought to him when he went to Kings Landing lol
Arya's facial expressions lol. She went from (seeing Jon)😍 "My big bro, I'm so proud, can't wait to meet up with him..." To (seeing the Hound) 😒 "WHAT! YOU AGAIN!" To (seeing Gendry) 😍"There's my baby, I miss him"
She loves the Hound. He protected her with the price of his life. Thankfully he was saved, but she knows he is a good honourable man and she is torn between love and hatred (she still hasn't forgotten that he killed her best friend, Mikah). That look was "I'm happy you're alive but I shouldn't".
House of the Dragon shows you how big the appetite was and is for more seasons of Game of Thrones. Season 8 should have been solely about the Night King and the White Walkers, with Jon eventually defeating him (I'm sorry but Arya's arc was about avenging her relatives, which she did. Jon's arc was about the North and beyond The Wall, and they denied us that satisfaction / closure that we would have gotten from a long anticipated Duel with and the victory over the Night King by Jon.) While season 9 should have been about the lineage of Jon, the steady build up of frustration and anger in Dany that leads to the capture of King's Landing.
If the rumors about the Jon Snow sequel of Dany's resurrection and a evil Three Eyed Raven is true, it could still be salvaged.
I don't think the appetite is for game of thrones as a whole but for Targaryens alone 😅 They're mystical and powerful and hbo is milking them for all their worth.
@@gguktae3502 What do you mean you are here watching got 4 years after its end scrolling the comments. You clearly do still have an appetite for got content.
Actually they recreated this scene from S01 Episode 1 when Robert arrives Winterfell, even the music here is a variation of that original one

Imagine Vhagar and Caraxes in GOT 😲
This Baby Drogon ended King's landing in less than an hour. If those Beasts Vhagar and Caraxes, OP Dragons in the Dance are contorlled by Daenerys and let loose, I'm pretty sure Westeros will be ash by the End of the Day..
If vhaga meleys caraxes from the dance period were with Dany then there's no need for the dothraki unsullied to come to winter fell coz them 3 ARE enough to stop the night king army
Then killed rhaegal in the most idiotic way possible
Toll
I still do not get how Sansa did not like her (or at least pretended to do it) after Danny offered such support when she didn't actually have to to.
You can't blame her. She's been deceived many times even by her husbands and secret lover (littlefinger).
@@princesamontina138 Yes, but her husbands (and Littlefinger) were from the family that ruined hers. Not to mention she was in Kingslanding at that time, Cersei was there too, and Joffrey (that maniac king) was still alive (until he was killed and she had to run away). So, yes, she had many reasons there. But now it was totally different. Daenerys lost most of her advantage helping the north. That counts as something. Of course, Daenerys might have behaved strange in the north, but I think that is due to bad writing. When it comes to Sansa, she was more interested in politics and intrigue than the white walkers, who were an actual and more inmediate threat. When it comes to Danerys, that "bend the knee" thing totally contradicts to her attittude towards their allies in previous seasons. For instance, when she promised Yara the Iron Islands' independence (They can all ask [for their freedom]). If the writers had kept some coherence, Daenerys and Sansa would get along pretty well. But even in the case Sansa didn't like her, if she had learned as she said she did, she would have Daenerys even closer.
@@cesarguzmanibanez8152 I see, the writers were to be blamed.
She had hella trauma she basically only wanted family she trusted and anyone else was a risk and couldn’t be trusted. Dany really got treated terribly when she went out of her way to help them win that war.
@@Astarrrrr I agree, Dany did not deserve that treatment from Sansa and everybody else, they knew without Dany they could have not won. They could have been a little bit appreciated😠😡
Episode 1 of Season 8. When we had high expectations, fueled by a scene like this.

The season started off so promising 😭
“It was to the dragons to whom we bowed to, and the dragons are dead” Greatjon Umber season 2.
Then you have that entrance: prepare to bow again 3:23
That "proud mom" reaction from Daenerys is priceless
One of the most bad ass scene of all time, that smirk from Dany shows you that she knows clearly how powerful she is. My 5 fav scenes are, DANY ARRIVE AT WINTERFELL,MY REIGN HAS JUST BEGUN, CARAXES ROCKS RHAE SHIPS, VERMAX, ARRAX and MELEYS leaving dragon stone to carry the black Queen message and finally Daemon making the kingsguard renew their vow and Caraxes as usual makes his bad ass entry 🥵🔥.
Love the music like s1 and the arrival of king Robert
Winterfall seemed so small from above, especially when compared with the red tree there. So the question: how could it contain so many soldiers from the army of Mother of dragon?
You shouldn't care about the answer to this question, as the writers clearly didn't. In the books Winterfell is absolutely humongous.
If you pause when the dragons roar and make themselves noticed. You can see the different expressions on the faces of the people.
The look of shock and awe. As well as fear. It just shows how dragons are viewed in this world. Creatures that capture our imagination, but at the same time strike fear into our hearts.
Sansa and dany could have been good friends. They started as abused and underestimated girls who rose up
What an entrance

This mirrors the first episode with Robert turning up, same music with his army and Arya watching from the streets below

I really wonder how the Dothraki and Unsullied would survive in the north during a hard winter. Had they ever even seens snow before? Even the dragons were not doing well. Could they hunt and find enough to eat without the Northerners to supply them. As Cersei told Joffrey.. "When winter came the Gods themselves couldn't say your army". Sansa may have been thinking along those lines.
I am going to guess when they bent the knee to Aegon 300 years before it was summer.
Any die hard fan know about that?
