- A breakdown of the newly revealed Monster Hunter Wilds! Monster Hunter Wilds 1st trailer doesn't have THAT much to show but there are some interesting things to suggest it may be an open world game! Let me know what you think down below!

So glad we got this announcement, now I’m just curious what kind of gameplay approach they are going to take
Dual wielding or weapon swap basically
I don't think it will be open world, I think they're just going to make much larger zones that you can traverse a bit more fluidly with the mount. Probably inspired by the mounting in MH: Stories 2
You heard of Rise/Sunbreak?
Maybe just ONE big large zone with multiple biomes? But still maintaining the hub aspect
I like that they didn’t try to level up the graphics of the game, but actually maintained the same look of MH World with MANY MORE monster on screen ❤
For me personally monster hunter didnt really "focus" on the story, they prefer to focus on the feature/gameplay
1.If you look at the final scene in the teaser, you'll notice that the mount carrying a bowgun. So maybe mid hunt weapon changing is avaible
2.If camping was part of the gameplay, imagine getting invaded by monster such as rathalos in the night
3.The dev said they're trying to push the ps5 engine to the max,so i guess expect many monster roosters
4.I hope the mounting/hunting buddies has a great improvement. You see the raptor like mount that can climb and glide in the trailer now imagine if we can "capture" a mount that have different abbilities, like the one that can swim, fly, etc
Man...so glad to be part of this community
something i noticed is that the hunter in the trailer has the slinger from world. I really hope this takes place in the new world.
well not really, it's a Savannah which makes me think that it takes place in th old world
@@calvyn8059the parts we see of the new world is only the coastline, the map shows that the vast majority pass the highlands is unexplored and we also have maps of the old world and have a good sense of where things are.
Mhw is in the new world or do u mean it's a continuation of exploring it
@@sir_cremsicle I feel like it's both
It would be awesome to get the full version of MH: Wild's Theme!
if i had to guess, i'd say its an evolution of the maps going loading-screen-less to be even more open world and alive, and the dust storm is either related to a new elder or a new region. lots of cool possibilities here, especially the relatively massive jump in monsters on screen and perhaps more importantly, more large monsters to fight (or run from) at once, which has huge implications. Personally, the beauty of MH is that they always keep the thing thats most important to me: the core loop of hunting cool monsters to make cool gear that let me make neat builds. all the stuff they always add beyond that is just gravy upon gravy and it feels so good.
I can imagine the lightning striking a monster could give it different materials if you kill it after it’s effected which could be cool
Trueeeeeee
It would definitely be cool as long as the farming process for getting it is not tedious
Imagine if monsters had power ups if they got struck.
Rajang might become a super simian to surpass all other super simians.
Super simians 3 Rajang.
I forgot to mention that the little endemic life on the pangolin-dillo creatures. 0:40
Yeah very true there were lots of smol creatures
My brother in Christ! I bought World maybe 2 years ago, wanting a new MMO-like single player experience and dropped it after 2-3 hours. Tried last year for another 2 and dropped.
Only your channel made me actually fall in love with the series and pick up a more beginner friendly weapon and try again.
I've been missing out. You've raised a new Sword and Shield main! (I hope I'll get used to the left-handedness after a while)
It's coming out in 2025 because they need a couple of extra months after finishing up the 5-year development cycle. Yes, it's been 6 years since MH World, but Iceborne came out a year later, on September 6, 2019. Which means that only after September 2024 will it've been 5 years. But the reason they need a few extra months is not only because' of COVID possibly slowing down development for the first year or two, but also because they were still releasing updates and content for Iceborne for a year, and yeah, that's smaller stuff, so it's not too bad, but still all that counts. If it weren't for those things, more specifically COVID, this game would've been out next year between September and before the end of 2024. So January 2025 is a safe bet for the release of MH Wilds, unless it gets delayed.
I think it will play like world with the new moves of rise but those moves wont be as op.
Also it looks like that thin structure behind the hunter the lighting strikes is some sort of antenna. There are numerous of them sticking up in the last shot maybe the hunting guild are using them to collect electricity to ude as an energy source or to prevent fires from occurring when the storms occur. The guild is probably trying to figure out what is causing these storms which we all know is some monster.
Also the hunters mount has a rifle holstered on it's right side maybe a light bow gun. So maybe we could be carrying two weapons with us?
i hope they took inspiration from other open world game with more of a "survival aspect". maybe you don't have a fixed camp and you need to establish them over your travel. your raptor mount carrying bag and equipment also make me think that the raptor itself could act as a camp. ( so you don't have to go minecraft and punch some tree to build a cabin ). the Hunter carrying a light bowgun and a greatsword make me believe that they remove the camp system of World were you can teleport all you want and restock item/change weapon.
maybe its a return to the more important preparation aspect where you need to choose which weapon to take and which path to choose as you can't just TP to the camp and change stuff anymore ??.
maybe you can teleport to some place but i think they must have nerf that system as it would make the mount less important and as we've seen from the trailer, being chase by monster and running through horde seem to be an element of the gameplay.
Or the Raptor-like mount allow us to pick may 2 weapons or loadouts to change mid battle instead of teleport to a camp to change
The hunter is equipped with a slinger and a scoutfly cage, seems we are back on some unexplored land in the New World/Continent.
I am SO READY! It looks great and I'm so. Happy to see a monster hunter world-esque engine making a come back!
This might be crazy, but what if the environment is like monster hunter now. There is one base enviroment that looks like the wildspire waste, then a storm comes through and changes parts of the big base enviroment with each environment having a different set of monsters and resources that you can find.
I'm actually super down for that idea. I love when things stay fresh haha
The logo have 2 dragons and we can see that its hinting black and white like yin and yang. A big ass rock at the back. Savanna looking setting and a stampede... It's Lion King!
You can probably carry two weapon at the same time in hunts. One at the back of hunter and another one on the side of your pallico ride.
The physics of the monsters remind me of the shadow of the colossus remake by their movements I love it
This just had to drop, while I was asleep!
Anyways I'm so amazed and happy that they are going into this direction.
And I'm really curious where in the Old or New World that will take place and what else they will pull out.
The double loadout on your mount might suggest you have to master two weapons now instead of just one.
I'd be so down for two weapons to swap between haha
@@TeraRyza It's a big maybe for me. I have my weapon for the most part
It also looks like there might be a secondary weapon? On the side of your mount, it looks like there's a stock of a bowgun sticking out. Either that, or you can leave camp with maybe 2 loadouts you can switch between from your mount? That would be pretty sick, and also a bit more conducive to an open world playstyle. Man I cant wait to get more info on this.
I just noticed that there's a handle half way up the blade, which could be either a stance thing or simulation of weight.
if you look on the hunters belt theres a something that looks like a scoutfly cage might be wrong but it definitely does look like it. if its open world they need to double down on the living ecosystem stuff they did in world and if they do holy shit its gunna be insane
Your zoom-in on Rathalos made me notice something. There were black particles in the environment (other shots) mixed in with dust particles, but Rathalos leaves a trail of black particles in the air. I'm guessing yet another sort of affliction.
My bet would be that this game features a player hub, with the surrounding world being multiple biomes. If they have the technology to avoid loading screens, then why wouldn't they go for it? And I think we're at that point. It would be pretty cool actually riding out from town and heading to your hunt destination. Keep that core gameplay, minimalize the HUD and rely on tracking and map familiarity, have the ability to tag your target so you can give chase when it runs. I think it would be sick to see a Monster Hunter where you can just go out and explore and pitch camp in various locations, and with the way they approached gameplay with World, I could see them going a step further to embrace that immersion, or taking a step back and if they go open world, they use traditional waypoints and markers and map overlay full of clutter.
Here is my speculation on why MHWs is releasing 2025. First of all, of cuz Capcom wants to space MHWs and Dragon's Dogma 2 away from each other to not affect sale. Second of all, I believe that MHWs was originally placed to be released in 2024 along side with 20th Anniversary of Monster Hunter. However, MHWs turns out to be much more ambitious and needs more development time than the team had anticipated. Therefore they exchanged the release date with DD2 which was likely placed to be released at summer 2024 originally.
Very solid theory. It does seem to look very ambitious at the very least. I'm very happy to wait until 2025
First, I'm soooo exited for it though. Time to hibernate for a year
If you look closely at the Hunter, you can see the slinger and scout fly cage
The hunter has a light bow gun stored in his mount
On the mount it does look like they're carrying either a light or heavy bowgun in one of the bags
What if it's basically Monster Hunter : Guiding Lands? This would definitely be a cool angle to look at for a theorycrafting video
I’m not completely giving up on the possibility for this to be on the next Switch. Since the next Switch isn’t yet announced, Capcom can’t announce it either.
Either way, I’m so damn hyped for this game, 2025? No problem, Capcom has never once failed to deliver when it comes to this franchise. I know it will be well worth the wait
Yeah I'm totally down to wait for over year. Imagine the polish they could bring
Just a theory but the statue/stone the character ends the trailer for resembles a shara ishvalda/corpse of one along with that huge spiral in the back that reminds me ALOT of where you fight it
I was thinking of that on my 5th look at the trailer. Maybe the game take place in the new world but in unexplored areas or on the island we fought shara.
Those are real world structures
Not sure if anyone else noticed, the mount has a gun holstered. What if now we can take 2 classes with us on hunts without the need of retuning to base
What?! It has a gun?!
It looks like the Lightning Rod item from MHdos could be returning
I like areas like wild spire. But they are way too small imo. It had a forest area that feels like it shoulda been part of ancient forest.
A swamp spot where only the fish goes.
The actual desert part was quite small. Only really 3 areas to fight a monster in.
Finally a proper successor to World. OMG.
And from the Slinger and Scoutflies I'm already down bad for this game.
So down bad haha. They really did lean back into the environment. Super pumped about that
I love the prominent "6" on the title.
Maybe it's just me, but I swear that is a heavy bowgun peaking out of the saddle bag on the mount. Possibility to carry more than 1 weapon?
Could be, instead of having the ability to restock endlessly maybe you can get idk like 15 stacks of items and a secondary equipment set.
Some of MH content creator that I watched, seemed a lil bit concerned about the release year. Either it's unusual for Capcom or it's a little too long... I don't really know what they were thinking... Did they prefer we get nothing in TGA 2023??
All I see is a little end year's gift from Ryozo and I'll live my life, find a decent job, be healthy, until 2025 😅 MH Wilds do give me hope for the coming years!
I say let them cook! I'm super down to wait for a year. Why would they be concerned??
@@TeraRyza Actually, I don't really know why, but one content creator even said it's unusual for Capcom to announce a game this early... I just felt uneasy when they went something like "2 years kinda long to wait" and "just that, need more detail". In my opinion, one of the reason is the lingering effect of TGS dissappoinment, as people thought MH6 will be released in 2024. Or was it just my imagination..? Because I got that notion when watching some of them. 😅
Yes, I agree with you! In the other hand, let 2024 be the year for Dragon's Dogma 2. Considering the possibility of open world format and the sheer amount of details showed in the teaser trailer, it all makes sense. As long the game is really completed when released... I'll happily wait for it to come. Thanks for the reply, and sorry to bother you...😅
@irsandar10 you aren't a bother at all! Don't say that! And it's a different genre but Street Fighter 6 actually had more than a year before it released after its announcements. Considering that I would bet a solid 15 months is what they're going for!
The usual for capcom is 9 months before release so it's definitely 4 or 5 months longer than normal
I'm all good to wait. Haven't finished MHW/IB yet. Late hunter here. 😂 Started with MHR/SB. In fact, I haven't really completed SB yet (that last TU5(?) boss).
hi, did you notice the ligihtbowgun? xD
I just bought my ticket for the hype-train 😱
I think the lightning rods, weather changes and sand storms are gonna play a bigger part in the story, maybe something along the lines of discovering the true and wild nature of the ecosystems in the new area.
No wire bugs no clutch claw no tenderize..will be happy
Pretty sure thats a light bowgun on the side of out pet.... S9 possibly can change weapon during mid combat.
Since its the desert area, that means we're back in the continent in the old world. Maybe. Hopefully.
I'm more concerned about the bow-gun on the mount satchel
Definitely a form of guass harag.
I really hope that cross-play will be coming to the game.
Yeah I'm actually hopeful for that as it says PS5, Xbox, and Steam all from the get go
Dude let's gooooo
Wel i noticed that the mount has a kind of lbg looking object on his side
Watching the trailer the game does look pre alpha. I thought it was rather apparent which when I saw the 2025 release I wasn't shocked
Those aren't armadillos. Armadillos have bands on their back. Those are pangolins.
Also, I believe this game takes place in Monster Hunter's equivalent of Africa, as this is a very savannah looking area, and the trees just SCREAM Africa to me. So we might get some very cool monsters. Hopefully a lot of new ones never before seen.
We already have the pangolins and those... Imma call 'em Oni Bears because of their red faces. Plus the mount. But we also see some little bird wyverns, like velociprey, but tiny. Also, kestadon like monsters with head crests in the background.
I bet it does not take in the new or old world or prob a new continent or somewhere I guess
2025 sounds far, but considering the fact that it is currently december, 2025 is only a year away
Yeah for some reason I'd like to believe it was January 2025 but who knows haha
Mount certainly looks like fun, but I really just want gameplay. I gotta know what the weapons will be like, if there will be any new ones, what kind of wirebug/clutchclaw abilities we might have, etc. And of course, I want to see new large monsters. Not sure how an open-world setting could fit into the classic MH gameplay loop. Guiding Lands shows that chaining hunts together CAN work, but definitely needs some improvements if it's going to make up the primary gameplay loop.
Regardless, I'm excited that we got a peek, can't wait to see more!
they definitely should keep a grappling hook mechanic for traversing vertical terrain we need to climb on. Not the wirebug where you magically have a bug carrying several times it's weight on top of all the swinging force you are doing in mid air attached to no terrain
But at the same time im conflicted about it because i enjoy the super fast paced monsters once in a while tha utilizes the wirebug mechanic as a must very well, i.e. Amatsu
I think they called this Wilds to give a kick in the nuts to Wild Hearts lol
Honestly i don't want a sandbox MH, if any i prefer something like MGSV with certain larger maps and going back to mother base to re-stock and upgrades.
Nice analysis thou.👍
Capcom love that early window re4 was march this year dd2 march next year so hopefully wilds will drop around march 2025
Im glad they ended with Rathalos, because at first I was incredulous of this really being Monster Hunter, I had the same feeling when World was revealed. In a good way, the details are just so different from typical monster hunter that I was worried for a few seconds there this was some ripoff mobile game that was plagiarizing animations or something. For context I didn't watch the Game Awards and saw the video in a random tiktok. Had I seen this live though the animations and skeletons are so on point that this is for sure Monster Hunter
I don't think that's grass growing, I think it's more dust clearing with grass underneath
Or showing seasons are back from mh 2
i feel like im the only one thats noticed this but it looks like they're taking a couple notes from wild hearts
Honestly that might just be true. Wild Hearts doesn't quite match MH but it doesn't mean WH doesn't have great things to take note of
oh definitely! wild hearts as a game is amazing but it lacks that.... special inexplainable sauce that monster hunter has. So its amazing to see MH pull from such an amazing example
We get a RAPTOR !!!
They're pangolin
*All terrain birdog
It may be for the PS, Xbox and Steam... but is it cross-platform??? I really hope so, for obvious reasons. 😂
It might be, thanks to Capcom ID.
Very true Capcom ID is still pretty fresh and has only mainly been used for SF6 I believe
Switch, get out the way ~
FR tho
I have put to mutch expectation in this game. I m not hyped and I realy wish I was...
I have no idea if it will be open world. I don't want the expense of that to take away from other established elements or mechanics of MH though. I'm fine with the areas being the way they were in World if it means we get underwater areas and combat and monsters.
It's coming out in 2025 because it's an open world Monster Hunter 😊
2025 could be as soon as 13 months away. MHW came out in January so it’s not out of the realm of possibility….wheres my copium?
No switch release? Lord id hope not. World couldn't even run on switch
More than a year is too long😔😔😔
you should make a guild there and invite me
Oh definitely haha
