i have seen a theory that i actually do believe that melina is actually st. trina with st. trina being in the same boat as radagon being a segment of one persons personality that was fully and completely disconnected from them and turned into its own person. the reasons for this are varried and the video i got this idea from is here and everyone should go watch it not just to support the creator of this theory but also to get WAAAYYYY more evidence than i can give in a youtube comment ua-cam.com/video/zZwct5XkWHA/v-deo.html beyond this though the part about melina being in the same boat as radagon is a thought i came up with personally and i will say the original theory creator i feel is missing a lot of lore understanding to flesh out the idea properly but i do agree with the baseline thought that melina is st. trina and st. trina was once simple just another name for miquella before at some point he decided to split himself the same way his mother marika did
I have some issues with the idea of fighting Trina, like, she's described as a young girl, maybe a child, doesn't seem... Menacing, but fromsoftware did make us fight a newborn, so, I may be wrong

The full story is likely just as complex as Radagon and Marika, but I highly doubt Trina is merely an alias of Miquella. At this point I mostly regard them as two characters merged together instead of a single split character On the whole I believe she comes from an older time than Miquella, with hidden ties to the Albinaurics and their specialty of archery. Particularly when Miquella lilies appear to be modified Trina lilies instead of vice versa.
Nothing about this dialogue suggests Dolores is St Trina. In fact it specifies that Dolores "...fires St Trina's arrows..." Literally saying that they aren't her arrows but the arrows of St Trina. The "Silent Hunter" part also isn't mentioned or hinted at anywhere else in the game so for now it holds zero significance.

If I had to guess the reason their Adult form is unnerving is because they're awake. The middle eye is open, which usually represents an enlightened mind. Then they have mist like tendrils coming off that eye and making 2 more eyes on the top Left & Right. They're super awake lol
I think they're also unnerving as reference to the control of sleep through the pineal gland via nervous system. Don't understand what the #8 is about, for a few ideas but not sure anyone else is really guessing what tf Trina and octopodes have in common
Maybe we think too much and St. Trina is just another outer god. Miquella is the vessel for the outer god of sleep like Malenia to the God of rot. And he doesn't know how to get rid of it or doesn't want to because of his charming powers

The Elden RIng IS the Elden Beast. And we know that the shape of the Elden Ring has changed over time. Does that mean the Elden Beast looked different when they first came to the Lands Between?
Although I do think we’ll meet Trina Clerics. I think the specific character you’re talking about will actually be a “follower” (a fan boy lol). I could be very well wrong here, but the sleeping NPC’s mannerisms come across as an unpredictable state of sleep. Almost as if they were searching for Trina, and just fell asleep right on the spot in their presence. I imagine a cleric would probably have more control over their sleep, and therefore look more comfortable in their sleep than what is shown in the trailer… unless that’s just how clerics sleep, in that case I’m still excited anyways lmao. But I’m waffling, don’t listen to me lol
check out the shield of the guilty, when equipped it gives you resistance to frenzy and sleep and if you look at it, the guilty maiden depicted has a striking resemblance to st trina
The only thing about this is that the description says the maiden depicted got their eyes crushed by briars of sin before being reborn in the Lands Between. The closest in-game character similar to this is Hyetta/Irina since I doubt Miquella was reborn in the Lands Between. And even then, Hyetta saying her eyes are melting when you give her the FoF makes me think it's not even her on the shield unless the eyes getting crushed doesn't mean she no longer has them so they can still melt. The Focus increase is likely from the symbolism of having your eyes destroyed.
something interesting about miquella and saint trina is that in real life, the hormone that allows physical growth, the GH hormone, only gets secreted during sleep, which both explains the cause for miquella's eternal youth and the need for an alter ego that could fulfill the lack of sleep
Since there looks to be a sleep inducing swamp, and St. Trina is confirmed to appear I wonder if we will be able to go to sleep somewhere (at site of grace or the like) to be able to see her in our sleep. Since that’s seems to be where people have met her. 😴
There’s a theme in this game of becoming too consumed with something and being destroyed by it. Like those crystal sorceress who end up turning into crystal. Also whatever happened to Radahn. He became like an avatar of the gold, the energy kind of became his body. Then there’s what happens when you get too into dragon magic, or frenzy flame. It’s all people who become consumed and destroyed when they go too far.
Have you looked closely at the statues at the Precipice of Anticipation? There is a small one up in the arches of the Grafted arena and along the walls an adult man statue in long hooded robes. The columns along the walls depict a man tending to two intertwined trees. Those two show up together again outside of the area where Godwyn’s head is. Just before you enter the aggro area down there the adult one is now in bad shape with his face blasted off. The little one is at his feet, missing its head. Marika’s two golden children Godwyn and Miquella? G & M seem to have some relationship to Trina and Gloam Eyed Queen (fish tails on GEQ door in Caelid). I wonder if GEQ and Trina are related in a sleep/death way? We see people like Ranni, Rogier, Fia and the Direwolf trapped in sleep too.

It's just speculation from my schema of Trina but there's possible context woven in. "Fires" Trina quells frenzy flame, "Silent Hunter" vs trina's Sound & Healer, "both". All basic blatant thematic possibilities Lots of big subtext hints here, IF you're open to overanalyzing every word and syllable. I mean that literally, stop reading now unless you enjoy linguistics, creative thinking and time wasting. Ik the mf who can't read will still @ me a reply, I tried 🤷♂️ You'll pick up a lot of meaningless drivel. A perfect example, I know you didn't see the words Siofra, Ainsel and Uhl in the description. Mostly because they're not written, but they very well can be hidden. YES some of this is going to be contrived, I'm going to play with cadence, phonetics, and enunciation. I think that's what lyricists and authors do, it's how you craft subtext. It's also how I deconstruct subtext. "... That's exactly why the item description for the bewitching branch is so misleading. It's all recipes for sleep potions, so it's meant to be a calming tranqilizing agent used to soothe and quell aggression. It makes sense why Miquella's needle is also used in the same way for the scarlet rot and frenzied flame. It's the calmness that keeps your wits about you in the heat of battle or the sleep aid needed for inducing a restful dreamstate. Distilled from water lilies to create a sleep inducing drug with similar affects to alcohol. He's making a pain relieving anesthetic called Ether to treat patients as a doctor in a clinic would. (The downside however being that its addictive and highly flammable) Interesting Bloodborne similarity with the purple mist as well. St. Trina is definitely a healer which aligns well with the idea of Miquella wanting to help people and creating his Haligtree or "Healing" tree 😊👍
Cool detail I noticed about the Sword of Saint Trina. Although its iconography is heavily associated with St. Trina and sleep, it actually has a real world counterpart. I've looked at a St. Trina build before, but there just doesn't seem to be much to support it. The sword and torch use different stats (INT vs. FTH), there's very few spells that fit, and very little gear with purple and silver. If only we could change the colors and emblems on equipment. I'm confident the DLC will give us more options. TBH, I think all harvestables should have been on a timer to respawn. I know it's a thing with Souls games to respawn everything when you rest at the bonfire, I just don't think that was a good fit in this particular instance. It makes it too easy to farm some ingredients, and extremely difficult to farm others like St. Trina's Lilies that don't respawn.
There’s one point I would’ve added was cleanrot knights are very close in relation to miquella, and the knights drop both Trina lily and miquella Lilly
I know sacred blade isn't a unique skill, but given that it is the skill on the Miquellan Knight sword and the mists of slumber skill on St Trina sword uses the same animation as sacred blade, this could point to another connection between Miquela and Trina
Surprized you didn"t talk about Slumbering Egg. This item is quite rare to find and its description is very intriguing. "Owl eggs that will never hatch. Prized as a symbol of the most sublime slumber." This could be either a reference to Miquella's eternal childhood or Renalla Slumbering Egg.
I think we will he his/her clerics in the dlc. "My brother will keep his promise. He possesses the wisdom, the allure, of a god - he is the most fearsome Empyrean of all.”
St trina is probably an aspect of miquella that got split off from him. Which might explain radagon is marika thing. Radagon is an aspect of marika which was split off
Hey Zio. Gonna throw this one out there for you. Lilies are a "hermaphroditic flower." Miquella is one and the same. Upon birth, he/she would have been treated like a god in the same manor as Markia and Radagon (Rebis). Only issue is Miquella was cursed, like all of Marika's children. You have to be dead to become a "saint," so Miquella is similar to Ranni and Melina. A spirit in a sense. Don't be surprised to see a "lily" over Mequilla's left eye in the same way you see that crow claw over Melina's eye (GEQ). You kinda of see something over Ranni's eye but it's hard to make out. Anyway, finding out about the whole St.Trina thing and how they are a part of Miquella should be interesting.
It would be funny if the one in the cocoon in Mohgwyn Palace isn't Miquella at all, but rather the guy who made the cookbooks mentioned, and the painting in the intro was a red herring of sorts to lead us to think that the hand was Miquella's, but in reality he compelled Mogh to bring some of his followers along with him, and he used the scholar instead as a gateway to the Land of Shadow.
Perhaps St Trina is the champion of an outer god of dreams? Manifesting itself as an alter ego of whomever it chooses to be its scion? It’d certainly be a play/callback to Marika and Radagon, and could also play into the dual nature of Miquella’s many dichotomies (male and female, willing to give up its form for the sake of rebirth (but pairing with Miquella’s prescience provides another layer of Miquella’s intent by cocooning itself- if he knew mohg was coming to mess up his plans, thus severing Miquella’s ties to the land of the living, it would set them on a straight shot to the lands of shadow). The possibilities are endless
It's interesting that the Walking Mausoleums go to sleep at late night, since they have a connection to the eclipse and Godwyn, and thus to sleep. We can duplicate remembrances there, which have a connection to Finger readers, and I think the Fingers in general are tracing out or manipulating constellations and fates in the stars (you point at stars to trace out constellations). Late night is when the stars are probably at the fullest? I don't know. I think there's just a missing and now forgotten piece of Miquella/Messmer lore here when it comes to the Mausoleums in general. Especially considering they talk about Marika's unwanted soullless children. Someone should talk about these things again.

What about the Apostate Church up in the consecrated snowfield? There is a sleeping lady who looks like one the wold riding archers... there are also a great place to farm Trina Lily's
My theory is that Miquella's plan is to fuse with Messmer to become a god of the Shadow plane (the soul realm). In Alchemy and Hermeticism it's worth looking into the Alchemical Wedding. Miquella and Messmer are 2 sides of the same coin. Like Marika and Radagon. I believe Marika and Radagon were once separate and she ascended her qualities that made her the other half of Radagon. I believe they fused in the same principal of the Alchemical Wedding. I think each Empyrean has a plane they must belong on. There are 3 general planes of exiatence: the physical, the astral / mind, and the soul. I believe each Empyrean aligns wirh this; Malenia being the physical plane where she is a swordswoman who's main deal is decay, rot and rebirth. Ranni being the Astral / mind / psychic. And Miquella being of the soul. Based on this I believe the butterflies represent each Empyrean. Since we're on the Lands Between I believe we are on the Astral (Ranni's) plane. I think Miquella knew this and that's why he never chose to fight Ranni because he knew it was her plane to begin with. The Astral plane is the 2nd stage in the cycle: Physical > Astral > Soul, so it would make sense it would be the Lands Between. I think Ranni and Miquella (maybe Malenia too) all conspired in the Night of the black knives. My theory beforehand is that Marika made it impossible for the Empyreans to leave to their respective planes because she didn't want to lose any children and broke the cycle. I believe across the other planes there will be respective "other half" Empyreans for both Ranni and Malenia too. - I have a dew more ideas that seem to go with these theories and make sense. Between looking at Jungian Psychology, Hermeticism, Alcehmy, Tarot, Kyballah and the Rosicrucians, there is some real similarities.
No, not necessarily. Miquella was growing inside of the cocoon so that he would eventually break his curse. The body in there has been sustained by the blood Mohg has put into it, causing it to naturally grow. The body is just the grown and withered body of Miquella. :)

St Trina is the adult other half of Miquela who came into being when Miquela planted the haligtree and went to sleep, St Trina exists in the land of shadow and can interact with the land between through peoples dream. I think much like Merika and Radagon are the same being that when Merika became Elden Lord and created the land of shadow the Erdtree split her being as part of the contract and the Haligtree offers the same sacrifice as the Erdtree therefor splitting Miquela’s being as well, this allows both Miquela and Merika access to both the land of shadow and the land between simultaneously granting them lordship of both realms
Thinking of that Miquella is Melina video, I wonder if perhaps Melina is Miquella's divestiture of everything Golden? I only think of that because of the scar on St. Trina's face on the torch and considering it was likely made when the Haligtree was being grown then perhaps it was before Miquella went to the Land of Shadows? Melina being his incantation/faith side of the equation with Trina being intelligence/sorcery could be a very compelling thought given Miquella explored Golden Order Fundamentalism and that requires equal balance of Faith and Intelligence. A sort of split like the Dung Eater's though a bit more extreme. Especially since that Torch has a Faith requirement when everything else Trina-related uses intelligence.
Godhood in Elden Ring seems to require the ability to be a vessel for a God/Outer God. Marika/Radagon bears the Elden Beast/Elden Ring Malenia bears the Rot God. Ranni shed her Empyrean flesh, but that may be because the God of Night needed an independent vessel. Miquella is associated with Youth/Abundance, but if he is confirmed to also be St. Trina, the Goddess of Sleep/Dreams, this may indicate that Miquella has already ascended to the same level of Godhood as Marika/Radagon, and St. Trina. On a somewhat unrelated note, the Palace Approach site of grace: I believe it being the most popular farming location with the despondent Albinaurics is no coincidence. I like to think that those particular Albinaurics have seen the truth of their lord Miquella. Beyond his kidnapping, I believe they have seen and are awakened to Miquella's terrifying nature. "Pure and radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men. There is nothing more terrifying." I like to speculate that those Albinaurics, like almost everyone else, has been orchestrated by Miquella to be there... for our express purpose of farming them for runes. "What is my purpose?" "You pass butter." "...oh my god."
At the end of it all I wouldn't be surprised if it was Miquella who orchestrated our maiden's death all along... after all, we get his steed and are also given his (or Trina's) spirit summoning bell which are absolutely crucial to our journey. It seems Ranni and Melina are also in cahoots with some of his plans concerning the Tarnished. Melina: just wants change, any change bars annihilation (frenzy) Ranni: further her own goals, freedom and iconoclasm Miquella: absolute godhood, harmony under adoration. What bugs me is the fact that imo, game implies all tarnished were exiled from the lands between through boats (weeping peninsula lore) but our late tarnished seemingly teleported/was summoned there to a place called the chapel of anticipation. Someone is playing 4D chess with us.

When I was a newby, I thought Miquella was following Trina's teachings. That's why he chose to protect the species rejected by the Haligtree. I thought that Trina was ancient, older than maybe even the Erdtree. It seems like the people of Uhl palace were Trina's believers and since they live underground, I thought they were around before Miquella. I could be wrong. What if we are all wrong and she's the gloam eyed queen loool
I have a theory primarily drawn from color scheme between Gold and Purple. These are the colors represented by Miquella/St. Trina, where else do we se those colors represented? The eyes of Melina. Anyways I am not claiming that Melina is Miquella, just that there are glaring clues within the game that point out towards The Source of everything.
The sheer number of sleep animations (check Limit Breaker's vid) together with the cut content makes me wonder how big Miyazaki's plan for this stuff really was, and what part of it will materialize in the DLC. We've had confirmation that the DLC will not patch base game design, but we also hear someone telling us to get on with the touchy touchies to reach said DLC. Intriguing.
I just came to realization that the cocoon is probably at Trina not miqualla because we know miqualla did not break his curse the size of the body in the cocoon is bigger than all the demigods even radahn and another discovery I found is the cocoon does not match the hole in the haligtree it's too big which leads me to believe miqualla left the haligtree and when to the shadow realm with the help of mohg and that body in the cocoon could be st trina or some other being we don't know about ive even suggested it's messmer buttt that doesnt clear out because the land of shadow is not a dream place it's a place that exist just like the lands between so who ever it is in that cocoon had access to the land of shadow but I'm sure it's not miqualla I'm almost certain it's st trina
Since day 1 of Elden Ring, I’ve taken this to just mean that since Miquella’s youthful soul is no longer housed within his body, the body can be defiled and altered and grown and changed - as a result of Mohg’s blood rituals. It is miquella, but him entering a cocoon in the first place is why his body becomes big.

He did make a mistake there but while they don't shoot these arrows, they do have a chance to drop them, so there's still a strong connection between the two.
to me the fact that the Trina's torch clearly states that it depicts Trina in her adult form while Miquella is cursed with being forever a boy, is proof that they are not the same person. It does not get more clear than that, right?
Well the last vid you reacted to might actually be correct. St Trina goes in and out and hard to detect and see the gender of. Miquella for sure. Adult version Melina, makes sense
Of course, everything I say here will be meaningless because we’ll have answers in 1 month…. …. but I think the relationship is a twist on Marika/Radagon. I DO Think Miquella and Trina are different personalities and “people” (perhaps like Marika and Radagon). However, unlike Marika/Radagon, I think Trina purely exists in the form of a spirit - intangible and bodiless. Miquella being divested of flesh (typical empyrean activities atp) means to me that Trina is closer to their goals. Hence why we’ll see Trina in the Land of Shadow, and not some dream realm, because Trina is traversing the Land where Miquella departed to - in hopes of unifying together. I’ve never held the belief that they were the same person, personality. It would make more sense, in the context of the world, if they were different. But the game leaves the idea ambiguous enough for there to be room for speculation
Hey so I'm watching a video about Alucard and how he got his powers and apparently he was called "Vlad the impaler" the weapon and the grab move and special move garden of the impaled that messamer uses are all linked to Vlad himself also Vlad's origin story of being a crusader type fighting for good and in the end dies cursing God and everything else... Could this be the same with messamer and why he may have burned the erd tree... Also messamer looks like a vampire to me now... That pale skin those bat like wings on the snakes his unique blood flame... What say you #ziostorm
Its been my theory that Miquella will end up a boss if not the boss of the DLC. However since the DLC trailers scene where the jars are hanging in a spiraled staircase, it makes me think back to Griffiths rescue in Berserk, and the Four Kings in New Londo. There be some treachery afoot here.

I could be very well wrong here, but the sleeping NPC’s mannerisms come across as an unpredictable state of sleep. Almost as if they were searching for Trina, and just fell asleep right on the spot in their presence. I imagine a cleric would probably have more control over their sleep, and therefore look more comfortable in their sleep than what is shown in the trailer… unless that’s just how clerics sleep, in that case I’m still excited anyways lmao. But I’m waffling, don’t listen to me lol

check out the shield of the guilty, when equipped it gives you resistance to frenzy and sleep and if you look at it, the guilty maiden depicted has a striking resemblance to st trina
The only thing about this is that the description says the maiden depicted got their eyes crushed by briars of sin before being reborn in the Lands Between. The closest in-game character similar to this is Hyetta/Irina since I doubt Miquella was reborn in the Lands Between. And even then, Hyetta saying her eyes are melting when you give her the FoF makes me think it's not even her on the shield unless the eyes getting crushed doesn't mean she no longer has them so they can still melt. The Focus increase is likely from the symbolism of having your eyes destroyed.
It would be sick if the DLC, with the introduction of that pink magic, had some Miquella charm spells - similar to the bewitching branch

There’s a theme in this game of becoming too consumed with something and being destroyed by it. Like those crystal sorceress who end up turning into crystal. Also whatever happened to Radahn. He became like an avatar of the gold, the energy kind of became his body. Then there’s what happens when you get too into dragon magic, or frenzy flame. It’s all people who become consumed and destroyed when they go too far.
Have you looked closely at the statues at the Precipice of Anticipation? There is a small one up in the arches of the Grafted arena and along the walls an adult man statue in long hooded robes. The columns along the walls depict a man tending to two intertwined trees. Those two show up together again outside of the area where Godwyn’s head is. Just before you enter the aggro area down there the adult one is now in bad shape with his face blasted off. The little one is at his feet, missing its head. Marika’s two golden children Godwyn and Miquella? G & M seem to have some relationship to Trina and Gloam Eyed Queen (fish tails on GEQ door in Caelid). I wonder if GEQ and Trina are related in a sleep/death way? We see people like Ranni, Rogier, Fia and the Direwolf trapped in sleep too.

I'm curious how St. Trina is connected to Dolores the Sleeping Arrow puppet.
The description reads: Spirit of a handsome archer who dressed in the style of a man. Called the Silent Hunter by some, she fires St. Trina's arrows from her shortbow.
Dolores once belonged to the Roundtable Hold, where she was both a critic and a friend of Gideon the All-Knowing. It was because of her that he and Seluvis went their separate ways.
Dolores might very well be a cleric of St. Trina's then. That's what is significant of the use of those arrows: spreading Trina's teachings.
It's just speculation from my schema of Trina but there's possible context woven in. "Fires" Trina quells frenzy flame, "Silent Hunter" vs trina's Sound & Healer, "both". All basic blatant thematic possibilities

That's exactly why the item description for the bewitching branch is so misleading. It's all recipes for sleep potions, so it's meant to be a calming tranqilizing agent used to soothe and quell aggression. It makes sense why Miquella's needle is also used in the same way for the scarlet rot and frenzied flame. It's the calmness that keeps your wits about you in the heat of battle or the sleep aid needed for inducing a restful dreamstate.
Distilled from water lilies to create a sleep inducing drug with similar affects to alcohol. He's making a pain relieving anesthetic called Ether to treat patients as a doctor in a clinic would. (The downside however being that its addictive and highly flammable) Interesting Bloodborne similarity with the purple mist as well. St. Trina is definitely a healer which aligns well with the idea of Miquella wanting to help people and creating his Haligtree or "Healing" tree 😊👍

Cool detail I noticed about the Sword of Saint Trina. Although its iconography is heavily associated with St. Trina and sleep, it actually has a real world counterpart.
Tizona, or Tizón, was the sword of errant knight-turned-crusader Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, more commonly known as El Cid, a transliteration of his title given to him by the Spanish Moors, as-Sayyid.
El Cid was originally a mercenary who fought for both the Spaniards and the Moors in their wars over the Spanish peninsula in the late 11th century, although he would later come to ally himself fully with Spain in their Reconquista.
Also notable about El Cid (in relation to Elden Ring), was his legendary warhorse Babieca. There’s disagreement on how he came to own this horse, but one poem describes Babieca as being a “gift from a barbarian”.
Hopefully sleep builds become more varied and viable with the new content.

I've looked at a St. Trina build before, but there just doesn't seem to be much to support it. The sword and torch use different stats (INT vs. FTH), there's very few spells that fit, and very little gear with purple and silver. If only we could change the colors and emblems on equipment. I'm confident the DLC will give us more options.
TBH, I think all harvestables should have been on a timer to respawn. I know it's a thing with Souls games to respawn everything when you rest at the bonfire, I just don't think that was a good fit in this particular instance. It makes it too easy to farm some ingredients, and extremely difficult to farm others like St. Trina's Lilies that don't respawn.
Maybe the things connected to miquella aren’t respawning is because he’s not still in the lands between spreading them (pause)
There’s one point I would’ve added was cleanrot knights are very close in relation to miquella, and the knights drop both Trina lily and miquella Lilly
I know sacred blade isn't a unique skill, but given that it is the skill on the Miquellan Knight sword and the mists of slumber skill on St Trina sword uses the same animation as sacred blade, this could point to another connection between Miquela and Trina

St trina is probably an aspect of miquella that got split off from him. Which might explain radagon is marika thing. Radagon is an aspect of marika which was split off
Marika represents a tree, Melina represents a branch of that tree.
Hey Zio. Gonna throw this one out there for you. Lilies are a "hermaphroditic flower." Miquella is one and the same. Upon birth, he/she would have been treated like a god in the same manor as Markia and Radagon (Rebis). Only issue is Miquella was cursed, like all of Marika's children. You have to be dead to become a "saint," so Miquella is similar to Ranni and Melina. A spirit in a sense. Don't be surprised to see a "lily" over Mequilla's left eye in the same way you see that crow claw over Melina's eye (GEQ). You kinda of see something over Ranni's eye but it's hard to make out. Anyway, finding out about the whole St.Trina thing and how they are a part of Miquella should be interesting.

It would be funny if the one in the cocoon in Mohgwyn Palace isn't Miquella at all, but rather the guy who made the cookbooks mentioned, and the painting in the intro was a red herring of sorts to lead us to think that the hand was Miquella's, but in reality he compelled Mogh to bring some of his followers along with him, and he used the scholar instead as a gateway to the Land of Shadow.

Perhaps St Trina is the champion of an outer god of dreams? Manifesting itself as an alter ego of whomever it chooses to be its scion? It’d certainly be a play/callback to Marika and Radagon, and could also play into the dual nature of Miquella’s many dichotomies (male and female, willing to give up its form for the sake of rebirth (but pairing with Miquella’s prescience provides another layer of Miquella’s intent by cocooning itself- if he knew mohg was coming to mess up his plans, thus severing Miquella’s ties to the land of the living, it would set them on a straight shot to the lands of shadow). The possibilities are endless
It's interesting that the Walking Mausoleums go to sleep at late night, since they have a connection to the eclipse and Godwyn, and thus to sleep. We can duplicate remembrances there, which have a connection to Finger readers, and I think the Fingers in general are tracing out or manipulating constellations and fates in the stars (you point at stars to trace out constellations). Late night is when the stars are probably at the fullest? I don't know. I think there's just a missing and now forgotten piece of Miquella/Messmer lore here when it comes to the Mausoleums in general. Especially considering they talk about Marika's unwanted soullless children. Someone should talk about these things again.

My theory is that Miquella's plan is to fuse with Messmer to become a god of the Shadow plane (the soul realm). In Alchemy and Hermeticism it's worth looking into the Alchemical Wedding.
Miquella and Messmer are 2 sides of the same coin. Like Marika and Radagon. I believe Marika and Radagon were once separate and she ascended her qualities that made her the other half of Radagon. I believe they fused in the same principal of the Alchemical Wedding.
I think each Empyrean has a plane they must belong on. There are 3 general planes of exiatence: the physical, the astral / mind, and the soul.
I believe each Empyrean aligns wirh this;
Malenia being the physical plane where she is a swordswoman who's main deal is decay, rot and rebirth.
Ranni being the Astral / mind / psychic.
And Miquella being of the soul.
Based on this I believe the butterflies represent each Empyrean.
Since we're on the Lands Between I believe we are on the Astral (Ranni's) plane. I think Miquella knew this and that's why he never chose to fight Ranni because he knew it was her plane to begin with.
The Astral plane is the 2nd stage in the cycle: Physical > Astral > Soul, so it would make sense it would be the Lands Between.
I think Ranni and Miquella (maybe Malenia too) all conspired in the Night of the black knives.
My theory beforehand is that Marika made it impossible for the Empyreans to leave to their respective planes because she didn't want to lose any children and broke the cycle.
I believe across the other planes there will be respective "other half" Empyreans for both Ranni and Malenia too.
- I have a dew more ideas that seem to go with these theories and make sense.
Between looking at Jungian Psychology, Hermeticism, Alcehmy, Tarot, Kyballah and the Rosicrucians, there is some real similarities.

No, not necessarily. Miquella was growing inside of the cocoon so that he would eventually break his curse. The body in there has been sustained by the blood Mohg has put into it, causing it to naturally grow. The body is just the grown and withered body of Miquella. :)

St Trina is the adult other half of Miquela who came into being when Miquela planted the haligtree and went to sleep, St Trina exists in the land of shadow and can interact with the land between through peoples dream. I think much like Merika and Radagon are the same being that when Merika became Elden Lord and created the land of shadow the Erdtree split her being as part of the contract and the Haligtree offers the same sacrifice as the Erdtree therefor splitting Miquela’s being as well, this allows both Miquela and Merika access to both the land of shadow and the land between simultaneously granting them lordship of both realms
Sooo on a total sidenote i bet that pink magic from the dlc trailer are poison spells. Its the same color as the poisonbloom flowers.
Thinking of that Miquella is Melina video, I wonder if perhaps Melina is Miquella's divestiture of everything Golden? I only think of that because of the scar on St. Trina's face on the torch and considering it was likely made when the Haligtree was being grown then perhaps it was before Miquella went to the Land of Shadows? Melina being his incantation/faith side of the equation with Trina being intelligence/sorcery could be a very compelling thought given Miquella explored Golden Order Fundamentalism and that requires equal balance of Faith and Intelligence. A sort of split like the Dung Eater's though a bit more extreme. Especially since that Torch has a Faith requirement when everything else Trina-related uses intelligence.
Godhood in Elden Ring seems to require the ability to be a vessel for a God/Outer God.
Marika/Radagon bears the Elden Beast/Elden Ring
Malenia bears the Rot God.
Ranni shed her Empyrean flesh, but that may be because the God of Night needed an independent vessel.
Miquella is associated with Youth/Abundance, but if he is confirmed to also be St. Trina, the Goddess of Sleep/Dreams, this may indicate that Miquella has already ascended to the same level of Godhood as Marika/Radagon, and St. Trina.
On a somewhat unrelated note, the Palace Approach site of grace: I believe it being the most popular farming location with the despondent Albinaurics is no coincidence. I like to think that those particular Albinaurics have seen the truth of their lord Miquella. Beyond his kidnapping, I believe they have seen and are awakened to Miquella's terrifying nature. "Pure and radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men. There is nothing more terrifying."
I like to speculate that those Albinaurics, like almost everyone else, has been orchestrated by Miquella to be there... for our express purpose of farming them for runes.

At the end of it all I wouldn't be surprised if it was Miquella who orchestrated our maiden's death all along... after all, we get his steed and are also given his (or Trina's) spirit summoning bell which are absolutely crucial to our journey. It seems Ranni and Melina are also in cahoots with some of his plans concerning the Tarnished.
Melina: just wants change, any change bars annihilation (frenzy)
Ranni: further her own goals, freedom and iconoclasm
Miquella: absolute godhood, harmony under adoration.
What bugs me is the fact that imo, game implies all tarnished were exiled from the lands between through boats (weeping peninsula lore) but our late tarnished seemingly teleported/was summoned there to a place called the chapel of anticipation. Someone is playing 4D chess with us.

When I was a newby, I thought Miquella was following Trina's teachings. That's why he chose to protect the species rejected by the Haligtree. I thought that Trina was ancient, older than maybe even the Erdtree. It seems like the people of Uhl palace were Trina's believers and since they live underground, I thought they were around before Miquella. I could be wrong. What if we are all wrong and she's the gloam eyed queen loool

I have a theory primarily drawn from color scheme between Gold and Purple. These are the colors represented by Miquella/St. Trina, where else do we se those colors represented? The eyes of Melina.
Anyways I am not claiming that Melina is Miquella, just that there are glaring clues within the game that point out towards The Source of everything.

The sheer number of sleep animations (check Limit Breaker's vid) together with the cut content makes me wonder how big Miyazaki's plan for this stuff really was, and what part of it will materialize in the DLC. We've had confirmation that the DLC will not patch base game design, but we also hear someone telling us to get on with the touchy touchies to reach said DLC. Intriguing.

I just came to realization that the cocoon is probably at Trina not miqualla because we know miqualla did not break his curse the size of the body in the cocoon is bigger than all the demigods even radahn and another discovery I found is the cocoon does not match the hole in the haligtree it's too big which leads me to believe miqualla left the haligtree and when to the shadow realm with the help of mohg and that body in the cocoon could be st trina or some other being we don't know about ive even suggested it's messmer buttt that doesnt clear out because the land of shadow is not a dream place it's a place that exist just like the lands between so who ever it is in that cocoon had access to the land of shadow but I'm sure it's not miqualla I'm almost certain it's st trina

Since day 1 of Elden Ring, I’ve taken this to just mean that since Miquella’s youthful soul is no longer housed within his body, the body can be defiled and altered and grown and changed - as a result of Mohg’s blood rituals.
It is miquella, but him entering a cocoon in the first place is why his body becomes big.

…. but I think the relationship is a twist on Marika/Radagon. I DO Think Miquella and Trina are different personalities and “people” (perhaps like Marika and Radagon). However, unlike Marika/Radagon, I think Trina purely exists in the form of a spirit - intangible and bodiless. Miquella being divested of flesh (typical empyrean activities atp) means to me that Trina is closer to their goals. Hence why we’ll see Trina in the Land of Shadow, and not some dream realm, because Trina is traversing the Land where Miquella departed to - in hopes of unifying together.
I’ve never held the belief that they were the same person, personality. It would make more sense, in the context of the world, if they were different. But the game leaves the idea ambiguous enough for there to be room for speculation
Hey so I'm watching a video about Alucard and how he got his powers and apparently he was called "Vlad the impaler" the weapon and the grab move and special move garden of the impaled that messamer uses are all linked to Vlad himself also Vlad's origin story of being a crusader type fighting for good and in the end dies cursing God and everything else... Could this be the same with messamer and why he may have burned the erd tree... Also messamer looks like a vampire to me now... Me personally, I think St.Trina, Miquella and Melina are the same person
Its been my theory that Miquella will end up a boss if not the boss of the DLC. However since the DLC trailers scene where the jars are hanging in a spiraled staircase, it makes me think back to Griffiths rescue in Berserk, and the Four Kings in New Londo. There be some treachery afoot here.
