I lost my father last month and while we were children we grew up and we used to go camping with my father and uncle. I always reflect on the awesome times we had camping. I bet your son will remember these times with him.
Epic thanks Tyler. You’re channel is absolutely stellar. I hold you up there with the very best of this style (RD & ASPW) for quality of content. You just crush them for quantity. You are hands down my first choice for viewing/research. Thank you.
Seen you round town other day then your away again. Living and loving life good on ya and the young Tucker will treasure those memories forever. Enjoy and safe travels mate
After watching your out takes where you’ve shown us footage of you setting up your cameras, I am picturing you running all over Moreton in the soft sand doing the same thing 😵. I just gotta say a huge thanks for the efforts you go to so that we get these fantastic videos to watch.
Mate, absolutely brilliant!! The cinematography gets better as you go and I’m loving the vego cooking, can’t beat lentils 👍 You’ve given me yet another place on the map to visit. looking forward to the next instalment.
thanks tyler , really enjoyable and we have checked out just about every moreton island vid on youtube and this one really gave us a great idea of what to expect when we get there in October , can not wait cheers
Another great adventure, looks like an amazing place. You certainly cook up some very healthy meals which is nice to see. Kai seemed to really enjoy this trip. Great Dad and son bonding. Can't wait for part 2!
Very well put together video mate. I’m heading to Moreton for the first time in 3 weeks and your info around low range/ high range is appreciated. Nice work
Thanks for sharing it brings back many fonder memories of our trips to Moreton Is before it became too popular -(nothing like picking an isolated camp spot not a sole for at least 2 klms then going out for the day to return to find 4 tents, generators and a pack of screaming kids and 24hr blaring music.) I only return via boat now to take in the beauty go for a swim, clean the days catch and anchor 500m offshore now.
Thanks mate! Yep it was pretty quiet when we were there (winter and outside school holidays) but definitely does get super busy at times. Like a lot of places they are getting busier and busier these days
Great video. Been there last September. Amazing place. Like Fraser, but smaller, less crowds and no dingos. The Blue Lagon is a magical place. Came across a big Phyton at night while checking out the lighthouse.
awesome mate, looks like a fantastic spot and a great destination. looks like you done well with the weather. great video and thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing part 2. cheers Shad.
Great vids mate. Excellent footage, editing and soundtrack, very professional! Love how you take young kai on all your adventures too Killing the dad role👏🏽
Just found your vids Tyler. Love the style & quality. Now subscribed!. One suggestion, maybe you could add detail of each trip on the title page to include how many days, KMs, and fuel used on the trip as a general guide for those planning to follow in your footsteps.
Love moreton... Did moreton last year and doing fraser in a month. Cant wait !! Only recommendation I can make is in busy season get the morning ferry because the island clears out in the morning and the new comers get all the good camp spots, and alot of the afternoon departures are also packing up... only applies to free camp zones.
Good point mate, we were there outside of QLD school holidays and in winter so wasn't too busy at all. But can imagine how busy it would be during school holidays and in the warmer months
Great video Tyler. Heading there next month with a couple of mates. What was your favourite campsite or what would you recommend? It’s our first time and we can’t decide on a camp spot 😂 there for 3 nights.
Awesome place mate was there couple years back and those inland tracks ,especially the middle track were absolutely shocking great camera work as always thanks
Awsome work done on the vid well done ,, and I live just across the pond from Moreton island at Birkdale which is only a 7 minute drive to welling point,, I've ridden the jet ski over a few times from wello point but yet to take the Lux over there it is on bucket list of places to go too an drive an camp
Just came across your vid as I was searching for Moreton Island 4wd vids and this video is pretty good! Very informative and great vid! I just hit the subscribe button. Will be following you for sure.
A mate of mine sent me a link to your video, I was the black Ranger in front of you getting of the barge. How nice was the weather and middle road was as smooth as it's ever been. Awesome video mate👌👍👍
Nice choise with the tyres, ive run a couple of sets of those, and find them really good in the sand. The softer compound seems to flex better that eg 126 load rated Nittos.
@@TylerThompson90 Was looking through comments to see if anyone had a critique on those. I have run Dynapro MTs (many many sets) since they first brought them out over ten years ago because they take the roads well in terms of wear but also don't get staked much. Only used them on beach a few times and they were fine. When I am offroad I do drive in nasty spots...in terms of dead timber. Have picked up flats on nails and screws enough times over years like any tyre I guess.
Great video too Tyler. Incredible what is going on with media now anyone can buy a drone and other relatively cheap cameras to make an amazing video. Never been on Moreton but I have a pretty sound idea now of what is there. cheers
Great vid.. moved to brisbane recently. Looking to get a 4x4 soon but moreton island looks the part... do you let you tyres down on the ferry so your ready for the island
Hey mate, thank you! Dont have a water bra or anything, diesels generally handle it pretty well providing you aren't stuck/sitting in the water. Just airtight airbox with the snorkel and breathers for you diffs/gearbox/transfer case
Hey Tyler, does the tide matter for when you arrive at the island, can you travel from the drop off point all the way up to the north west camping zone on high tide or does it need to be low tide?
Pretty sure its just seaweed haha, because if you look back to 4.58 (drone shots were from the same time/flight) you get an overview shot of it there in front of where I'm standing and it definitely just looks like seaweed
Tyler, tip for water crossings and less water ingestion - Windows up & A/C on flat out This pressurises the cabin & helps keep water out longer Awesome work though mate love your channel 🤟🏻 We’re heading to Fraser end of September and after seeing this are now looking to do Moreton, it’ll be school holidays though (thoughts?) Is there anywhere to camp with a big off road caravan near the wrecks mate ? Any information would be greatly appreciated thanks again ledge
Gets hectic during school holidays! If you're heading to the campgrounds that don't have designated sites you'll be wanting to get there as early as possible to secure a spot. Especially if you need a larger spot for the van you've got.
Thanks mate! Both places will be busy being school holidays, Fraser there is more people but more room to spread out. Ben Ewa campground might be your best option, its only a couple of kms from the wrecks and plenty of room there
Hey mate, awesome edit.Moreton is definitely on the cards in 2020 for the fam and I . Once you pay for your time on the island can you stay at any of the camp grounds or zones or when you pay are you paying for specific sites?? 👍
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! Technically you're meant to book and pay for specific zones/camp areas. You can't just pay and then go wherever you want
I'm going there... one day. You're like the perfect dad Tyler. You feed your son healthy food and you take him to great places. You don't get drunk and swear. I'm not like you, I eat meat and drink beer, but at least I don't swear in front of my boy. Just wish mine didn't get car sick so easily, I'd love to take him on trips but he won't come.
Pretty sure its just seaweed haha, because if you look back to 4.58 (drone shots were from the same time/flight) you get an overview shot of it there in front of where I'm standing and it definitely just looks like seaweed
Your son is always gunna remember you as the the worlds best dad for sure - great vid mate
Thanks mate :)
I lost my father last month and while we were children we grew up and we used to go camping with my father and uncle. I always reflect on the awesome times we had camping. I bet your son will remember these times with him.
One of my favourite 4x4 Channels, keeping it basic but still getting everywhere. The way it should be done! Keep em coming👌
Thanks mate! Appreciate the feedback :)
So much effort gone into this, all to help the rest of us know what we can expect of moreton. Top notch job cobber.
Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback :)

After watching your out takes where you’ve shown us footage of you setting up your cameras, I am picturing you running all over Moreton in the soft sand doing the same thing 😵. I just gotta say a huge thanks for the efforts you go to so that we get these fantastic videos to watch.
Thanks mate! Haha yep I kept fit doing plenty of sand running on this trip
Great way to start fathers day 🤙🏾 also thanks for sharing your vego camp foods 👌🏿

Great video mate. Your son is so well behaved. Joy to watch. Good to see a travel blog for what it is. Nothing fake, not pretentious. Good on ya.
Thanks mate, appreciate it!

Cheers mate, thanks for watching!
Nice choise with the tyres, ive run a couple of sets of those, and find them really good in the sand. The softer compound seems to flex better that eg 126 load rated Nittos.
Yep I did notice they bag more then the couple of other brands I've used, seem to be a good tyre so far

Any chance of a tutorial on how to do those time lapses at 10:09
Tucker looks great but any meat?
Hi Tyler great video, ? How does engine handle those deep water crossings, do you require a water bra or special set up to radiator etc?
Russ
Hey mate, thank you! Dont have a water bra or anything, diesels generally handle it pretty well providing you aren't stuck/sitting in the water. Just airtight airbox with the snorkel and breathers for you diffs/gearbox/transfer case
AMAZING! Thank you for sharing. I wish the sea in my area were that color.
Thanks! Great place there :)
Felt pretty safe leaving the swag and stuff behind while going out for the day or did you lock them up?
Yeah haven't had any problems leaving them
Great video mate, I swear you are trying to turn the truck into a submarine some times :) .

Hey champ , loved that campsite you had , when booking online what zone /area is that classed as ?
Hey mate, its just the north-west camping zone :)
Amazing video, what a great spot!
Thanks mate! Sure was
Hey Tyler, does the tide matter for when you arrive at the island, can you travel from the drop off point all the way up to the north west camping zone on high tide or does it need to be low tide?
both times I've been there you could travel it at high tide, but keep in mind beach conditions do change
So like 6:45 datta shark aye?
Pretty sure its just seaweed haha, because if you look back to 4.58 (drone shots were from the same time/flight) you get an overview shot of it there in front of where I'm standing and it definitely just looks like seaweed
We were there roughly a month ago it was our first time & loved it unfortunately a week just wasn't enough.
Yep can be easy to settle into island life there!
Thank you very much.
Tyler, tip for water crossings and less water ingestion
- Windows up & A/C on flat out
This pressurises the cabin & helps keep water out longer
Awesome work though mate love your channel 🤟🏻

He has done video all about his cameras. Just have a look at his channel. I was curious as well.
Thanks mate, yep got a video about cameras. Main camera I use is a sony a6300 and drone is a DJI mavicair
I'm going there... one day.

Where did you get the fender flares, what brand are they?
Just got them from autobarn mate, rubber cut to size and drilled in under the guards
