If you mash both games lore together you realize that Arven was an orphan for a good chunk of his life and just thought he had terrible parents when they were literally both murdered
Well, they were kind of terrible anyway. One let their passions turn to obsession to the point of planning to usher in a new world order, the other walked out (presumably due to disagreeing with the specifics of said order; past vs. future). Of course which one did which depends on the version.

I think most everyone realizes that nurse Joy has betrayed them when they get pointed to the ground titan.
Nurse Joy pointed me to the ground titan after I only finished the first badge and the Bombirdier titan & it made so much sense at the time bc it was all in the same general area.
I managed to somehow beat the ground titan but ended up wiping to a random trainer on the way to Cascarrafa before realizing something was up 🥲

Effective but terrible marketing strategy
For me it was Tulip's gym. I ran past every pokemon in the cave leading up to that town, only for Nurse Joy to say, "nah you're good, you can take on the gym."
Remember, this is the woman who says 'Hope to see you again!' after healing your battering and beaten team. At this point it's an inescapable fact that she's a sadist.
Things that happened to Arven throughout Scarlet/Violet (Using Scarlets story rather than constantly putting "Sada/Turo")
-Turo abandoned him when he was a baby
-Hurt Doggo
-Sada was so focused on her work she didnt have time for Arven
-Sada gets stuck at the bottom of the Crater
-Sada gets f*cking murdered by the secondary legendary
-AI Sada pretends she is still alive
-AI Sada never bothers with Child Support
-AI Sada never tries to contact Arven
-The player character is in constant contact with the mom Arven was missing his whole life throughout the story
-When he finally speaks with his mom, she says she's been trying to reach him. . . *because he has keys to her lab*
-Arven finds out his mom died
-His Robo Mommy says that his mom loved him in her voice
-He watches his robo mom get launched into the distant past without getting the chance to have a single real conversation with her
-AFTER FINDING OUT ABOUT ALL OF THAT, Director Clavell mentions how he doesn't have enough credits to graduate and better start studying his ass of *in front of the champion and his 3 friends* (WTF CLAVELL)
-He then proceeds to get his butt kicked in the Academy Ace tournament the second he goes up against you
This poor kid needs therapy ffs, poor little guy, I loved him so much through the story
Arven was my favourite friend in this game. He needs the love.
arven truly felt like your real friend/rival. nemona was the classic rival where they feel a little more shallow and are just there to pose a challenge (but they gave you a reason as to why she's like that sort of) and penny pretty much only pushes the school plot line along. arven connects with you the most, warms up to you, shares personal stuff to you, and really grows to be a good friend who cares about you and who has the most reason to be there at the end. i loved arven

Fun fact! A journal entry you find from Sada somewhere alludes to her husband having just run off at some point, the implication being that that was this universe’s version of Turo. I assume this is the same but reversed in Violet. In case anyone needed ANOTHER reason to feel bad for Arven.
It is indeed reversed in Violet.

And I also know when he went into Area Zero so he can help his parent with their research, he got attacked by a Paradox Pokemon and it's why Masbosstiff suffered those injuries and the motive for why he wanted to find those herbs

Since you lost quite a few Fire-types at the beginning(Charcadet, Scovillain), how about a Fire Monolocke to give those pkmns another chance of glory?
This would also allow the use of the Fire/Fighting Paldean Tauros Form
One of the few times Houndour/Houndoom is possible without eggs too, since it's usually post-game.

Arven really does get done so dirty, which only makes his resolve to prove himself as your friend in post-story content even more commendable. Of course helped by his adorable relationship with Mabosstiff.
I love that you call Skeledirge the coolest fire type evolution. It has gotten some.... mixed reviews from other poketubers. Good to see the design gets some love
I just don't understand how anyone could gaze upon Skeledirge and not love its design. But whatever. To each their own.

In the defense of AI Sada, if she didn’t send herself to the past, Paldea would’ve eventually been overrun by ancient Pokémon, and she did at least give Arven a little closure.
Yeah the choices were go to the past, let time machine keep running, or kill herself to stop it, soooo ultimately probably the least terrible option
She also reveals that she has the same thoughts and emotions as the original. But is never able to call him "Son" or tell him "I love you" directly. I theorise that both her not making contact and traveling to the past is the AI's way of running from the confrontation, fearing that Arven would reject her as she is a "fake".
Wouldn't Sada still be alive then..? it is an AI that cant die.. and the fact that it lasted years without running out of battery means it probably runs off some sort of infinite energy supply.. meaning as long as AI Sada wasn't destroyed.. it should have technically lived all the way up to the time the game takes place again... even though its thousands of years.
Or I am just stupid and tired because I am typing this at 3am
@@NotTheDragon837 She needs to be in area zero to live. The technology used to make her is impossible without those tera crystals that encase the lab. So it’s likely that at most she lasted a few minutes in the past before shutting down. That is, unless the past works differently for whatever reason.

FINALLY, a nuzlocke that actually goes all the way to the true final battle! So tired of everyone else only doing the pokemon league story! Please keep ending your nuzlockes of Scarlet/Violet at the credit roll!
The ones that stop at Geeta annoy me so much. Not least because they then go on to complain that the final fight is underwhelming. You haven’t even finished the quest line!
I was underwhelmed when my pawmo evolved to be honest. But then the little guy proved an invaluable ally to catch pokemon thanks to nuzzle and by the time I finished the game I realized I never left him out of any of my teams. I'm now very attached to him, such a good boy.
I honestly just think the whole line would be better if pawmo was deleted and it was just pawmi and pawmot. Something else after that would be cool too

I like it. It's nice to see a pikachu clone, that isn't JUST a pikachu clone. I'm glad it evolves twice, even if it doesn't change much- in fact I kind of prefer that its appearance doesnt change drastically. Pawmot might be my favorite electric rodent in the series, tbh

My pal, champion of paldea, destroyer of time machines, Focaccia the reliable partner is a normal pawmot and I wouldn't have it any other way.
@@davveromeliloto4306 Alrighty, I do have a similar thing with one of my Tauros(even though I did end up hunting the shiny, due to it being my favorite Pokémon, but it never was the same as the Tauros I had for multiple gens at that point.

You should definitely continue to battle against final boss after the champion in future runs, that's the coolest part of the game imo

It's really cool, but you need to get through a lot more (at times a little tedious) content just for one fight. And if you do it every time, its magic might wear off.

*Raidlocke*. Throughout the game, at any point you want, you can enter one raid per Tera type. You can pick the type, of course, since you can see it on the map, but you don't know what Pokémon it's gonna be and there's no backing out once you check the crystals. It's essentially a built-in randomizer, except you can pick the Tera type for an incoming challenge. For example, if you want to challenge Kofu the Water Leader, you can get your Grass Tera encounter - but it might turn out to be, say, a Charcadet. You never know.
I’d love if Snow boosted Ice types defenses AND retained the chip damage. To make it more like Sandstorm
I did too at first, but sandstorm is a bit less punishing for your own team because it doesnt damage your steel and ground types, hail damages everything not ice so your non-ice types are getting hit each turn as well as the opponent. Maybe if it didnt damage water and... I dont know fire types or something it would be ok to keep the chip damage
@@Tarudizer yeah maybe they could remove damage on water and fire to balance it out. Or remove Sandstorm damage
@@Tarudizer It synergizes well with Magic Guard Pokémon who get Blizzard… in other words literally only Clefable
@@murarmight The most logical types to ignore hail chip are Ice (already did), Fire (heat melts snow), and maybe Water (ice and water are both h2o?). Both of those have a dedicated weather (sun and rain respectovely), so being usable in three of four weathers would be odd.
Gamefreak just felt like Sandstorm shouldnt have a potential competitor
Not going up to the Way Home final boss in future nuzlockes would be a mistake imo, it's certainly more of a 'final boss' in difficulty than anything else in the game

I haven't beaten the game yet, but my favorite Pokemon is a tie between Meowscarada and Tinkaton, personally. Meowscarada is a great final evolution for my favorite starter, and Tinkaton just looks like a DnD character I have. Multiple actually. Plus a few non-DnD characters.

Blinding evolving the dung beetle Pokémon into the scarab was one of the coolest experiences. I loved not having everything spoiled 😍

This game has such a good story. One of the best storylines in pokemon BY FAR. i just wish it was better quality.

It's also noteworthy that the Elite Four and Champion, as far as I know, WILL NOT HEAL.
This game is so weird, because there are some genuinely tricky encounters (Like some of the Team Star bosses, just for their teams/what moves/abilities their cars have), some cleverly designed terastalizing (Iono), and then they don't give the Elite Four any healing items.
I noticed that none of the gyms or elite four have held items either!
@@amblonyxx I mean, that's pretty standard for most mainline titles. I think B2/W2 challenge mode is the only time Gym Leaders/E4 used held items.
@@Iris_1217 BDSP did it as well. Actually, in an ironic twist, it's the only time where most of the Gym Leaders have held items on the whole team.

Greavard became my favorite gen 9 pokemon the moment it was revealed and that hasn't changed a bit after seeing the full dex. A lot of the paradox forms definitely shot up on my overall favorites list as well.
So Arven has no father, no mother, his other robotic parental figure leaves him too and had his best partner dying.
Game Freak, story purposes aside, that's too harsh for our boy Arven.
Awesome video! You should definitely try doing monotype challenges in Scarlet and Violet. There's quite a lot of variety with each type in the Paldea region so I feel like you'll get to use a lot of interesting Pokemon!

Bramblin/Brambleghast are my favorite new 'mons and I cannot explain what it is about them. Hard to pick a favorite though, I absolutely loved all the new ones
I kinda wish the gym leaders had an ace of their type, but used terastellation to get a better type matchup vs their usual weakness. For example giving the bug leader a Vespiquen with tera water or tera rock to counter fire and/or flying types.

I'd love to see a "boss's aces" only run. In this game, you're only allowed to use pokemon that other trainers at some point terastallize, but it wouldn't be that hard to figure out aces for any other gen's bosses. Or maybe inversely, only pokemon used by bosses, but their aces are banned to make it harder? Either way, thanks for the video!

I fricking loved this game and I'm glad you had a good time with it too! It needs some polish in bug fixes, level scaling, etc, but it's a very interesting game that I hope strongly influences future pokemon games. IMO it's just perfect for challenge runs too.
Also please understand, Nurse Joy sending you to your death is no surprise. Since the early games she's told us she hopes to see us again. She's thrilled when you come back injured!

Dude!! As always amazing stuff. You are truly the reason why I started hardcore nuzlocking in the first place and I think its probably fair to say that countless others started from watching your streams as well. Your content is only a small piece of who you are and most of us see the hard work you put in to satisfy our crazy needs. It also helps knowing that your passion for the Pokemon franchise is genuine which makes your vids all the more enjoyable.
With that being said, proud of you too for standing up for yourself and not allowing these key blade warriors to bring you down. I just got into ultra running quite recently and tbh, im getting fairly good at a quick rate. in the beginning I would negative comment after negative comment, EVEN on my race WINS! Over time though, I've learned(and by watching you and some of my other fave poketubers out there) that those people are ignorant and do not know what it takes to be a true ultra and/or Pokemon master. Keep up the good work man and looking forward to the next one(ok but preferably a bug monotype nuzlocke first ijs) lmao.
I’d say my favorite new Pokémon is probably Garganacl. I love the evolution line in general, and it’s an actual good pure rock type!

Dunsparce's evolution actually fits it's dorky ass inspiration because dunsparce is based on an alcoholic snake dragon that is super fat and round because it's consumed way too much sake (a kind of japanese alcohol). Giving it a goofy evolution makes sense and I love it.
What?? Dunsparce is based on the Tsuchinoko..it has no relevance to "alcoholic dragons" from what I can find?? They're just chonky venomous snakes, it says they're fond of sake but not that they're round because of it. They're actually quite terrifying in the folklore (despite their thicker bodies seeming "goofy" now-a-days)..they could jump very high, were quite nimble, and their bite deadly.
So you're telling me the deadbeat mom was actually just dead the whole time ?

Personally I think Nuzlockes should end at the Nemona fight (or Area Zero), cause tbh the Greeta fight is really lackluster compared to the final rival battle.
my game crashed right after Tulips gym challenge... only crash I've had so far too, and my last save, was right before the challenge.
I literally just saw that, looked tulip in the eye, and flew away to go take out every single other gym leader I had left instead.
Seeing you laugh at 2:30 was so funny to me, since I started with Fuecoco as well.
I was screwed over by the levels as well. Haven't checked anything before going into the game and totally thought at first that the level will be scaled to my progress in the game.
