Gen vazov is internationaly known for defeating the british french forces at the battle of lake doyran during ww1 and years after in 1935 when there was a memorial in london he was invited and when he walked in the prossesion the leading officer of the parade said put the flags down,cause it is the hero and winner of doyran who is walking .....it was the greatest defeat of the british army ever when in a single day they lost 50 000 soldiers and not from colonial troops.....later gen vazov became mayor of sofia and one of the best and women from pleven was going in line to bring him gifts,cause he brought almost the whole 35 000 pleven devision back home and their husbands were alive,his defence strategy is studied in many academies arround the world today....he was known to be gentleman in battle smth that the british generals admited later,cause he let the brits take their dead and bury them properly,even bulgarian soldiers was burying some of the fallen englishmen
Ruse and Pleven have a more Central European vibe. Kailaka Park which is a bit outside of Pleven centre is very beautiful. Pleven is also the city with the largest number of trolleybuses lines in Bulgaria. Pleven´s centre changed quite a lot if you compare it 20 years ago similar to numerous Bulgarian towns. The Pleven Epopee also outside the city centre is an absolute must. Imo, Pleven is severly underrated and met some of the nicest people there. They have a harsh Western dialect similar to the one in Sofia but a bit different. Amazing video! I love Pleven a lot.
You are very correct. I also agree that Pleven is very underrated, which is strange as it is a lovely place. I think in general Bulgaria is very bad at marketing itself as a tourist destination. We can definitely learn from the Greek.
@@kosmicheskiprah Doing a walking video for 10 minutes only will be a very short walk and cover like 2 streets. Usually for walking videos what I see is 40min -1 hour long videos. This type of content is for specific people who actually want to see what a city looks like. Sadly UA-cam shorts and TikTok have made peoples attention span drop to a level of a 3 year old child :D
