Really getting tired of hearing about billionaires that don't pay taxes?
With any luck, Democrats seize the House majority. Once they oust Maga Mike, they can change that.
Actually that is a tale almost as old as taxes themselves.
As soon as taxation has existed there have been elites who thought themselves above them. That they should not serve society but that society should serve them.
The rise and fall of empires and even the quality of their rulers can often be extrapolated of rather or not they could make the social elite pay taxes. Those who could then could grow and use that money for more productive ends. While those that couldn't would be torn apart by division of those elites.

It's appalling that Trump charges the Secret Service airfare to travel with him on a plane that is probably more than half empty on most of his campaign trips. His greed has no limit. For those who claim that Biden's trips to Delaware are comparable to Trump's trips to Florida, the fuel requirements alone are significantly different.

I am right there with you! I raised 2 visually impaired boys. 1 had multiple surgeries, doc appts 1.5 hours away 1 way. I had to to work 2-3 jobs, husband held FT laboring job & we struggled to put food on the table. Still do, even though the kids are in their 30's, the medical & other bills we got behind on bc kids came first, don't go away. Rich people? Ah I don't wanna PAY THAT, so they don't & can hold up the courts so long that the person they ripped off can't afford to cont to litigate. Ridiculous
As Elizabeth Warren says - if every really wealthy person paid 1% more Tax per annum it would help to cover needed costs like every level of state education, social welfare for elderly, medical science research and medical assistance for chronic sufferers etc. A country as rich as USA should not have so many poor and struggling citizens.

The IRS was going on taxes prepared by MAZARS USA, a highly reputable company. MAZARS also trusted the information that Trump Org was providing. Trump wasn't paying any taxes because he was able to literally "write off" all the costs for building the Chicago Tower because in 2008 he was unable to lease more than 10% of the space (Think Recession) and the IRS agreed the building was a total loss under the tax code. So, Trump was able to write off all the costs for the building between 2008 and 2015. During this time, he was also raking in upwards of $6 million per season for The Apprentice, and still had his revenue from Trump Org. So he was able to earn a lot of money, and because of the write off, didn't have to pay more than the $750 filing fee. Now here's the real kicker. As the recession ended, Trump was able to fully lease the building which he still owned and all that income was tax free because of the write off. Think he's done yet, heck no. At some point, once he had used all the tax write off, he transferred ownership of the building from one LLC to another LLC, and started writing off the loss all over again - that's tax fraud. Trump owned both LLC's. A lot of this was recently exposed in an investigative journalism piece by the NY Times and Politico. They determined at a minimum Trump has defrauded the American Taxpayer for over $150 million on this one fraud alone. So hopefully, FBI and IRS and even NY State needs to look into this and if they confirm the reporting, as a minimum I'm sure NY will go after him again.

PACs have different rules for donations than individual campaign funds do. That's why we've seen such a huge increase in them since the Citizens United decision.
