I played 100 days of Dinkum! I've been so excited about this Aussie-style life sim game which is like combining Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley and Minecraft, all of which are favourites of mine! I'd usually have goals for these sorts of videos but as I played it from the day it released I wasn't yet sure what was possible! Here's how it went....

You definitely should! Maybe a goal could be to meet some of the people you haven't yet?
i vote yes! I think some good goals could be: Get to Five Hearts with three other residents, trap and send off one of each color Diggo, and upgrade your house one more time!

Oh, as I found out after playing for several in-game years: you do not have to donate critters to the museum one by one. You can select multiple critters and donate them all with one 'click'.
I just found out this came in an update in March 2023 so if you started playing before that, that would be why you've only found out later on! definitely WAY past this video though! they've done so many quality of life updates its unreal (and amazing!)

If you haven't figured it out yet, you can use the guitar to "pet" your animals! Just play it around them and it works the same as petting them.
omg didn't know this! thanks! i thought it was a bit like the whistles but universal, not that it "pets" them too!
This was a lot of fun. I think I’ll probably buy the game when it’s out for Switch.

Yes, seems console versions are planned for after early access so will probably be a while!

Thats a neat steady progress for a 100 days, i wish i started some things sooner on my town instead of abusing the metal detector for far too many days to get disks and parts to make a massive ammount of money but neglected the npc favours and only now making the place starting to look like a town. Nice video and its cool to see someone that loves this gem of a game :)

omg I knew this would be a lot like animal crossing, but it goes above and beyond what I expected. The UI looks like they got it right from AC. Also seeing Theodore have nearly the same exact argyle sweater as Blathers is just crazy.
Just discovered this video after watching a bunch of your Stardew content. I already have Dinkum on my wishlist but seeing it all in action here has me tempted to buy it while it's still in early access instead of waiting for release :D you make it all look so fun.

Love this for rewatching! I’ve been playing through the game myself, and I’m almost through autumn and it’s such a slow grind for me. I haven’t been making nearly enough dinks and Franklin has only shown up once. ): but I’m having fun nonetheless!

You wake up in the elevator now??? Oh, thank God! It was so annoying losing 25,000 Dinks to a Tasmanian Devil and Glowing Croc ambush just as you open the doors. Either they seriously increased the spawn rate of rubies, or you're insanely lucky... it was always so hard to find any in my game! I may go back to Dinkum soon, they've updated a lot! :D
This video was great. i honestly enjoyed it with many smiles along the way. I'm sold on getting this game now for the whole game play loop and constant discovery.

This game is phenomenal. I loved Animal Crossing, but it managed to get boring. This game was great because it kind of took what Animal Crossing could do and expanded on it. I can't wait for updates. I got the helicopter and I can't think of what to do next

Watching the game trailer and seeing its pictures on Steam definitely didn't sell it to me. But only 3 minutes of your video made me jump out of bed and buy it, I really underestimated this game, thanks for the video!

Lovely video. I just got the game and played about 30 days so far. I wanted to figure out everything on my own but after I started the video I didn't want to turn it off! I planned to stop when it reached my progress then come back later but I'm glad I kept watching because now I know I need to plan my space a bit better, so thanks. I'll watch the second part when I'm at least 100 days in!

Love this game, a more rustic Animal Crossing/Starlight Valley hybrid.
I don't know if you have learnt the fishing cheat yet, but just spam the button and the fish won't escape.
I did feel upset though that your animals haven't all been given a sleeping place 😢

Nice town layout! One thing, BBQ grills (sold by John) cook twice as fast as campfires, and you can't set yourself on fire. I think I saw one at day 78, so I'm a little confused about all the self-immolation.
I liked having them for decoration til I moved everything around!
I didn't know the ruby's despawn. I've seen people use them as decoration! Also, I can't bring myself to go to the mines. I hate the aggressive animals in this game. :(
i dont think they were supposed to despawn! it might have been an update that caused it or just something with my game at that point because it was much closer to when it released when that happened! the aggressive animals are SO annoying, i agree!

It’s because animal crossing is really just a decorating/ town building game while this has that and more. Not to mention this game isn’t in real time and is cheaper

I know it probably is an unpopular opinion but I honestly like this game more than Animal Crossing. I still love Animal Crossing but Dinkum just had that extra bit of charm and coziness I was looking for
i felt this as well! it's got a bit of extra flare, and im excited to see how it develops in future because im gutted about the complete abandonment of ACNH
9:19 I though that too, before going “wait, what if I click on all of them?” And it let me click on all of them, then hitting donate; he took all of them and thanked me for all of them. I wish I knew that from the start tbh lol
so for me for this video it wasnt a thing yet! turns out it was added in a later update and that's SO exciting!!!

You know, unless it was changed in a patch, things like rubies shouldn't despawn. They *can* sink, though. I would try digging in the place that you left them if you can remember where it was.
