#6 **BONUS TIP** - This was the first E-mount camera to implement EYE-PRIORITY AF... it can only be used in AF-S mode and you do have to assign a button on the camera to activate it... but it works perfect with my Zeiss Touit 32mm f1.8 E-mount lens on my own A6000.
I just came across your video! Thanks so much for the tips! I've had this camera for a long time, but recently I've noticed that every time I take out the battery to charge it and put it back in, the camera always asks me to set the date and time. Have you experienced this? And do you know how to fix it, please?
Hi @kooklapanda7594! Glad the video was helpful! Yes, the date and time resetting is a known issue with the A6000. It’s likely due to a small capacitor inside the camera that’s meant to hold those settings. Over time, it can lose its ability to retain the date and time when the main battery is removed. One tip is to try and keep the main battery in the camera or put it back as soon as possible after charging-it can sometimes help. Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!
thank you very much for the information. this is a big help to me because my sister gave me a sony a6000 camera and I don't know how to use it properly.
You're welcome! I'm glad to hear that the information was helpful to you. The Sony a6000 is a fantastic camera with a lot of capabilities, and I understand that getting started can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. If you have any specific questions about using the camera or need tips on certain features, feel free to ask. There are plenty of resources online, including tutorials and user guides, that can assist you in becoming more familiar with your new camera. With practice, you'll soon be capturing wonderful photos and exploring the creative possibilities it offers. Enjoy your photography journey with the Sony a6000, Cheers!
Thanks for the video. Interesting to watch, however some menu slides would have been useful. I don't find the sleep mode that you were talking about for example
Thanks for the feedback, Victoria! I appreciate you watching the video. You're right-adding menu slides could definitely help with clarity. If you're using the Sony A6000, you can find the sleep mode by navigating to Menu > Setup > Power Save. From there, you can adjust the auto-off timer settings. I'll make sure to include clearer menu slides in future videos to help with things like this. Let me know if you have any more questions!
@victoriamarkova2992 Awesome, glad you found it helpful! Setting it to 1 minute should definitely help conserve battery life. Thanks again for the suggestion about the menu slides-I'll make sure to include those in future videos. Let me know if anything else comes up!
Hey! Yeah, great question. This camera is great for street photography and I would check out the Sony 16-50 kit lens. They are cheap and look great! Here is a video I made about that lens. ua-cam.com/video/4XWwDo7aMI8/v-deo.html I would also go for any manual vintage lens with an adapter. Cheers!
Always better options out there then the kit lens, but for the price and such it is kinda a steal. if you have the budget, try different lenses and see what you personally like better.
@KarlWeinreich yes but when you consider value more than the price point, I would suggest someone to go for an 18-105mm f4 G lens from sony. It would be better for street photography and will provide a much better value for the price you are spending. Personally I use the sony 50mm f1.8 oss lens but that's for my specific niche of shoots, would recommend a 50mm prime for random street candid photography.
The Sony A6000 doesn’t have a built-in time-lapse feature out of the box, but you can still do time-lapse photography with it! There are a couple of ways to achieve this: Intervalometer: You can use an external intervalometer, which is a remote that allows you to take a series of photos at set intervals. This is the easiest and most straightforward method. Sony PlayMemories App: If you can find it, the PlayMemories Camera App used to offer a time-lapse app that you could install on the A6000, but it’s no longer officially supported. However, if you already have it installed or can find a workaround, this can be an option. Manual Method: You can manually shoot a sequence of photos at regular intervals, then compile them into a time-lapse using video editing software. Once you have your shots, you can easily compile them into a time-lapse in post-production. Thanks for the comment, Cheers!
Hey thanks for this. There is this feature on my a6000 that automatically takes an extra cut out of the face when I take a normal picture of a person...how do I disable that ? And what is it called?
I far as i have found on YT connecting to your A6000 phone is only possible with a hack with A6100 firmware, do you have another way to connect it to your phone?
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, the Sony A6000 doesn’t natively support the same phone connectivity features as the A6100 or newer models. While there are some hacks involving firmware, I wouldn’t recommend that route as it could risk damaging the camera. For basic file transfers, you can still use Sony’s PlayMemories app to transfer images via Wi-Fi, but for live view or more advanced remote control, upgrading to a newer model like the A6100 would be the better option. Thanks for the comment, cheers!
Another issue I have is I record in 4:3 and when I import into favinci its always elongated from one side and I have to manually multiply the zoom by 1.33x of one side ...how do I avoid or automate that ?
Again on this one. You may want to check your input guides as there be something messed up or the camera has an issue as it can't record in 4:3 Ratio. Only 16:9. I will looking into this one for you also.
Hi, on my A6000 to use the viewfinder I just hold the view finder up to my eye and it switches autmtically to the view finder and then if I take my eye off the view finder...it switches back...walla!!!! I have a very smart camera I guess...🤣
Hi @dotandcaseytoo, Thanks for sharing your experience! Yes, the Sony A6000 has a smart feature that automatically switches between the viewfinder and the LCD screen based on proximity. It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying this convenient function! Cameras these days really do make photography a lot more intuitive and fun. 📸😄 Happy shooting!
My only improvement to this video would be to show how you change these settings on the camera - for us visual learners :)
Great idea! I will make an update in the future. Thanks for the comment, Cheers!

How about the sony a6000 camera for street photography only?Which lens would be better? Which contains stabilizer?

I would suggest you to go for some other lens for street photography...16-50 would do the job but the results won't be the best you could get

Another tip for new a6k users: don't be afraid to try manual focus lenses! You'll save a boatload of money and it's a fun experiment. :)
Great tip! Cheers!
Bro! Would you plz suggest me some manual lenses for this!
For real estate photography, and portrait???
Canon fd lenses are always good ones.

For XAVC-S to work, you need a 64GB card.
Good to know, I guess none of my cards are lower then 64GB so I haven't ran into that issue.
Just turned on a little Karl to hear your voice 😊
That makes my heart warm! Miss you guys!
