One thing has to be the driving & shooting mechanics. They're more complex & the speedrunner has to give 110% to be as fast as possible. Tbh watching speedruns has helped improve my precision with my own gameplay lol :3
Watching a dance sets you on mission 0, then you can start any random encounter or friend activity during that mission (other missions/races/jacob jobs/fixer/most wanted/Jeff result in a crash). Then I start Cherise encounter and fail it, and that removes the helicopter you're supposed to take down (you have to initiate the chase first). The trick could've seen more use but strippers only spawn when you approach the club while not on mission, so only phone missions and Catch the Wave work. There is also another setup for similar trick with Vigilante, which is used in Any%.

Well that'd be a long list of minor things, run isn't as technical as 3d games i think it's pretty straight forward. I replied to mehmet.6553 regarding om0 trick (the only one in the run), other than that there's not much that you can't spot while watching, like skipping some chases or shootouts. I may or may not make a video on IV speedrunning things in the future! Oh yeah i guess there is a trick where you can taxi anywhere/into blue hell by removing the marker while selecting destination. And you can trigger Brucie Exports marker midair instead of going into garage. The main challenge for me was keeping track of pigeons and trying to follow the plan regarding phonecalls and missions unlocked (it's kinda complicated in this game)
thanks, i set view distance on 1 to have less parked cars on the road, and the setting is somehow always glitched from a fresh game start; also 1 vehicle density for less traffic
@@good__ron4032 Ah makes sense, didn't even know these settings exist, only played for like 10 hours. I've noticed there's quite a few bugs, and weird animations when jumping, sometimes going into cars etc. Maybe thats just PC version issues.
ty, a lot of stratagems has been found and no one did too many attempts with them. generally this run is one big randomizer where you gotta get lucky but also play good also Sorvi had a ~40min better run than his PB on speedrun.com but the recording got corrupted near the end, and that was like his only attempt (and he was looking for last pigeon for 20 mins xd)
@@good__ron4032damn, I was doing a casual 100% and missed a pigeon in dukes which took me an hour to figure out, can't imagine how it must feel to miss one in a speedrun
i was just copying better drivers this whole time. Breaking in advance is important. Tapping W helps with turning. Other than that, it's all about racing lines.
