- Nigeria's Tobi Amusan became the first Nigerian Woman to win a World Championships title when she won the 100m hurdles title in Eugene.
She speaks about her journey full of hurdles from right within her family all the way to the finish line.

Her da'ddy's pepper is commonplace in our tradition as Nigerians. They want the best for their childrren like any other parent around the world. Tobi herself is humble and well raised. Great future for her.

Her parents have no issues, believe me. They are just worried sick for their daughter. When you live below the poverty line or have experienced being poor in Nigeria, you are thinking long term and things that can give you financial edge and comfort. As an athlete, the truth is that she has a few years ahead of her professionally before she begins to slow down naturally. What does she fall back on? Don't blame a parent for wanting what they think is best for their children. That is not to say that their choices are always right but they make those decisions based on their experiences.
And exactly what has that got to do with her racing. As if you and your parents are holy. without issues.
