I have made a similar comment before on this aircraft. The great improvement in batteries has had a big affect on the use of electric motors and with their versatility can be easily placed anywhere as Lilium have done and put them in ducts to give efficient lift , propulsion and control to the aircraft. The fact that they also give maximum torque on start up is also a tremendous advantage. I am a retired Aeronautical Engineer having worked at Canadair, Boeing the RCAF and Certification Engineer for Transport Canada. Keep it up Lilium.
I have been a pilot and involved in aviation all my life with couple thousands hours of time in the air with my own twin engine Piper ,, and many more thousands hours in cabin doing avionics remodeling and repairs . I admire the enthusiasm that you have conveyed to this project and I can offer my humble opinion I also understand that your enthusiasm and energy comes from the idea of rendering a new concept to aviation , I have also felt the need to leave a new concept for posterity which is a very noble idea indeed . In the old days they were saying that "aviation advanced one funeral at a time" and that is very true but I have the feeling that you guys have not heard of that adage or completely ignore such a hard gained observation,, you all studied aerodynamics to a very specialized level and now are applying that knowledge to your new concepts but I feel that you are not paying attention to a 100 years of air science experience and trying to jump into these concepts only standing in your newly acquired knowledge which for now seems to be enough rather like an ET that was granted permission to come to earth to prove his air thesis since his home planet has no air !!! is not my interest to be a hard critic but to point out that is not easy to make a "reliable cost efficient good performing aircraft" .. You have strapped electric turbofans to a Velocity shaped PC , ignored the natural stability of an empennage , the foolproof reliability of control surfaces and expected to propel it by a battery that stores energy in its weak atomic "electrovalent links" ,ignoring the superb energy density storage of covalent links of the hydrocarbons fossil fuel chains ,,, Perhaps this is the direction that overly optimistic money funding government entities desire and that is also a good source to make use of your expertise but understanding its intrinsic overlapping complexity I will easily forecast that will never be a superseded version of existing aircraft .
They are trying to market an idea that simply cannot work. They would have to completely redesign this for it to have any reasonable chance of lifting a 200KG+ payload weight.
Love learning about the tech and design principles of the ducted fans. Really interesting, thanks! Any thoughts on electric ducted fans’ performance at higher altitudes, could they do the job of turbofans at 35-45k ft for instance?
How does multiple electrical motors constitute "jet engines" when powering this aircraft?? My experience with jet-powered engines didn't include electric motors to drive fans when providing the power to make the aircraft fly! Please explain the requirement for batteries to drive the multiple fans!! 🤔🤫🤩
I know I'm interested. Ever since I first seen your concept a few years back I thought it was pretty cool and now it's just amazingly beautiful. When I'm ready to buy I hope the 5 seat'er is available for purchase. In the mean time I'll be taking ultra lite flight lessons. Will there be any differences in piloting the jet when compared to other types of aircraft and will it have full auto pilot for nav and vtol?
It’s not a “jet” so should have the same certification as a helicopter since it does do VTOL minus autorotation as it would glide like an airplane in the extremely unlikely event of total loss of power.
It will be interesting to see what gap this aircraft fills in the transportation industry and how the company will work out the kinks of logistics. Currently it feels a bit awkward for me, only thing that's exciting about it, is that it's full electric and I'm not sure that will be enough.
Cost savings and low noise allows inner city flight without the restrictions of extremely noisy and expensive helicopters. That’s the niche I see it taking over initially - inner and intra city flights for business owners who have the finances and need for quick travel but don’t own their own aircraft and can’t justify chartering flights. It’s a very lucrative niche that Lilium could survive entirely in without need of expansion though of course that’s not the transformative vision of Lilium’s CEO.
It doesnt work! No flight time and no range...max. 5 min, 5 miles. Its useless. EDF powered and no lift from wings when powered down. No cargo losd and no manned flight possibilities. Whats the use? No battery exists. Please stop this nonsense !
I idea is very cool, however, you can improve performance by using TOROIDAL impellers and RAXIAL electric motors, This way the numbers of jets may be reduced.
What if most of it was built out of stainless steel, instead of carbon fiber? Cutting the build cost by 75%, even better because most of the body hold up o 60% more high density batteries to triple the range!
This is a great company to work for! I'm very proud that I will be part of this new technology. Thanks Lilium

It's smoke and mirrors.
Hard work will pay off, guys. Tune out the noise and stay focused! Cheers
Completely fascinated, could have watched hours more.
Great idea, beautiful engineering. Love your project (and bought your stock). Wish you all the best!

what?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your innovation and ability to look at a problem as a challenge... I wish you the BIGGEST SUCCESS
The future needs a Lilium.
I want lilium merch now. the sweaters are awesome!
We're staring at future transportation right here. Go get 'em guys!
looks amazing
Very cool
but the biggest question is:
CAN IT DO A LOOPING???
They are trying to market an idea that simply cannot work. They would have to completely redesign this for it to have any reasonable chance of lifting a 200KG+ payload weight.
They will SPAC via Qell Acquisition corp. Dont miss opportunity
Ultra nice!
I'm invested, market cap is great right nkw
this shit gonna be so fye to fly in

Dímelo en español.
I want to contribute my part to this all time greatest innovation

Can anyone, how much energy is consumed by lilium 7 seater while hovering??

it would be good for Daniel to take some lessons in Hand Talking, describing with hands. We all could probably.
😎👍
Far too little info on the batteries. Makes it seem like this is actually a major gap in capability and IP at Lilium
It doesnt work! No flight time and no range...max. 5 min, 5 miles. Its useless. EDF powered and no lift from wings when powered down. No cargo losd and no manned flight possibilities. Whats the use? No battery exists. Please stop this nonsense !
14:04 a aeronave é tão revolucionária que até o ET em seu UAP ficou curioso 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hypertheticly, if all power was lost could it glide or would it fall out of the sky ?
Lilium and Joby are actually passionate about this... Meanwhile Archer is talking about "core values" and HR bullshit 🤣
I idea is very cool, however, you can improve performance by using TOROIDAL impellers and RAXIAL electric motors, This way the numbers of jets may be reduced.
But can you make one that looks like a Piper Cub? (sarcasm)
Rain? What then.

Why the instability at takeoff??
This video gives 0 information. You need details if what your batteries are good at.
nice but cannot be realised with current tech. maybe in 15years. will the company bankrupt ? my opinion is yes
