my mum grew up watching starsky and hutch and loves Paul Michael Glaser she loves s and h and hb and still watches you guys all the time on her phone and now she as got a toy striped so and h car and battery operated police motorbike for her grandsons and they call themselves starsky and hutch from teresa love Paul and David and great friendships like yours are hard to come by with love to Paul David and Antonio s and h lives on
Could there be 2 more beautiful guys in this world than them!! They had everything going for them, especially their looks!! Will always love Starsky and Hutch!!!
yes long live these guys love them both very much and watched this shoe religiously ever time came on and still do to this day when catch it I'm glad you guys are doing so well love ya both and god bless💜
I remember those years always looked forward to seeing these guys. Had an eye for David Soul (Hutch). They played the role very good. Wish it never end.
I fell in love with them immediately. Starsky was my man!!! I collected everything on them. I dreamed that Starsky would rescue me from bad guys. I was just a kid but I loved them and was so sad when they quit the show. I'm so happy I got the DVDs from their show. They had a chemistry. I still love them. I felt so bad for Paul losing his wife and daughter. Hope he's happy now but know losing them was heartbreaking and he never got over it.
I never watched the movie, because you can't possibly replicate the chemistry (or looks) of the original actors. In fact, I don't remember any remake being very successful. Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul had something special.
You are absolutely right! No one can duplicate their chemistry. There was absolutely no chemistry between Stiller & Wilson. Even that scene where he was touching his hair was not funny & lacked the friendship, love, caring , and chemistry that always came across in the series. I have never watched the movie & never will.
I will be a fan until I die. They were the ruination of my hormones when I was a teenager. So were Johnny and Roy from Emergency! To this day I love both shows, have them all on dvd. They still bring my hormones back to life but not like when I was a teen!!
I was and still am a super fan of them! I've never watched the film ... What a stupid thing to do ... They were unique , their chemistry, their sense of humour, their loveliness is unforgettable. I really love them....
They made it real as life would be in the fight scences, they also had a lot of energy, Paul could run at a grwat speed, he would have been good in the Olympics, brilliant performance all round, thank you guy's xxx
sierria64 Starsky's always been my man! I was too young to watch the show when it first aired, but I fell in love with Starsky watching the reruns in the early 80s. He was my first crush, and I like him still to this day! :-)
LOVE LOVE. THE. STORY TOO. MY .FAVE. MEN. FROM. THE. 70 S. RIP & FLY. HIGH WITH THE ANGELS DAVID. WE ALL MISS. YOU. .YOU LL. ALWAYS. BE. REMEMBERED. ALWAYS. BUT. NOT. .FORGOTTEN. BUDDY. JESUS. LOVES. US. ALL. RIP. & FLY HIGH DAVID. BUDDY. ❤❤😢😢😮😮😇🙏😇🙏❤️💜🌹💐
I don't usually like to say negative things about people doing their jobs but that interview was pretty bad. I grew up watching these two guys. These are some of the best memories I have with my pops. Here I go again but I didn't care for the movie (sorry). I know that the actors will never see this but I would like to thank them some day for the show. I like to think that my dad and I were their biggest fans. S&H for life!!
IMO, these guys were sooooo gracious to stars of this movie, because the movie was crap (except for Snoop Dogg's portrayal of Huggy Bear, which was excellent). Although the show definitely had some funny moments, it was also the grittiest cop show on TV, especially that first season----so how does anyone make a *spoof film* of Starsky and Hutch!? SMDH...
@@evaquinn3404 I agree completely! I don't remember any specifics from the show but always had the impression that Hutch was basically a hippie who became a cop, somehow, because he wanted to help others while Starsky (being the 1970s) was a Vietnam veteran, not necessarily ex-special forces but had seen a lot of combat, wasn't quite an out-of-control type but still liked to bust heads. Just my impressions...but I hope one day someone "revisits" this property with a *real* movie. Starsky and Hutch deserve (d) better than this (and I'm not just saying that because it was my favorite show back in the day, LOL)
They were very polite here because they didn't like the movie at all. David clearly said in another interview the movie sucked. And he's right. It didn't only suck but imo it's an insult. It's a parody. And Snoop Dogg did a horrible job playing Huggy Bear. Huggy wasn't a pimp like Snoop Dogg played him. He wasn't a pimp at all.
That was the worst interviewer - the man didn't even get the color of the car right and then asks them about the violence and when they start to respond he cuts them off and ends the interview. Not planned very well.
Their trying to be nice, but Ive heard them say in other/later interviews that the movie SUCKED! but later on they came to realize that it was a "compliment" as David said as much as it could be I guess, but to "true fans" of the show itself, we know The "Starsky & Hutch movie" could never hold a candle to the actual show!
Soul and Glaser are being very diplomatic here. While Stiller's Starsky was pretty good, the movie was more an insult to the original show than a compliment.
Well for me personally I enjoyed the film and I also like the fact that they kept this a period piece and had it take place in the decade that the original series came out of. Plus I don't look at it as a mockery of the original series I see it as people who grew up on the original series and loved it.., wanted to honor it and do it justice while having fun with it at the same time.
I think David had trouble with his teeth in this interview; I do not know WTF! My God, I loved these guys back in the day; OMG, this is painful to watch because of the interviewer.
We need to pressure NECA toys to make either 7 inch action figures or 8 inch retro Mego-style tribute figures as they've done with Rambo, Planet Of The Apes, The Lone Ranger and Arnold Schwarzenegger from Commando and Predator. NECA is our only hope.
The film did suck without question. Okay it was a 'send up', personally I don't think it should have been. would've been good to see a really gritty take on the show.
I saw the movie first, then tried to watch the show and couldn't get into it. (Only because I had found out that the Original "Starsky" actually hated the Gran Torino, and purposely tried to wreck them all the time. He would have preferred to have a convertable Camaro.. How gay.)
MJP DO Lester Holt is a veteran journalist who is very good at what he does. But, it's possible that in this situation he was given the assignment at the last minute and because he's so good he was able to pull off an interview having not had a chance to do much research at all. This happens in interview situations all the time. The producer of the show will let them know literally shortly before the interview happens that certain guests are coming on the set and he has basically no time to do research yet has to pull off a polished interview. That's not the kind of situation you typically give somebody who doesn't know what they're doing because it would take a professional to be able to handle it. That's a producer's decision not the interviewer's fault. I've seen Lester Holt's work and when he does his own projects that he puts together he meticulously does research and televises very in-depth interviews.
It's a bit annoying and awkward that they were asked to address an important point of criticism on the series (excessive violence) out of left field, and then immediately told they were out of time for any response. Bad timing, bad play.
Steven Seagal Wish I could help you, it has the sound of the "elevator music" that was used in the show. Since this was a scene from the movie of 2004 which I HATE, I would try googling the music used in the movie. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
#11 thumbs-down I am! Interviewer was ridiculous! The lame man calling Starsky's car "orange"!? Proves he did not watch many, if ANY, episodes of Starsky & Hutch. Ben Stiller nor Owen Wilson did a good job, or, they did a good job of making Starsky & Hutch look like idiots. The Gran Torinos used in the movie were 1974 models rather than the 1975 models driven by Paul.
Did you also like Rockford and Mannix? I never cared for 3's Company, Happy Days was only decent in the first season, then it became the Fonzie show. I really liked the 60's comedy shows better on the whole. In the 70's, Bob Newhart, Taxi, Rhoda and Barney Miller and All in the Family were some of the best of the best shows. MASH was good at first but then became the Alan Alda show. Comedy isn't what it used to be that's for sure.
Starsky and Hutch came out the year I got my drivers license. I so wanted that car. The TV show was terrific, the movie sucked big time. But then anything with snoop dogg in it is going to suck.
I have a question. from yrs of watching s/h growing up. I didn't like the movie at all severely disappointed it would have been great if they would have brought David and Michael in and did the movie without it being a spoof
Starsky and Hutch were my absolute favorite show of all time
Mediocre show at best.

David Soul has always been liked a lot in England and he and Paul had a class act with S&H which was a must-see on BBC TV here.
Could there be 2 more beautiful guys in this world than them!! They had everything going for them, especially their looks!! Will always love Starsky and Hutch!!!
I totally agree 💙💙
Absolutely. the originals the best ever❤❤ best looking men
I'm quite sure that are.
Always nice to hear their thoughts, classy and cool
yes long live these guys love them both very much and watched this shoe religiously ever time came on and still do to this day when catch it I'm glad you guys are doing so well love ya both and god bless💜
Ooh what an abrupt ending..how rude, lol! Loved David's comment about continuing next week. Great interview .

I remember those years always looked forward to seeing these guys. Had an eye for David Soul (Hutch). They played the role very good. Wish it never end.
I love the serie Starsky and Hutch. I love the actors Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul. They are gorgeous together.
I would be deeply gradified if the starsky and hutch original series would be brought back to television. It is myall time favorite show.
Sitting her watching this and I'm still in love with David Soul!
Sitting here watching and still in love PMG
I fell in love with them immediately. Starsky was my man!!! I collected everything on them. I dreamed that Starsky would rescue me from bad guys. I was just a kid but I loved them and was so sad when they quit the show. I'm so happy I got the DVDs from their show. They had a chemistry. I still love them. I felt so bad for Paul losing his wife and daughter. Hope he's happy now but know losing them was heartbreaking and he never got over it.
Blew me away when I learned that Paul had directed a number of Miami Vice episodes. Saddening when he lost his wife years back.
these guys always had me rolling on the show.
I never watched the movie, because you can't possibly replicate the chemistry (or looks) of the original actors. In fact, I don't remember any remake being very successful. Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul had something special.
totally agree, i could never watch the owen & wilson film i would always be comparing and i'm afraid David & Paul would always come out on top !!
You are absolutely right! No one can duplicate their chemistry. There was absolutely no chemistry between Stiller & Wilson. Even that scene where he was touching his hair was not funny & lacked the friendship, love, caring , and chemistry that always came across in the series. I have never watched the movie & never will.
Even in this interview all those years later you can see and feel the chemistry between them. Not something you see to often.
I will be a fan until I die. They were the ruination of my hormones when I was a teenager. So were Johnny and Roy from Emergency! To this day I love both shows, have them all on dvd. They still bring my hormones back to life but not like when I was a teen!!
On the show, Starsky always used to say when Hutch insulted his car that his car was candy apple red.
I was and still am a super fan of them! I've never watched the film ... What a stupid thing to do ... They were unique , their chemistry, their sense of humour, their loveliness is unforgettable. I really love them....
I have 2 friends that are really good friends of david soul and they say he is just about the nicest guy you could ever meet.
WoW , lucky you ...maybe you could meet him one day...
Me too......posters galore all over my wall!
They made it real as life would be in the fight scences, they also had a lot of energy, Paul could run at a grwat speed, he would have been good in the Olympics, brilliant performance all round, thank you guy's xxx
Love these guys!
These guys deserved a better interviewer and lots more time to talk.
Two loves of my life.
Minha série favorita na década de 70.
Ainda assisto no TCM.
Amo! 👋👋👋👍👍😍😍😘😘🇧🇷
Wow, Paul looks really healthy despite Hutch trying to be healthy during the show. LoL I still love both of them.
Just met them today....dream come true. And HUGGY BEAR too!
Siempre adorables, seductores, bellos. Idolos de mi vida. Argentina
YEAH. MINE TOO I ADORED THE SHOW AS WELL.

What kind of interview is this? How do you end an interview right when it starts to get interesting?
for me my weekend growing up was S&H and the dukes of hazzard the best 2 shows on tv ever.
Hermoso video.

Yeah not a good film, but definitely a love-letter to the original. They tried, but f course, the shoes are too big to fill.
Souvenir !!
Soul and Glaser are being very diplomatic here. While Stiller's Starsky was pretty good, the movie was more an insult to the original show than a compliment.
+jordanthecat I came out of the theater ANGRY at those involved in the movie! The movie seemed to say the series was a joke.
You could not possibly recreate these two again, or the music and 70s vibe of the time. At least we have the originals to watch over and over.
That’s the only interview I have ever seen that they ever gave a complement to the movie, usually they said they absolutely hated it 😲
Well for me personally I enjoyed the film and I also like the fact that they kept this a period piece and had it take place in the decade that the original series came out of.

+Pedro Jenking Ortega They are both of Jewish heritage.
I disagree. He doesn't look anything like Paul. Paul is still very handsome at 80 and very sweet!

"I'm not one to gossip...BUT the word on the street is......"
Growing up my brother had a 74 Dodge Dart Sport Coupe with a 360 motor painted exactly like the Torino to include the rims... that thing could fly....
Why can't they leave the original old shows alone. Everyone of the movies made has sucked.
PAUL. IS SOO SILLY
just when the interview was getting intresting, they ran out of time as allways..lol
Concordo com você. Dois tipos diferentes, e lindos! O moreno é muito sensual e forte, sorriso lindo!
Zeeeeeeebra three ............
Terrible host interviewing these legends! Do your homework man!!
very bad

orange?
What a nut calling the Torino orange.. Geez..
Sorry but they were not Starsky & Hutch. Paul Michael Glaser & David Soul were the only Starsky & Hutch & the only really two gourgious sexy hunks!!!
Indeed 💜nothing will ever compare💜
Porfavor poner la serie en castellano fue la mejor serie pero por ellos dos ninguno los igualará nunca 🎉
Porque no traducen por favor
It's a bit annoying and awkward that they were asked to address an important point of criticism on the series (excessive violence) out of left field, and then immediately told they were out of time for any response.
Bad timing, bad play.
anyone know the song at the start ?
Steven Seagal Wish I could help you, it has the sound of the "elevator music" that was used in the show. Since this was a scene from the movie of 2004 which I HATE, I would try googling the music used in the movie. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
How could Starsky not correct the interviewer and tell him that his car was CANDY APPLE red???? :) Where did "tomato" come from?
+Lynn Knott The cars nickname was 'the striped tomato'. In an early episode Hutch refers to it as this, and it just stuck.
Gotcha. I do remember Starsky saying it was "candy apple" red. Just another one of those silly things those guys could never agree on.
I have just watched an episode when Starsky calls the car 'Candy Apple Red', but striped tomato was the constant nickname.
Supposedly Glaser is the one who first called the car a striped tomato, and it got inserted into the show.
It was never to violet it was real great acting well ahead for that time, their is nothing worse than false fight scenes 👌👏
Nowadays David says he hated the movie😄😄😄
Yes but Hutch called it tomato red.

Glaser has aged really well. Soul has not; he looks like a different person...
People :-) different people ;-) but, Im no judge :-( O:-)
Woops mistake mean violent
Starsky and Hutch came out the year I got my drivers license. I so wanted that car. The TV show was terrific, the movie sucked big time. But then anything with snoop dogg in it is going to suck.
To be honest the original serie was better than the Movie. Sorry guys that's the reality.
I have a question. from yrs of watching s/h growing up.
I noticed being a gun lover.
no one has ever ans this maybe one of the boys can for me.
why did hutch switch from 38 snub and starsky a 45 in the piolet.
to then the episodes hutch went from 357 4" colt python first season then to 6" after.
starsky went to the s/w 9mm but switch holsters. from the white to brown and hutch did the opposite had the brown holster then went to white.
my question is why did this or how did this come about??
They should have made the movie darker and grittier not sorta funny
😂😂
Ben Stiller might have looked similar to Paul Michael Glaser, but he doesn't have the sexy.
wow what a contradiction Mr. Soul, you stated during an interview last year in Germany that you hated the movie, that it was a piece of crap. Wow David Soul looks totally different. Paul looks almost the same. I woudnt have noticed David on the streets...probably still wouldnt
Get over it. Accidents happen.
hutch on dirais un gros sac maintenant
David Soul, how rude to do a tv interview with your cell phone on. Are you really that important?
show not show sorry
