    Americans will struggle to understand the subtleties and occasional coldness or polite bluntness of British humour, but David Soul did well here, even though Jeremy occasionally put Soul on his back foot with frank responses and skeptical demands. Soul worked with wayward teen idol Lance Kerwin on the movie "Salem's Lot" movie in 1979. I received a letter from Kerwin many years later when Kerwin moved to Hawaii, where he still lives today. I have been a journalist for decades. Good to see Soul still going strong. The movie industry is a strange one... don't expect to see Kerwin or Soul on the big-screen anytime soon.

    He's certainly kept well hasn't he? I wasn't really interested in the remake film, but I've had all 4 series DVD sets of Starsky & Hutch for ages. I also briefly had a 1/18th scale striped tomato Torino though sadly it had damage & had to go back! Nothing will ever replace the original series with David and Paul.

    Good luck to you Mr. David Soul.

      Aah, Jeremy's just jealous because America have made the most beautifull cars EVER. Even their compact cars during the 70s oil crisis, like the Dodge Dart and Ford Maverick (which were virtually the same size as ours) far 'out style' ours. And JC sees public roads as a race track and expects even ordinary work-horse cars to get him from A - B in record time.

    Det. Hutchinson was my absolute fav
    But I thought his eyes were really truly blue
    They look hazel/brown here.
    Omg I just saw him in

    BROWN EYES!!

    • @Tracymmo
      @Tracymmo 5 років тому

      Yeah, he had brown contacts because the actor playing the older version of his character had brown eyes. Looked a little odd. I've also noticed that his eyes don't seem as blue as when he was younger. Perhaps eye color changes a bit as some people age.

    I`m British ,and I do think that`s just his kind of humour ,just hope Ds didn't take offence ,as ,despite speaking the same language.(English:) ,we do talk in very different ways:)
    I think the absolute worst interview ,(british) That I`ve seen with david ,was one with Terry Wogan ,back in the mid 80s?
    David was with his 4th wife ,Julia nickson soul ,and they`d had their first daughter ,but Terry just kept banging on about his past!..Seriously embarrassing..i felt uncomfortable for him...

    how the hell did muslims get into this topic? This is top gear for Christ's sake! David Soul is a good actor who's been in some classic stuff (Starsky and hutch - Salems lot) It's about putting him in an average car and seeing how he does! His looks nor nationality (or muslims) should even be mentioned!

  • @TheAmericanUhate

    lmao. He broke two cars. It probably would be kinda hard to shift with your right hand when you have with your left for your entire life. I know it would take me a long while to get use to it.

  • @hozzyboy
    @hozzyboy 17 років тому +2

    He probably broke two gearbox's because he's driving on the opposite side that he's used to. I know I would have a heck of a time getting used to shifting with my left hand.

    American cars were horrible? Shall we list the cars that flopped that came from the UK?

    • @Tracymmo
      @Tracymmo 5 років тому

      British cars aside, even the most hardcore vintage car fans in the US say that a lot of old cars looked great but didn't hold up well. That's why people used to say Ford stood for Found on the Road Dead.

  • @atlasshrugged2u
    @atlasshrugged2u 14 років тому +1

    @PoochMount18 Look at it again mate! He was being condescending, everyone could tell, I'm not the only one on this site who "suspected" the host was being a smart ass. Maybe that's the "Bristish way" but as much as we (Americans) may be "sensitive" the british have a superior" way about them that can be down right rude and you know it...especially If your british, so dont get mad at me when I'm only speaking what "we American have experienced from you guys...

  • @ultramarine13
    @ultramarine13 16 років тому +3

    Although I agree that Americans have done some terrible things to Muslims (and many others), saying Americans are "buried under tons of sin" brings a religious aspect to the argument that is simply inviting trouble. After all, the Crusades were waged in the name of God, and the Muslim jihad is waged in the name of Allah, yet I don't think either are very "godly". And, In defense of Americans (and Muslims), it is definitely a case of one bad apple spoiling the barrel.

  • @mrbret

  • @ultramarine13
    @ultramarine13 14 років тому +1

    @HTHAMMACK1, if you took two seconds to check my profile, you would realize that I am an American like you. However, you are frankly a shining example of why I consider the majority of the rest of the world to be far more worthwhile in terms of intellectual integrity and curiosity than virtually all Americans. Because, like most Americans, you speak in broad generalizations and simply attack those perceived as different, instead of criticizing the structure and content of an argument.

  • @ultramarine13
    @ultramarine13 17 років тому +1

    Since then, things have been going downhill. Look at how things like the Iraq invasion are handled. America has strayed from it's roots, and I for one hope that Americans "see the light" and start changing things.
