Want to thank you for this. I found a tutorial on how to fix it with a resistor but was on an older Fusion. I didn't know which wires I needed until your video. In place of the sensor you can just add a 37k ohm resistor between the wires.
My brother, you're greatly appreciated for doing this. You just forgot to explain HOW you connected the wires to the sensor. What are those white things that the wires seem to be fed into, and how do I know which side of the sensor to put which wire in?.... When I do this fix, do I need to unplug the car battery first, to eliminate risk of shorting something? ..... If I always leave my air conditioner on the highest setting, will it be better than sometimes putting it on low?....everyone else loaded videos of them doing this, but every here between using a radio shack resistor. What's the differently
I have 2012 fusion SEL, the cable is green, i did the same and it worked like charm. Thank you so much. It costed me 25$ only instead of having the dashboard pulled that was going to cost me around 750$ For the cable i bought it from scrap shop
@@brianlocal3 It depends on the version of your car, i remember it's mentioned in the Internet somewhere, it shows what the number of the slots you need to use to connect it. You can cut those two wires on the blue harness, and connect the wires from the evap sensor directly to those two wires (purple and gray) coming from underneath the glovebox. Then you can place the evap sensor inside the air vents and you will have a cycling compressor, avoid freezing on your evaporator and the heater and all climate controls will work properly.
When I disconnect the gray wire from the harness no air blows at all. The purple one doesn't change the air from blowing but the gray does it not connected. Any ideas?
@@homeseverafterllc just cut the purple wire, and then connect the evap sensor to the cutted purple wire coming from underneath the glovebox. Then leave the gray wire connected and connect the other evap sensor wire to it

@@_keepin.it.reel_ that is correct, then You just have to connect the remaining wire from the evap sensor to the gray wire that is still connected to the harness
Worked like a charm. Used a bwd pt191 connector from o'reilly/advance (kind of a general connector but it squeezes in) and quick splice connectors. As a side note I found that you could possibly get away with just cutting and capping off those 2 wires but I could be wrong. I say that because if you unplug that whole blue harness the ac will get cold but of course it won't do anything else correctly until plugged back in. As long as those 2 wires arent used to run anything else then it would seem that the sensor itself is unnecessary.
That sensor prevents the condenser from freezing up. That is why it is necessary. But thanks for the idea using that PT191 connector. I am going to try it.
Hello Again: Yes I would like to know where I can fine one or get one the connected the wires to the sensor that you have on your video with the EVAP Temp sensor okDo you know I can fine one on E-bay or Amazon or any auto part store? here in Houston TxSo I hope to hear from you real soon ok Oh keep up the good work on here some good video too

Michael Shane hi! Well.. This type of cars had 2 temperature sensors; the evaporator temperature sensor (like the one showing on the video) And the ambient temperature sensor (this sensor is located by the front bumper) what you have to do is to scan the vehicle to see what sensor is the one acting up. Normally when the scanner show -40 on the ambient sensor is either a broken wire or a bad sensor.

Georgie Shannon try the connector for the temperature sensor (engine) for a Chevy or the one for the injector in Ford (expedition, f150..) some wire cutters and you good it's not gonna be a perfect fit for the sensor but it will work... The one I'm using is from an alarm that I remove
The 2 pins plug that you find on the temperature sensor in chevy can work or you can buy the evaporator temperature sensor and the connector separately at the auto parts store. Hope this helps!.
Monique Kennedy well... downside is that the evaporator may freeze and water from condensation may leak inside the car.. which it has never happened to me.
The compressor will not cycle, and the evaporator will freeze, and the air will stop flowing, until you turn off the a/c to manualy cycle the compresor, then the air will slowly come out again.

Where would you find an adapter connector? Really appreciate your video.
where can i find the adaptor to fit the sensor the dealership . oreillys auto parts didnt have
you can make a hole in evapurator and instaled in diferent place
I recommend to remove the cabin air filter to see where to make the hole, if you're not careful you can damage the evaporator itself.
did u use a resistor or does the connector plug directly into the pins?
The sensor itself is a resistor...
Just buy a new one with the connector.
where did you find the connector for the tube ive been to all parts stores and hardware stores nobody has anything at all like that thank you

So where to get the adapter??
WENT TO JUNK YARD GOT IT FROM A F150 TRUCK THEY TOOK IT OFF
What's that connector called which you connected with the sensor?
Whats the name of the adapter?
When I disconnect #15 (blue/gray wire) no air blows at all. #13 (violet/brown) can be disconnected and it still blows.
Dont disconnect them... just peel the wires and add the sensor..
You said you can get the plug from a f150 or Chevy but didn't mention what motors or years or anything else. Need to find one for my car.
The 2 pins plug that you find on the temperature sensor in chevy can work or you can buy the evaporator temperature sensor and the connector separately at the auto parts store.

I used a pt191 plug. Had to shave the ears off to fit but worked fine. Took me about 10 mins to fix everything. Great video and thanks for the help!
Use black tape for the sensor then close everything bi
What's the name of the part you added?
It's the same evaporator temperature sensor that goes on the car (new obviously) I just connected outside the evaporator case.

Nope. It means that either your expansion valve is bad, or that your lines are clogged up.
