I’m not a big Taylor Swift fan myself but I don’t see she how Courtney can say she doesn’t matter. Sure she doesn’t matter too much in the rock and metal world but like it or not, she’s a huge deal to a lot of music lovers. She has fans of all ages and a lot of them would pay big money to see her one of her shows. She’s also won a ton of awards. By saying Swift doesn’t matter or she that hasn’t made a difference to music makes Courtney look jealous and bitter.

Almost every one who knows of Courtney Love, whether they are a fan or not knows about Taylor Swift, almost no Taylor Swift fans are aware of Courtney Love. Enough said. You don't have to like Taylor Swift, but she is the biggest act in music even if she is not your or my personal favorite.
What Courtney said about Taylor is mild compared to what Kurt used to say about other bands and artists back in the day. He was ruthless.
Courtney from my understanding is known for being one of the biggest witches in the music industry. What better way to try to be relevant again then to target somebody as successful as taylor swift. Im not a swift fan personally but hate her or love her she's a music giant. Courtney had a time and just needs to spend her remaining years to herself and focus on her personal life. She already knows without kurt she would had fallen off years ago. And pretty much has.

Agree! I’m not a fan of Taylor I like a few of the songs he mention but it’s just not my kind of music. But live through this is one of my favorites. Every song is great especially violet. Courtney may not be the best singer but neither is Taylor.

Not even close to being a fan of her music but to call her "not important" is beyond lunacy. Few artists in the history of contemporary music have achieved her level of success - not even Madonna whom she compares her to. Contrast that to Courtney who these days is more known for her water-brained controversial takes on things than she ever was for her music. I fully expect Taylor to not respond at all to this. Ok, first off, as a metalhead for 4 decades, I'm also a realist. Taylor may not be metal BUT her success will never be denied. She took over the Country music world at FIFTEEN yrs old, won all the awards, writes her own songs (no ghostwriters) and when she accomplished all of that, she moved to the pop world. ... and she took that over too. IF YOU CANNOT at minimum acknowledge this girls success on the music world, you aren't metal. IDGAF how old you are, how much you know in metal, the bands you love and how much u love to shit on other artists. I don't like her music, and it's cool if you don't either but if you deny her mark on this world today, you will not be taken seriously. It's that simple. Courtney however..... I mean, what is there to say? Nobody cares what Courtney has to say including her own daughter. Court has been irrelevant for 3 decades. Has clout chasing really gotten this bad?

The media on the other hand are understandably infatuated with her for this reason: by artificially boosting Taylor Swift’s popularity, it can maintain its own.

It was genius to re-record her own music with slight changes so that she now owns her own music catelog! Braun got kicked in the ass by that move! He has even admitted that he was wrong and sorry for what he did to her.....personally I think he just said that cause he is sorry the music catalog he stole from her is losing value by the day! Many radio stations have agreed to play only Taylor's version and not her original music that Braun sold (probably to himself under a different name with a partner in crime. Everyone deserves respect, no matter what they do (if they are not hurting anybody). What great song does Taylor Swift have that will be played 20, 30, 40 years from now? I don't think Taylor Swift has a Stairway To Heaven song or Bohemian Rapsody song etc that will stand out as great music for decades and generations to follow. Taylor Swift's songs basically only stand out for GenZ and maybe the younger half of Millennial females and I don't see these females playing Taylor Swift's music as they become senior citizens and I highly doubt future generations will listen to her music like future generations listened to Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Queen, Styx, Pat Benatar, and many other great bands and musicians that are being played on the radio for decades and generations well after their prime in music and even well after their death like Mozart, Bach and Beethoven.

Important in what way? I would say the industry sees her as important for the dollars she generates. Music on the other hand.... Maybe not so much. Pop music isn't normally very revolutionary in the sense that it's something that changes the zeitgeist or the culture. I think the last pop band to do that was The Beatles and Taylor Swift is not The Beatles.
