Today we will work with a variety of alcohol inks and watercolor brush pens. I had been curious about both the Ecoline watercolor pens and the new Merabu alcohol inks and I really liked the selection of well mixing pure colors in the box. From my stash I used some butterfly stamps, black pigment stamping ink, embossing tinsel and a heat tool. Feel free to use what you have and create something similar if you don't have this box!

You have my egg dish!!! LOL! I picked mine up at Serenity House (a 2nd hand store in my community that gives all it’s profits to our local homeless community) - it’s absolutely wonderful for working with watercolors - I’ve even used them with my Distress Crayons and saw what a great product those were if you wanted to take something with you on a trip or outing without needing a huge rolling case!

agree.. I make cards because they are small works of art/creativity and they take the stress out of creating... and when you are done you give it away. and I get all my Marabu inks from SMS online.

Oh, I was hoping they’d be alcohol ink markers. I wonder if these ones would work better on alcohol ink marker paper.

OMG!! lololol!! I had to tell my husband "look she's using her deviled egg tray too", he came down to my craft room, a few weeks ago, and caught me using ours, he poked fun of me but hey, we never use it, ever since we bought a two layer plastic one we stopped using the antique, 10 lb tray.. Only problem is mine isn't white, it's like a holo\greenish color, it's super thick and translucent but has them colors shining through, almost like a. Pine green, ultra marine shade, it's super pretty and works PERFECT.. So glad to see I'm not the only one that has brilliant ideas

@@cassiescreations9828 no, I wouldn't be able to get rid of it, it's been in my family for a few generations, but it would be nice to know, it is a very unique type of glass and beings it's priceless, in my eyes, I wouldn't do anything to harm it. Thank you though!

Wow, I just looked up this carnival glass and yea, I think it's the real deal, funny thing is I have a whole dish set of this stuff and had no idea, I just thought it was an ugly orangie set, that was handed down to me. Not 100% sure if it's real yet, but I'm going to definitely find out, thanks again for the tip

Neat! I have some YUPO paper which is plastic and much like what you used. It's fun to see what the alcohol inks do on it. I've not tried to emboss on it yet, but now you have encouraged me to at least try it. Thanks!! Enjoyed this video as usual.

I want an egg tray like that for watercolor.
I have one just like it. I will use it now for a mixing palette. I never use it for it's intended purpose anyhow. LOL! You can usually find these at thrift shops, Goodwill or try your local Salvation Army Store. I think we got ours for a wedding gift 50 yrs ago. Since my wife is gone, I don't make devilled eggs. But I eat them every chance I get. LOL!

Susan Harrison-Tustain's watercolor palette is that same egg dish. :) Her husband got it for her too and she's used it ever since. You can see it in her videos and she talked about it one time. It really does make a great painting dish. :)

Can you emboss with archival ink?? Thank you!😊
I hope you don't mind me answering as some people do so ignore this if you do. You can stamp with archival ink such as blue, red or black and then add clear embossing powder on before it dries, heat to set the embossing powder and you're done. I emboss a ton with clear embossing powder over Ranger's black Archival Ink because I love the look of the stamped image. The clear embossing powder sharpens the image but does add a very slight, almost glassy effect. It makes coloring what's left of the image easier also. If you want to color a stamp such as her butterfly instead of using the Dura Lar and alcohol ink as the background, just stamp with black archival then clear emboss, heat to set and then color away - makes a pretty butterfly.
Thanks for your help but I know how to emboss. When I do try embossing with archival ink only a small amount of powder sticks thus making me think it’s really not made for embossing if that makes sense?😊
@@ChristinaFurnerWebber Okay, I should have answered, "Yes, you can use clear embossing powder with an inky Ranger Archival pad" instead of blabbing! 😊 No, I have never had a problem with the clear embossing powder sticking to the "juicy" archival ink. I have no idea why you are having this issue. Maybe you have newly reformulated inks that just aren't grabbing the powder ??!! I hope Lindsay can help you more than I did! And honestly, I guess archival truly isn't formulated for embossing but the black ink will work with the clear powder!
On this plastic film almost any ink besides stazon will stay wet long enough but you will always have best results with a pigment ink.
