I've been stabbed twice & cut too many times to count. The fact is violence is a reality not a fantasy. Yeah you may get lucky & never have to defend yourself but its those who don't prepare as if they might that have the hugest chance of not walking away afterwards.

Eafengrow has come out with some big knives with awesome aesthetics lately. DC53, Aus-10, and N690 are some of the steels offered. I'm having a little trouble deciding on which steel I want. Could you rank these 3 steels according to your preference?

You should watch LuvThemKnives UA-cam video where he sent several Eafengrow knives for PMI testing. Claiming to be D2, they tested as a much cheaper, less strong HCR13 steel. Supposedly they have taken a new direction and improved.

Very unique review, but most importantly, informative...:) I like how you pointed out that this knife is sized between a smaller carry knife and a machete. A heavier blade that's not too big but not too small has lots of advantages in the field and for self-defense. Keep up the good work..:)

Just bought 2 from Amazon. The 135 is my next purchase. I’m now addicted to. You can’t beat the price . Especially with this quality. You can complain that it’s made in China but take a look at what you are wearing. Probably dressed in Chinese made clothing. I own a Winkler knife, I feel like I way overpaid when holding an eafengrow. If I broke the Winkler I’d probably have to have a “moment”. With ef , I’d just buy another one. But I don’t think I can break the knife unless I used machinery.

I have the 141, 129 and the 973. I absolutely love their knives. I plan on grabbing the 135 soon as well. I also agree 100% about the whole “tactical fantasy” thing and really it’s not that beyond reasonable to anticipate a scenario in which you’ll need a tactical strategy or advantage. We keep spare tires in our cars, not because we have “race car fantasies” but because we know shit happens. We’d rather have a spare in the trunk or under the bed, than not have one at all. Great video, as always thanks for sharing!

Hi Daniel, would you consider making a video about quality budget clones of expensive knives? I have often noticed that simply putting the words "tactical", "combat", or even "survival" or "bushcraft" on what are essentially inexpensive, mass-produced hunting/work knives allows companies to inflate the price by at least 5-10 times. For example, the expensive Shivworks clinchpick knife you made a video on a few months ago is essentially a Schrade Old Timer Sharp Finger knife which retails at around $15. I think this could be a popular video as a lot of folks are on tight budgets these days. Even an "inexpensive" Mora companion knife $16 has a highly-rated clone that retails for $4 on BudK.
