- Menudo was a Puerto Rican boy band that was formed in the 1970s by producer Edgardo Díaz, releasing their first album in 1977. The band achieved much success, especially during the 1980s, becoming the most popular Latin American teen musical group of the era. The group disbanded in 2009.
During its course, the band had several radio hits. Their success led them to also release two feature films: Una Aventura Llamada Menudo and Menudo: La Película.
The band was a starting point for superstars like Ricky Martin and Draco Rosa, who were members (simultaneously, for a while) during their youth.

I was so in love with these guys in my youth! I even had their picture in my HS locker! Here in Canada you had to go a looong way to find a fellow fan!

Traveled from Canada to new York with a bunch of teenagers, we stayed in the same hotel as them in Manhattan. There were crowds of fans outside but we had no clue who they were.

My little sister would get the TV Guide and highlight every time Menudo was on TV and since she highlighted it, my family would have to watch it. Weird, I know but that's how it worked with five kids. I missed many A-Team episodes because my little sis wanted to see Menudo and then eventually New Kids on the Block.
That’s how it was with me. Once Robby left I was on to New Kids on the Block and Jordan Knight. I can’t believe we’re all 50!

As a kid in the early 80's I'd see Menudo in TV all the time, whether it was their music videos or guest appearances. I loved Kids Incorporated, the Kids from Fame and Menudo! I remember when Ricky Martin joined, I was annoyed because he was this little squirt of a kid hahaha! And then he went on to
become the biggest star in the 2000s. I'm going back and re-watching their videos after seeing their documentary.
