In my educated opinion, Remaps are definitely a good thing, if done properly. Disabling EGR's is 100% necessary if you do a tune, otherwise it will not run quite right. The most dangerous part of some tuners is increased rail pressure. the short of that is don't do it. Adjusting injector timing and and boost pressure is generally safe, if the car is well maintained. An intake manifold clean is a great idea if you are getting rid of the EGR. From experience, Dealerships NEVER service the cars properly and always charge ridiculous amounts. And don't even get me started on plug and play chips. Rubbish they are. Anyway, that's my rant for the day, love the content mate.
Mine’s far from clean…had a hard life previously so cosmetically very average inside and out, but the driveline is great at 220k and will be better with the injector kit - hopefully before bada-boom…
If you can put a brand new heart in the beast, including a lot of maintenance for about 15 grand ish lets say 20k even it’s a damn site cheaper to fix up the best vehicle ever built then buy some technology problems for close to $100,000 plus Accessories and then need to take it in for DPF problems Timing, chain problems, leaking EGR cooler, etc. last of the best cheapest chips if you’re smart you’d even pay 30-40 grand to keep this thing going. A new life forever if u follow the detail directions
