Its neat to see updated instructions for these platforms. Ive been messjng with these cars for years and this was always one of my favorite mods
Thanks! Yeah upgrading the brakes on these cars when you start to go faster is a must!
You always have to use the old bracket with the Taurus brakes no matter the year…Great work guys that is an awesome kit, and truly shows the popularity and expansiveness of the sn95 Mustangs aftermarket parts choices..
Thanks! And I didn't know that but kinda makes sense now thanks for the comment. Truly is awesome! So many companies doing awesome things
Every photo I've seen on the internet for this, the bleeders are up top. Even saw a photo of the guy who makes the kit comment on a photo saying caliper is on backwards when someone put the bleeder screws on the bottom
@@RatchetWrenches the bleeder goes on top, you’ll never get them to bleed if it faces down. Think about it, the air has to rise to fully bleed the system.
@@shawnsilverstang2138 yup you’re correct, the air has to be released out of the top…
I have everything in the garage to do this same setup on my 01. Not sure if you've looked into it anymore since you made this video but lmr sells a cobra rear brake kit that allows you to use cobra rear rotors and caliper brackets with the tauras calipers for even more braking power. Sure the improvement is insane either way though, im excited to see how it performs.
I actually haven't looked into that set up but I definitely will couldn't hurt I'm assuming. Would just have to make sure the breaking bias is equal enough. And yeah this front brembo upgrade really changed the car completely it brakes significantly better and looks 1000% better
Really great info and video!
I’ve been looking into the 4 piston Brembo Ford Racing front kit for my 03 Mach but this looks to be basically the same thing at a much cheaper price. Thanks for the info!
Now I wish somebody from the Mopar world would come up with a similar swap for my 10 Challenger RT that didn’t involve swapping to pricey SRT spindles. Mustangs are so much easier to mod for sure!
Thank you appreciate that! And yea this kit is very affordable compared to some of the other kits on the market for sure. Would highly recommend. And if only! Maybe one day someone will.
You got a new viewer. I love the content. And for me is gold I’m buying a new edge. Thank you for the videos.
Appreciate that thank you! Feel free to check out our NewEdge Mustang Playlist we put all videos relating to it on there!
Brembos have been available for the new edge as long as i can remember... but its sooo much damn money... 3k-9k depending on the model, as there are a few.
Doing this swap now. Unfortunately 950.61001 brake hoses are the wrong thread size for my GT hard brake lines.
Good luck with the swap! You're gonna love the upgraded braking ability now. And ahh that's unfortunate!
@@RatchetWrenches There is a right and left side. Almost finished. Keep making videos your channel is helpful.
Nice. And you need some jaw protectors for your vise so you don't chew up items made of softer metal.
How’s the stopping power with this setup ? Planning to do the exact same . And thank you for the lines and other info you provided much appreciated dude
Anytime! And it's NOTICEABLY better. You really do feel a big difference IMO. I love the new brakes and they look 10x better too!
Nice setup 👌Can you do a favor for me can you mesurre between front center hub and the end yo caliper i want to know if i can clear my 18 wheel plz before i make a move thx
Yes, Love the stang videos!! Keep em coming!!!
Thank you! We sure will 👍🏼
Those brake hoses should fit. They are side specific, grab the other hose and it should install no problem
Ah damn thanks for the input. I already returned them so maybe I'll buy them again.
Have you heard about rovos durbans 18 fitting ?
I haven't heard but most 18's should clear its the 17" wheels that have issues
Hey man I love the video/content! I’m currently doing this same brake it on my ‘03 Mach1! I just wanted to ask where did y’all get y’all rear calipers from? That’s the last thing I need! Thanks for this! Never knew this was possible!
That's awesome! So I bought the rear calipers at Autozone. Its crazy how well the kit works I love them
@@RatchetWrenches gotcha! Also with that setup did you have to use that rotors only or could you use a different one? I bought the EBC rotors for my setup like this but I haven’t put them in yet. I’ve just still been doing a lot of research to make sure they fit first. I have a ‘03 Mach1 and they’re made for that car. I just want to be safe than sorry man lol
I don't think you'll need to do the rears, our Mach 1s come with Cobra brakes already
@@RidinDirtyRollinBurnoutsThere’s a vid here on YT that says you’ll need to upgrade the rear calipers if doing the ATS upgrade. Reason being the brake balance will be corrected and brought back to spec with the bigger piston Taurus caliper. If you don’t upgrade the rear calipers, you’ll be more likely to lock the brakes up and crash, IIRC
What brake line did you use the factory lined up? Or did you have to go aftermarket
I used factory but you can definitely upgrade to an aftermarket SS line if you want
Hell yeah Dude!! This is exactly what I was looking for!! But now im stuck lmao do i buy pads and rotors for the 99 dual piston calipers i have laying around for my 94 Sn95 (believe it or not, the new edge dual piston caliper is an upgrade over the single piston caliper on the earlier model Sn95) to hold me over till i don't mind spending the money on this brembo swap? Or should i just suck it up and start buying parts for the brembo swap out the gate? Lmao either way, my shit needs brakes ASAP!! One of the only thing's along with a couple other parts i have laying around that i want to install before i put her back on the streets😫😫🤣
If I was in your shoes I'd just suck it up and start buying parts for the brembo swap! Might as well put all your money towards that off the bat and don't have to go back and do brakes again. It's definitely worth the money
Where do you buy the inserts for the caliber?
Check the video description for the link. S&S Engineering
How did those new calipers feel and compare to stoping power from what you had ? Also it looks like the G2 paint flaked off
It's a night and day difference honestly. And yeah a little bit did due to brake fluid but I touched it up later
@@RatchetWrenches do you happen to know how wide the caliper is ? I am trying to find wheels.
Will stock brake lines fit back of brembos
Yeah
what are your front wheel specs to fit these
I have a 17x9 and they clear but literally by millimeters. I was told by the guy who owns S&S Engineering but I'd definitely recommend a different wheel or this in an 18"
Think these are better than the cobra calipers?
I don't know too much about the cobra calipers so I can't speak too much about them but I have heard a lot of people run them
4 piston brembos are def superior to the OEM cobra upgrade
I love the set-up.. I'm actually starting on my 02 gt mustang 🐎.
So question about it....
Everything is stock now but I'm planning on putting all the mods in then stage 3 cam
Do you have any guess it will go pass 330 HP??? With me putting that stage 3 cam in??
Because after my next step will be a supercharger or a coyote swap and put the cams in the coyote engine
Thank you! And to give you perspective I have a "Stage 2" Comp Cam. Before I went turbo I was FBO and made 289rwhp. 330 might be a stretch but with supporting mods you could get close. If you plan on supercharger or coyote swapping, I wouldn't waste your time with staying NA and putting all the time and money into a stage 3 cam just my opinion. If you went with a supercharger, they make specific cams that work better with them and their powerbands.
@@RatchetWrenches thanks for the advice 🤝🏾✊🏾💪🏾💯
And for Coyote swap do Yu perfect f150 coyote engine or mustang coyote engine??
I'm new to this by the way just trying to join the trend 🙂
@@keshawnmotivation you wont hit 330, only way to get close to 330 is cams and heads. With that cam and a set of trick flow twisted wedge heads you might see 330 but thats the only way to get that kinda power NA in a 2V without boost or giggle juice
If I ever change wheels to one that will clear the calipers I’m doing this.
You should! I just drove the car around today and it's a night and day difference.
Stupid question but I have a set of 2020 GT 4 piston brake calipers and I was wondering if anyone knew what it would consist of putting them on my 99 GT?
That's a good question I actually have no idea! I'm sure some FB groups could give you an answer
Just went through this headache . A guy used to make a kit for it to work (went out of business) but the spacers needed to even do it makes your wheels poke . I just sold my s550 calipers to just run the ats brembos they have the kit and the offset isn’t destroyed as much
These work on a 95?
According to his website yes. "This hardware kit will allow you to bolt 13+ Cadillac ATS or Cadillac XTS calipers to your 94-04 mustang spindles."
Does anyone know if charger scat pack breaks will fit???
I am not sure if they will. Possibly a Facebook forum could help you out
Im struggling to find The brake pad pins... anyone have a parts #
What rotor did you guys end up using on the rear?
Whatever one I had on from before. I'll probably upgrade them later this year or whenever they need it
Where did you get the paint from?
Ebay
You need an adjustable proportioning valve and those pad are crap.
What pads would you recommend? I haven't had any issues with these
What rims are those 17s?
Yep. These barely and I mean barely clear due to the contour of the inner wheel. I would recommend going 18's or different wheel with the brembo set up.
@@RatchetWrenches did you have to shave anything to fit with the 17s? Strongly considering these over the Cobra R brake kit as the R came with 18s and can't get an answer on if they fit 17s ot not.
So is anyone making these kits
S&S Engineering makes the conversion parts and then you just have to source the Brembo calipers and pads
Where are you located
Central jersey
Is this the video of why we havent seen the mustang in a while?
One of 2 haha
@@RatchetWrenches are we waiting on the other one er did i miss it somewhere lol
@@umakemerandy3669 it's being edited currently! Should be up this week
@@RatchetWrenches sweet sweet ill be waitin! Got my turbo kit in but still not tuned. Ordered a terminator x in february but it keeps getting delayed! So its nice to be able to watch your similar build in the meantime lol. I wanna see some full rev range pulls from beginning of 2nd to end of 4th :)
Need some white racing stripes on it
