  • Salem Al Fakir's 2009 Album.. never available in the US for some reason. Internationally he is known for his song "It's True", which was remixed by Swedish house DJs Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, and for being featured as a vocalist in the Avicii songs "Silhouettes" and "You Make Me", both of which were hits in many countries including the United Kingdom and the United States.

    It's a shame this album has gone under the radar. Americans are so busy over here trying to be original with their experimental sound effects and Salem Al Fakir has already mastered this.

      I called up Parlophone to see why Salem was never officially released in the states.. got no answer.. the ultimate WHAT IF?

      Americans especially black musicians in America inspired him quite a lot and he actually has stated this often so ima need you to chill my guy. It’s not about competition it’s about beautiful music and telling stories and we all influence and inform eachothers experiences

      @@LafemmebearMusic What the hell did race have to do with this? It's obvious he's been inspired by black musicians. His songs have a lot of motown and 70s inspired sound. You literally just restated what I said. Just because he borrowed sound --like every other artist--doesnt mean he doesn't have something to offer that no one else does now. It's not those influences that are the sum total of his music. It's the way he uses them and everyone can agree he doesn't really sound like anyone else in that regard. The point IS to spread the music. That's why everyone wants to put him on blast. You're making an argument where there isn't one.
