Ruen is a cool cat. He came down to Palm Springs for a bday event for one of my boys back in 2007 or so and him and lil rock were down to earth and explaining how to stay consistent. Much respect to these legends in my era.
Good to see you asking the right questions such as the difference between Air track and air flare. I've only ever seen Kujo explain it back in the mid 2000's but nobody knows the difference except a few. They all throw the word Air Track around to describe an air flare when they are similar ( not the same ) but different the way they are pulled off. Also, what people see Taisuke do and what they call " criticals " is not a air track either. Ivan called them Star Tracks because of the form ( 💫 ) the body would take when airborne. Good to hear this from Ruen who isn't as old as the guys that were doing Air Tracks but later evolved into doing Air flares such as Mega Man, Benny Kimoto, Tuff Kid, Charles and all others that came after such as Omar, Boy, Shorty Brick, Kareem, Poizon.

He didn't have Airflares in 96. He had Airflares around 99. You can see this evident in FSS4 ( 98 ) where he is up against Enerjetik, Reveal and Iron Monkey was doing the Air Track combo and even trying to do Airflares. Ruen was trying to do them but only had the power combos of the early 90's.

First time I saw a more modern airflare was in 97 by Iron Monkey, while Kujo was doing them from deadmans. Ruen was a kid in that video I think, on Iron Monkey`s side vs Soul Control. Ruen was in my top 5 Bboys and still is. I stopped bboying over a decade ago from starting in the 90s. I know age is becoming more limiting but Im surprised to see Ruen can still bust it. Ruen is close to 40 right?
