As a jamaican, Desert Boot is the choice for me, we call the crepe sole "Cheese" its more stylish and it's more comfortable, plus we care our Clarks much more than any other shoes
I had my Bushacre 2 boots resoled by a local cobbler and they in great shape with more life for years to come. Regular maintenance of the uppers is well worth the efforts. He put on some vibram soles that were of similar color to the originals. I wear them nearly daily.
I wore the suede desert boots with crepe sole in Elementary School and Jr. High (Middle School for you younger chaps). It has been a comfortable flashback in footwear for me. I do add an inner lining for a slight arch support because the Bushacre 2 is completely flat inside.
I have 2 Clarks Originals. For those who have a hard time choosing: if you plan to use these desert boots to drive yourself to work everyday, get the Bushacre.
Whatever the benefit that bushacre may bring the desert boot is so iconic, comfortable and life’s too short not to wear them pretty much everyday. Warm enough in winter... really cool in summer.
I bought a pair of Desert Boots and had to replace the laces 3 times because they kept snapping. The sole also fell apart very quickly and I ended up with a huge hole in one. Bought a Bushacre and have had not a single problem. They are not as comfortable but they look better are more durable and are cheaper.
Dang, you burn through the laces! It sounds like you're super active and on your feet a lot, so the Bushacre is definitely the best choice in that situation. Thank you so much for watching and commenting--I really appreciate it!
BootSpy The Desert Boot laces were fragile it seems and snapped when I was pulling on them to tie them. I had to order two additional pairs through time to replace.
My man, you ain’t heard? Those laces are notoriously weak. SO weak in fact, that CLARK’S will replace them for free for life. (IF you have your purchase receipt). Look it up. Or cop some for $8.
@@dragorocky I don’t need to have heard, I experienced it. That’s why I posted. I did get them for free every time I placed an order through my local store.
These things are so popular in Jamaica original dessert boot soles (cheese bottoms as they're called here) literally melt in the heat. I got the bushacre 2 beeswax. It drives everyone crazy they love it so much. I love it too. If anyone has the bushacre 3 please do as video. I want to know what the difference is before I order one
The strange thing about bushacre 2 are some clearly show the white stitching on the midsole while others have a stitching that melds in with the rest of the leather. For my money bushacre 2 with the stitching that melds in with the rest of the leather is a beautiful boot.
I just got a model named Desert boot 2 from Zappos. It has a similar sole to the Bushacre but the rubber is a little harder. Also the insole seems different. And it came in wide width, which is what I needed.
Your can get some support in either pair by slipping in an insole. Thar will protect your feet while walking on a hard surface and provide more comfort. Clarks Ortholite insoles are now available and they will make a difference.
Absolutely agree..just additional info while i use same size 8uk,desert boot more grip then bushacre more space thinking to down size a half for bushacre.both are great!
Been wearing the bushacre 2 for a year now for work. Absolutely uncomfortable under foot. Just ordered the desert boot. Hoping the comfort of the crepe sole is significantly better 🤞🏼
@@coleslaw13 not really. I returned it and got the bushacre 3 😂😂 The 3s are much more comfortable under foot, due to the thick, removable insole. But the 2s look better (sleeker) and has better lockdown over the foot. The 3s feel loose and wobbly when I’m walking.
Hello , I need some advice about the bushacre : I never wear chukka boots before , and I have a little dilemma if to choose the wide fit or not . I usually wear mocs and i wear them in wide fit and them comfort for me. However I wear chesea boots with the ‘normal’ Fit and it’s comfortable to me too. So the question is how these chukkas are wider boots like the chelsea or not . Should I choose wide fit chukkas or normal fit? Thanks .
Thank you for the kind words, Kevin! Yes, they should fit identically---it's almost the same boot. If you've been wearing a B2 for a while, you may notice some differences with the DB, but that will just be due to it being made in a different factory. But the last and everything is designed the same. Just different materials and made in a different factory. Let me know if you pick them up!
That’s really good to know! I’m planning to get the DB in Suede and wasn’t sure how they’re gonna fit. But your video has definitely helped me to decide. Very concise, clear and straight to the point. New subscriber here, keep up the good work!
Just bought Bushacre 3 from Macy's. I have only used them one whole. Already, I see a slit/opening between the rubber sole and the upper, one inch long. You could see the stitchings inside when you open wide the slit. Is that normal? Or should I return it back for a refund?
I have a pair of desert boots that are 10 years old with a ton of miles that I use as beaters in the garage now, for painting, all kinds of dirty work and they keep going. I have a pair of 1 year old bushacre 2 where the sole cracked and they get wet inside. Crepe sole wins period
looking at a ladies sizing to men's sizing chart, it suggests you try a 5.5 in mens. Give it a shot---you can always return through Clarks or Amazon! Thank you for watching!
When I was in the British Army Dessert boots were the fashion shoe for soldiers in the 1980’s the shoes were cheep and comfortable with jeans and a Fred Perry shirt you were good to go any place smart for squaddies
Hi I have B2 i wear it one or two times a month I have a new DB since 2016 Still in box I didn’t wear them i need some advice for how i store it without any harm to my DB Cuz till now I didn’t wear them
I'd keep them in the shoebox if you don't have a spare dust jacket around so they don't gather dust when you're not wearing them. Otherwise, put some cedar shoe trees in them after you wear them. Desert Boots tends to deform a little over time, but you'll get rid of a lot of that with a good shoe tree! Thank you so much for watching--I really appreciate it! -William
The bushacre does not wear longer, sole is thinner to make it flexible and that's where it wears out. Kinda disappointing, can't resole it while the leather is still good. Need to kill a new cow for a new boot
The desert boot 2 came out 7 years ago (8 years now). I believe at the beginning of this video, I clearly state that the desert boot came out after world war 2
I have both the Desert and Bushacre 2. Bought at the same time, from same store, same size, same leather, and wear them the same amount. I consider the Bushacre 2 verging on uncomfortable boots. Can't say for sure if it's just in comparison to the Desert boots or in general. Maybe it's just my particular feet, but if you find the Bushacre 2 comfortable, you should try the Desert.
IMHO, the softness of the sole should be reasonable as well. This summer I bought a pair of Clarks sandals with some "supadupa air technologies", but it felt terrible. It felt like you have a 10 cm layer of soft foam instead of sole. Every step was like your feet is falling under the ground, just too soft and absolutely unstable. You spend much more energy while walking, especially when you want to go fast. And it had some defects of craftmanship, so I returned them. Besides, light sole (especially if it cannot be thoroughly cleaned) is an absolute nightmare for me as a person who has no car. So a harder rubber sole is definitely my choice.
As a jamaican, Desert Boot is the choice for me, we call the crepe sole "Cheese" its more stylish and it's more comfortable, plus we care our Clarks much more than any other shoes

Your talk is all about the outward appearance! What about the interior comfort, the way it’s constructed, the arch support..etc.
The leather on both of those is so smooth, I’ve worn them totally barefoot (no socks) for work. (after being broken in of course).
Yeah, they're super comfortable. The Desert Boot is so squishy---it's awesome

Just got some bushacre off Amazon for £34 - so soft and comfortable straight out the box
Nice! How are you liking them so far?
The Desert boots are resolable, The top is stiched to the mid-sole, not the crepe, so a cobbler can glue on another sole. As has been done to mine.
I got a pair I been wearing for 4 or 5 years off and on not the desert boot, feels like you wearing much of nothing, love them
Great video! One question, do they fit the same? If I wear 8.5 in the B2 should I get the same size for DB? Thanks!

If it were me, I'd probably return it. I think the Thursday Scout is a much better chukka for the $$

has anyon here tried the medium version of clarks chkka boots? how is it differ from the regular versions width? was it super wide?
I climbed a tree to do an air layer in my Bushacre 2s the first week I had them. The sole cracked at the top of the arch, alas.

In desert climates, bushacre is better. Crepe soles disappear very early from June to September in Arizona.
You mean they melt from heat?
@@achillesdanieladam9486 Yes I mean!
Thanks for the tip.
bushacre2 simply because I prefer the sole color

They are made from natural materials so just keep them in the box and will be ok
I don't think crepe soles are particularly soft or comfortable underfoot. Just a little better than dress shoes. Desert boots need a cushy insole.

FYI the clarks dessert boot been around more than 7 years ago..
I believe it's the Bushacre that's been around for just a handful of years. The Desert Boot has been around for 75.. maybe 76 at this point
Bushacre 2 are glued to the soles with a faux lace. Dessert boot is sewn to the sole = more durable.
I have them both,Desert and Bushacre 2 and I can swear the Bushacre can take a lot more beating, definitely more Durable 💯
I believe that the stitching of Bushacre 2 isn't fake, both boots are sewn to the midsoles, and have the outsoles cemented.
Great video, thanks. Too bad the focus was set on the background.
