I used to walk from galleface to union place through slave island every day I'm 1980 s thaday and today I see very big difference un believable development
I served at Mercantile Credit Ltd Janadhipathi Mawatha Colombo 01 opposite Central Bank of SL many years Also at Janatha Estate Development Board Colombo 02 ( Plantations Mgt of state owned estates of tea rubber coconut Cocoa etc For 18 yrs at Slave Island At tea brokers Somerville Tea Broking company Slsl At slave Island and at Ranliya garments group at Kurulopane I used to take these routes from Battaramulla to Colombo Now the changes taken place is so great modern Colombo Sarath Dassanaike
Seems a wise project to avoid midtown traffic. I beleieve it is wiser to develop our railways to metro and LRT even restructure of public bus services (something similar to Malaysia). We can reduce the drastic amount of public moving away from daily commuting from personal cars if done effectively. Reducing emissions+ cost on fuel etc.
Great video!! Are all the flyover parts complete? In the second round why couldn't you go over flyover to cross the railway track?(After coming from North bound)
Yes! if you are trying to cross railway tracks in eastbound direction, there is no option at the moment. Flyover is more than capable of handling traffic in both the directions. Not sure why they decided to allow only westbound uniflow.
Its all nice but as soon as these are opened , part of these roads will be used for parking..unless we do some thing of road side parking problem, nothing would improve
WHAT GOOD/ BENEFIT IS THERE FOR THE LOCAL POOR/COUNTRY POOR BY SPENDING 500 KOTI ON THIS PROJECT - HOW POVERTY ELIMINATED - WHAT IF THIS MONEY WAS SPENT ON RURAL / NORTH /EAST DEVELOPMENT - HOW MUCH OF FUNDS TUNNELED TO PRIVATE ACCOUNTS OF POLITICIANS & MANAGERS ???
north and east doesnt develop bcz they are blocking every single investment coming to north and east by tamils, tamils dont let any of non tamil to invest there , so they remain poor , its their mentality , we cant change, eastern ampara is catching up

Wha USA did wrong is, they made cars the only option for travel and killed off buses, trains and bikes, basically what SL is doing nowadays.

😘😘😘
Excellent footage. What type of a camera do you use for these?
Thank you! It is a GoPro.
Great video!! Are all the flyover parts complete? In the second round why couldn't you go over flyover to cross the railway track?(After coming from North bound)
Flyover complex is fully complete.
But Eastbound traffic is not allowed on the new extension as it is one-way.
@@roadcanvas so then still we have to go over the railway line?

@@roadcanvas yeah thats a big drawback

Colombo contributes 1/3rd of gdp . So enhancing transportation is necessary .
