I usually feel like I can’t relate to a lot of UA-camrs because their houses are perfectly clean and aesthetic and it low key makes me feel bad sometimes. I still live with my mum and we’re besties and we live in an old Queenslander which I’m low key starting to really appreciate my childhood home but we have the same chronic health issues so house work really gets on top of us. You can’t even sit in the lounge room, it’s that packed full of junk which we need to go through but we have to wait for us both to have a good fibro day before we can do anything. We have an outside area which is still inside and it’s concrete and it’s always dirty too. When I was a kid, the house was fine and clean but as we got older and our health issues started, it’s gotten to the point where it’s becoming a hoarder house and we have no idea where to start. Thank you for being vulnerable and relatable. 🫶🏻

I wish we would not have to apoplogize for the state of our houses. First it is also question of privilege to be able to always have your space clean, decorated and pretty. Second we dont know why it might not be clean. Since my dad passed away this year it is hard to even get out of bed in the morning and every chore feels like a mountain to climb. I also have cockatiels and they are the stars of my life, but they indeed are messy and you could clean everyday haha. So thank you for your honesty, it is refreshing to see some relatable, realistic homes.
Hot tip I got from a podcast CANNOT remember what one! But they say back in the oven, water with like herbs in it like cinnamon etc and it will sell out the whole house naturally !

I have my white face cinnamon " Eddie " in my lounge room to..raised him and he is 10 now..love him heaps..I finally tried the mesh cover on the bottom and it's actually helping with Eddie's mess. Your birds are beautiful

Honestly your house doesn’t look bad at all idk why people were hating. Yes a lot of influencers have like modern, all-white apartments/houses but that doesn’t mean everyone’s home is like that. And when I visit people’s places so many apologise for the mess but most of the time it isn’t even bad, they just LIVE there which is the whole point😂 But my mom is a big hoarder and we have so many birds, chinchillas and had rabbits too and 2 cats and a dog. So I am used to that house being a huge mess and our garage is the worst. Literally never been able to fit both cars in, even having one car fit was lucky but that is no longer the case. Also I actually like cleaning windows😂and hanging up laundry but only fun if it is outside on a nice day. It just feels so good to be outside And those new curtains in the lounge look so good!! 😍
I kinda got Pavlov'd when stick season started playing, my morning walk playlist has 13 noah kahan songs on it so basically 1 quarter of it is just him and now I associate him with the dopamine from exercising.. stick season started playing and I was like oh so this is the best video on the internet, cool
unfortunately we can't paint with birds in the house as it's lethal to them and they have nowhere to go at the moment so, no painting for now! the curtains have cleaned up the area though, it's so much nicer!!

Hi shelly i know you don't make bird videos anymore but something terrible happened to my cockatiel he flew away. I put him near a door and my cousin opened his cage and took him out my other cousin opened the door and i was in my room knowing non of that as soon as she opened the door he flew away and when i knew he was gone i tried to find him searched high and low. But i can't find him he is gone. But other news is about my other cockatiel ( i have two birds) he was extremely sad by his look and cried with me knowing i can't do anything please suggest me what should i do ? I don't want to my other cockatiel too because of my mistakes😢

I'm Australian and I've bought myself a house in the last year and it's an older house and I just want to see more REAL houses like that, Decorating OLDER houses, even vlogs of people just living in their not super duper modern houses. I love it when I see realistic videos and not the fake, perfect, rich videos, honestly it makes it so relatable and more nurturing to the soul haha
