I use 2 Passats with 3.2 FSI. Except for overall poor quality of materials used to build this car, engine is just great. In my opinion the best engine made by VAG those days - maintnenance and failure free, does not need to much gasoline. Drives great!
I was considering in the future to buy -together with a friend- a B6 Passat 3.2 FSI DSG, but I've heard many complaints about the faulty DSG gearbox (specifically the mechatronic unit) which is very expensive to fix. Besides, these engines tend to have problems with the timing chain and tensioners (which should be maintenance free), and also this repair is way expensive since it requires the engine to be removed from the vehicle, or instead, remove the transmission for access. Could you please tell me more about your experience? These problems are putting me off for a future purchase.
@@apexseal2811 hahahahaha I'll add the part where and the fuel pump control unit, the high pressure fuel sensor and pcv valve all died in the same time. Well the pcv valve mamebrane was already beginning to fracture... The part with the fuel pump failing will set you aside the freeway thinking you've got gas, but that fuel is on the left side. And the left pump will fail pumping it to the right side, cause you've got the double fuel pumps..
This was a great quality review man! I was looking to see more on this car as I was looking to purchase one and you really helped out. Thanks a bunch!!
Nice to see VW still making pealing coatings for interior high use contact areas. I loved our Passat but hated the pealing of the interior parts. Makes me wonder where else they continue to cut costs?. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Hello i have bought the same passat its a beast car but how do you fold your outside mirrors? by hand manually or by a button? Thx How is this car running now btw?
It's not an R32 unless you swapped engines. Which would make absolutely no sense since it comes standard with a 3.6 VR6. I would know, I used to own this car.
@@vincentvanderlinden1577 actually its not the same engine :) the build and most parts are the same but MK5 R32 is not an FSI injection, thats why only the 3.2 from passat's have the oil cap left side of the motor just like R36's and passat uses AXZ engine codes R32 uses BUB
I have one. It's a piece of junk. 75000miles and new timing chain is needed. Ongoing issue with parking brake and overall there is always something. Yes, when it works, it's a great car, but I'll never ever buy a german car and I'm from Germany. Japanese cars only.
It's not a air vent it's a umbrella holder.

That's called DCC suspension with sport mode and everything, comes on 08-10 3.2 fsi's i believe. and R36 has them stock.
