Hi to my Wonderful Inspiring Precious FRIENDS...First of all I loved the video.
I was thinking about you guys this past Sunday on Mother's Day, wondering how you celebrated with your Moms. Now that I have watched today I am still a little mixed up about BOTH sets of parents and trying to think back about if I have ever seen YOUR parents Brittany, and whether or not I have ever seen YOUR Mother Drew! I DID learn today that both of you are only children which I never knew before. Oh, also know for sure now that Brittany, you grew UP in Florida since you were in your childhood bedroom and also that your maternal Grandma is there in Florida also, in a nursing home I guess it is?
Yes, my 60 year old self has definitely felt a VERY strong connection to the two of you, and even with the internet and learning about people virtually instead of meeting people in person that goes on in this modern world, I STILL want to know so much more personal things about the two of you LIKE details about where you two grew up and your parents and siblings (know THAT detail now for sure since finding out as I said about you both being only children!)
I am so disappointed in my procrastination over sending you guys a personal card and letter along with a photo of myself in one of my Mr.and Mrs.Adventure shirts. As it turned out, I could have very well seen you taking my card out of your PO Box in this video!! DARN IT!! Now I am wondering just how long it will be until you get the things in your PO Box again!!! Now by the time I am watching this I assume you two have left Florida, on the road to your NEXT adventure. Oh well, I am still going to make it a prioritized goal to get it written along with the photo and sent, no matter how long it may be until you two actually see it.
Brittany and Drew, wherever you are when you read this, please know that my heart is right there with you. As always I wish, hope, and pray that you enjoy each and every day to the fullest and that you are HAPPY!! I love you two so much. I can't imagine getting through the daily challenges in my life these past couple of years without the two of you amazing warm loving people. HAVE FUN GUYS!! I happened across your videos by doing a search for van customization, I must tell you I am hooked. You see, the love of my life and I have been gifted a cargo van and her and I have been trying to figure out what to do with it. We can't stand being apart for any more then a couple hours. I know, this kinda seems like an off topic from the video I am commenting on, but I felt like commenting here after watching a bunch of your videos, so sue me :)
Anyways, we are going to get married in two months, been together 4 years now. She is the only lady I have been with in my whole that I became best friends with first before dating. I can honestly say her and I are two peas in a pod. So much alike it is scary. We were friends for three years before we actually started dating. Enough about her and I, let's talk about how you two have gotten me to come to the conclusion that I am gonna get her to watch your videos, just so she can see how living in a van could only make her and I more close. I believe you two, never mind the fact that her and I are so much alike she will probably say she has been thinking about this for a minute, will help me convince her to do a van build(again, not really have to convince her hehe).
So, gonna see if she will be down with it, if so, I will start the build asap. Hopefully it will be done so when we actually start the rest of our life as one life, Honeymoon that never ends. I will be continuing to watch and if she says yes, to van living, she already said yes to marriage, hopefully we will see you guys on the road.
I hope your still looking for land. Britney, I love the scarp books, I wish I could have kept all the physical things I've grown up with but I've moved and down sized so many times that I had to digitalize it all and the keepsakes had to become someone else's treasure. I hope you get to keep your things. I lived in Neptune Beach for about six years, and I loved five of them, LOL. It's amazing the difference's between west and east coast. I miss the beach the most, and the beautiful ladies. I look forward to the next adventure.

Come to Alaska in 2022. It takes a bit of planning and research to optimize your time but it would be worth it and we would love to have you here.
Highlights: Cross into Canada in Montana. There is a ton of wildlife and beautiful views all the way up the AlCan. Destruction Bay comes to mind.
The crossing between Canada and Alaska is where I have seen the most wolves and caribou.
Tok is a funny little town with a great restaurant/motel/gas station.
Santa Clause House in North Pole Alaska is fun but better in the winter. The tourist information center in North Pole has wonderful handmade Alaska gifts.
I always enjoy the Alaska Salmon Bake in Fairbanks.
A controversial tip. Skip the Parks Highway and Denali. Go instead through Glennalan highway through Paxson Lake. There’s always way more wildlife, better views, and less traffic.
If you must see Denali closer up try Talkteetna it’s a wonderful little town with great views of the mountain.
Anchorage is best avoided if you have to visit see earthquake park and move on.
The Seward highway is the most beautiful drive anywhere in Alaska. It’s also the most deadly so watch out for crossover traffic and falling rocks. You can go kiteboarding on the boar tided if you plan it right or maybe even see whales in Turnagain Arm.
The Alaska Wildlife Rehabilitate Center is a great organization and worth a visit.
Whittier is an awesome place to get a great glacier cruise while visiting a very unique place. Just remember the tunnel only goes in one direction during certain times and you have to plan for it or miss your cruise.
I would recommend Homer over Seward. I like the food and the views better in Homer.
I would also recommend taking the Alaska Marine Highway out of Alaska. It takes a lot of planning to get the ferry out of Whittier as it is almost always sold out.
Plan so you can spend at least a day or two in all the great towns the ferry stops in on your way to Bellingham Washington.
Bonus: look at taking regional flights to some of the villages you can only fly into.

Good to see the two of you back in your van, I think I may have been kiting at OBX when Drew was there, camped at the Frisco NPS campground in my Sprinter. Before getting my van I lived full-time aboard a sailing catamaran and more recently for the past 6 years have been spending summers in Alaska captaining a commercial salmon fishing tender. In the marine industry its best practice not to solder electrical connections due to the belief that the wire can flex but the solder will not which may result in the wire breaking at the solder-wire interface. After the past 7 months of van-life, traveling from coast to coast, I'm currently in Maine spending the last few days in my van before heading to Alaska next week, maybe this fall our paths will cross, keep up the good work!

I think it would be great for you to run a campsite in a National Park or anywhere that involves hiking. Glacier Nat'l Park for instance is only open about 4 months of the year. And then get back into the van life and get Brittany into the warmer climates.

i used to ride my bike alone all day for miles when I was younger. Used to be able to go out in the woods and camp by myself and explore alone too. Fished a lot. Then found my future wife at age 15 and I can't go far from her now. 36 years together now... She's so busy with her horse business and our daughter and grand kids... Now all I want to do is explore but hard to do it without her. I think this fall I am going to try and take a trip by myself. Not too far away but for a day or two. Maybe live out of my Equinox, fish and plein air paint some too...

I have that same solar panel and mounting brackets on my van and they’re installed with only 2 sided tape on the brackets. Approximately 12 Sq inches. I would love it to be screwed in but my van is 35 years old and the roof is made out of fibreglass. So far it’s holding on. 🤞

It seems I’m constantly redoing my van for optimal storage. I’m not a fill timer and will always own a sticks and bricks home so I only need the things I think I’ll use on a trip, but I’m still learning what those things are exactly 🙃😜. I just got back to so cal from TN and will be heading out again in a couple of weeks. When I’m traveling I don’t always have good service so I fall behind on my favorite channels. Have you considered adding a roof (wind) deflector, to protect the solar panels? Maybe one made for a big rig, but placed on the van?

I know your heading north and western washington is your fav up here but you should come yo spokane Couer d Alene there ate many beautiful areas for you to see. Sandpoint has a gorgeous beach and there's many camping areas all over Eastern Washington and Idaho.

We never clean our solar panels unless there’s snow on them ... have tested before and after cleaning and minimal change. Anyways, great video and safe travels!

Haha Yes! She actually took a few beginner lessons in Dakhla, Morocco years ago. I like giving her rides cruising over the water piggy back style when I kiteboard.

Our solar on our house is also letting us down lately. I think we may have to cut back on our usage. With hubby retired and home, there’s a lot more cooking and baking happening, in our electric oven.
Hope you can get that sorted. It sounds like you may have a lot of high wattage devices. Our water heater is a high draw so we run the van when using it. (approx 1550watts for 15 mins) We like that we have propane for our oven/stove so we don't rely on the batteries as well. @@Mrandmrsadventure thank you! We had an electric heater running in one of our sheds we built to temporarily house our daughter’s kitties. They were very cozy, but I think it cost us a lot. I’m also going to try to convince my hubby to do more grilling outside from now on, instead of using our electric stove and oven. Thanks again for responding 🥰

Panel install...wondering...what if one side of panel had hinges. The panel could be lifted up out of the way (or even flipped back), to allow more floor space for sunsets?
How about all panels have hinges to capture best sun angle?

Yes, angling for the sun would help a lot and capture more direct rays making the power produced stronger. I don't think it would help too much for having more floor space and hanging out though. Can't say we would get up there on the regular to angle it though. Good idea and insight. 🙏
Crimp but connectors is preferred over soldering in the automotive industry. Better mechanical and electrical connection plus way easier. Just remember to use heat shrink but connectors for exterior use such as the engine compartment to prevent corrosion.
Interesting. Is this because the solder can break over time? as well as the ability to disconnect at the connection points? Thanks for the insight
@@Mrandmrsadventure yes, solder is not a good mechanical connection. It breaks and the Flux can cause corrosion if not purposely used causing resistance resulting in a voltage drop.
