I gotta say, massive respect to you for still using the Vulp as your main flipper for most of these tutorials. Still looks and sounds pristine compared to my scuffed up brandon edition lol. It's cool to see someone use an easily accessible, and affordable bali for demonstration purposes. It really helps folks gain confidence that they can also be capable of doing the tricks shown in the video with the beginner knife that they may also have purchased. Keep up the good work m8!
On a side note, I have been advocating to folks that the new Extrusion is an absolutely great, fun, and affordable flipper from Nabalis for only $50. They recently updated the design to include more grip with their upcoming restock. I would love to see you try and use it in a tutorial someday as it comes in a wicked purple color that could look great on camera. Either way, happy flipping man!

I am glad to hear that me using a more affordable balisong in lots of my videos has had a positive impact! I have thought about that before, while I have had multiple reasons to use my Vulp throughout my videos, I'm a big believer in people using whatever they have on hand to its fullest extent. I don't want people to feel held back by the balisong they have and instead learn as much as they can on whatever they have. Of course a higher quality balisong can be more enjoyable, there are a lot of good options nowadays for pretty cheap. I think it's easy for any skill based hobby for people to get caught up thinking better gear will increase their performance, but I think unless you have the mindset to improve no matter the obstacle, better gear won't really change anything.
The Extrusion looks pretty cool and I would love to try one out one day! I got the Canyon a few months ago and for $40 for the trainer, it's pretty great. I'm curious how the two compair, especially for recommending to a beginner. They definitely have a lot of differences, which is cool. Thanks for watching and leaving such detailed comment, I appreciate the support and suggestion!

I’d love to see different ways to continue after a z choker so it can be in the middle of the combo.

isn’t this a z choker fan?I think a z choker stalls out after the fixed ladder then ends in a whip rollover..
squid industries type z choker taught by jelly..I dunno ..I think will hirsch calls this a z choker..but
they also calls it a giraffe without completed a rev mid chap..I doesn’t matter or anything just wondering if there are two different types of the z choker?standard z choker and z choker fan..thanks man..keep up the great tutorials!

That is a great question! Balisong trick names can be difficult for multiple reasons. I do consider what I'm doing to be more accurately called the Z-Choker to ice pick catch, but also that it's still okay calling it just a Z-Choker. I think anything where you start with the balisong between your 3 fingers and the blade pointing down then go into that choker fan movement to be a Z-Choker and honestly I have no idea what is the 'official' way out of it, if there is even one.
I think what makes something the official or standard form of the trick really comes down to what most people refer to it as due to there rarely being good documentation on what the official trick would be. Unless the person that first did the trick and/or coined the name has the first video detailing it, it's going to end up being up to popular consensus. Kinda like with language and however people end up using a word is what it means eventually. Of course that is a descriptive approach to language and some people do have a prescriptive view, but that does require some kind of authority to give the meanings to words, or give names to tricks.
      Thanks for leaving a comment!

I think it’s a fixed ladder to choker fan maybe..
Trick names don’t really matter though..your rev concepts def influenced my flipping !

@@reefblip Yeah, I've seen the Squid Industries tutorial for it, in that same video they called the Z-Choker to icepick that I'm doing a Z-Choker Open so I think they would consider it a Z-Choker still. Names are only important to help people know how to communicate about which tricks are what in my opinion. I just tend to call tricks by what I've heard most people refer to them as.
I'm so glad to hear that my reverse flow video has helped you so much!
