I came up with this combo and posted a short about it recently and there was some interest in a tutorial video so I made one! I hope this explanation makes sense and you are able to learn this combo from the video easily! Please leave any any questions you have! The balisong trainer I am using is the Nabalis x Will Hirsch Vulp
@@MeshuggahDave. By coming up with this combo, I don't mean that it has never before been done and I am the first person to do it. I just mean that I had not seen this combo in its entirety anywhere yet when I pieced together the various tricks and shorter pieces of other combos that this one is composed of. There are so many tricks and combos on the internet, and even more that may never be uploaded, it is impossible to know whether or not something is truly original before I post it. I am curious though, have you seen this specific combo somewhere before? I would like to check it out if so!
Thank you! I was actually thinking of doing a balisong collection/my flipping journey video for a 500 subscriber thank you video. At this rate, it will probably be pretty soon! I do have a couple of other balis, but not a huge collection by any means 😅
I realize I am way late with this reply, but if you still need it, I hope this will help. In this video I underemphasized how much it can help to throw the balisong up during this movement when you're learning it. For the trick to look smooth it is important to keep the upward movement as low as possible, but while learning the trick it is okay to throw it up quite a lot more until you get comfortable with it. @@ericfarkas148 If you are struggling with getting this movement down due to using a live blade and the inherent risk involved, I highly recommend using a trainer (or taping the blade so it can't cut you) to learn the move first and get it into your muscle memory before you try it with a live blade.
Just a heads up, that's not a Rev Chaplin, thats just going the other way. A Rev Chaplin is under the hand, or vertical around the index (for example) and it spins towards you.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment and give a correction! From what I understand though, the chaplin in the combo is indeed a reverse chaplin. A rev chaplin is just a chaplin that spins in the opposite direction from a regular chaplin; the orientation (over your hand like normal, under the hand, vertical) does not matter. That is what I have seen in any other video I have come across such as the Squid Industries tutorial for the rev chap. It sounds like the other 2 types of chaplins you described are reverse chaplins too though!
The balisong trainer is the Vulp made by Nabalis. Here is a link to the official website: www.nabalis.com/products/the-vulp-the-first-trainer-of-nabalis-x-will-hirsch You can also find it on Amazon, BladeHQ, and AliExpress.
@@Reo9ine Some balisongs more easily fly off the finger during chaplins, but yes, more weight on the ends of the handles usually helps. The chaplin is a trick that can take quite a bit of practice to really get comfortable doing well. Just keep trying things out, finding what works, and don't give up!
Thank you! I haven't actually disassembled the Vulp yet, so I have not had to reassemble it yet either. I know Will Hirsch has an in depth video about how to tune balisongs and he uses the Vulp in that video to serve as a guide to assembling the Vulp also, I'm pretty sure.
Its a cool combo, the bounce to rev chaplin is what I wanted but the whole thing together is cool Its not cool anymore I just dropped my bali on my phone and cracked the screen
I like to recap often because when I'm learning a combo from a tutorial I find it helpful for remembering the steps when people do that. I realize I didn't include timestamps for this one, but I did mention there would be a slow-motion at the end of the video in case you want to just watch that to follow along.
Thank you! I'm sure you will be able to get this one 😃 Yes I do, though I really have not posted anything on there yet. I made it just to have an official one in case I need it really. Here's the link though instagram.com/benshaminflips?igshid=MzNlNGNkZWQ4Mg==

I feel like it's easier and somewhat cleaner to do the rev Chaplin vertically, that's just how I did it out of first instinct though.

I’ve learned many tricks up to around advanced yet I’m still unable to find one that ends in that pinch grip at the end
The trick called the Kiss Goodbye is one that ends in the pinch grip. This combo ends in a very similar way to that trick
