Nice to see a young person enjoy an old classic movie . I love these old movies too that were filmed 10 years before I was born . I like the old movies because there are no sex scenes , smut , cussing , etc.. Can't stand to watch anything modern these days

When I saw these westerns it was reruns on a Saturday afternoon! I would get all the housework done, with my mom and then lay down, on the floor and watch the TV! Those were the days when I was in high school!!

Yes, in the Hopalong Cassidy movies that’s what Red or Lucky is always doing. When it’s California and Lucky, Hoppy’s always telling them not to follow him or to not go wherever he’s going. However, Lucky’s always telling California that they need to go wherever Hoppy is because he might need them in case he gets in trouble. Sure enough, they go anyway and Lucky get Hoppy in trouble and Hoppy has to clean up Lucky’s mess for him. And, of course Hoppy just chuckles about it and tells him that that’s ok, which annoys the fire out of me. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😬😬😬😬😬😬

I sent away for an autographed picture of Rocky Lane with a coupon from the back of his comic book. Probably cost me a quarter....When I got home from school, Mom told me that the picture had arrived...you can tell it was a 8x10 because it was in a brown manila envelope with Republic Pictures for the return address. Our cat had gotten ahold of it and chewed into the envelope...Fortunately, the picture was not damaged, but there were two chunks taken out of the border. I put the photo in my cowboy memoriabilia scrapbook I had filled with letters and photos of the different stars. Sold it along with my collection to help my daughter settle her mother's estate....Don't think Rocky would have minded it...That's the kind of thing he did in the movies.

Love these old Westerns w/Rocky Lane, but you have to wonder WHO NAMED THESE MOVIES?? NO RUSTLERS; NO CATTLE OR HERDS OF HORSES!! This episode is a kidnapping, murder & attempted railroad swindle!! Just a good, clean, cowboy movie w/decent language & a good moral plot!! ❤❤

The shot (3:40) of the guy who jumped on the runaway horses must have been from a different movie. He had a light colored shirt and jumped on the front team. Rocky Lane wore a dark shirt and was on a horse from the back team. This kind of scene stealing from one movie to another went on all the time. That's why it's a B movie.

3:36f When Rocky (actually stuntman) jumps on the horses to stop the stagecoach, the stuntman is wearing a light colored shirt. The before and after shot Rocky is wearing a dark colored shirt. He jumps on the front left horse but stops it from behind the left rear horse. The stage driver gets up on the stage but another man drives it away. This show was poorly produced when it came to bloopers.

"Rile" is a vernacular pronunciation of "roil"
    .
roil (v.) 1580s, of uncertain origin. Perhaps from French rouiller "to rust, make muddy," from Old French roil "mud, muck, rust" (12c.), from Vulgar Latin *robicula, from Latin robigo "rust" (see robust); or perhaps from Old French ruiler "to mix mortar," from late Latin regulare "to regulate." Or perhaps somehow imitative. An earlier borrowing of the French verb is Middle English roil "to roam or rove about" (early 14c.). Related: Roiled; roiling.
    .
rile (v.) 1825, American English spelling alteration to reflect a dialectal pronunciation of roil (q.v.); compare heist from hoist and in the same era spile for spoil (v.). Bartlett writes that in both England and America roil "is now commonly pronounced and written rile"
