I've done a few jobs like this and they are far from as simple as they might seem. Dealing with walls that are not flat or vertical or don't meet at right angles. It can be very frustrating to get, for example, the door to sit properly in the frame. I think you did a great job of it, it turned out really well. Nice one!
Amen, Watcher. Many of the makers who have been popular for years are doing blogs or reviewing products and such nonsense. I guess all of us run out of creativity at some point, but in any case I'm glad that Keith is hanging in there and hey, he's got the best legs of all of the blokes, doesn't he?
Thanks I appreciate it. Project videos don't perform well, unless it's something big or wacky.... I think that's why not many people do them anymore.... Videos about tools usually do far better. It's a shame.
Loving the faces as you unload the van lol. Experience tells me that magnet won't hold. Not a criticism of you like, It's just how stuffed these cloak cupboards get! They'll be be down B&Q for a latch before long I'll wager. Nice one Kieth. Good to see you're getting a variety of jobs in bud.
Lots of interesting ideas there on how to install a custom cabinet into an awkward space. I would not have thought of cutting those uprights short but you are correct that there is no reason not to! Still, I was looking forward to all the comments complaining about the light switch and you took away that fun.
Nicely done. If you have to, you could move switch to the new left wall of your closet. If you have to. Otherwise you might end up in Narnia looking for the switch once the closet is full. 🤓 Interesting ideas seeing how you solved the problem.
Air nails can stabilize your connections, to keep from twisting, along with the screw being used as mechanical hold. Of course I would still use the glue for added measure.
Great video, I have a big smile ace in my hall where I think a cupboard like this would be a great idea. As opposed to getting a company like sharps to do a design and install. Seems this may be cheaper?
Love it and looks fantastic! I so miss doing projects I used to help my ex doing renovations! He always teased me being left handed and would say where is the left handed screwdriver 🤦🏼♀️🤣
I love such nicely/custom fitted pieces. However, I would have included some sort of corner trim piece (hardwood?) since a mdf corner in the middle of a narrow hallway WILL be dented and ugly within months ....
“Ripped down in the car park” (or parking lot). All the time. Thank goodness for battery saws. Fortunately it looks like the skirting board didn’t have much of a profile. Thanks for the video.
Screws with more unthreaded length under the head pull parts together better. Maybe you're using what's on hand? Or you prefer a full thread for some reason?
It's not really possible to stock so many screws that you have the perfect one for every job. Besides I didn't really have any issues with the screws not pulling in this project...
Looks great. Do you think you’d have done it quicker if you built it all on site? I’m so rubbish at measuring that I could never have built the frame in a workshop 😂
I think it would have probably taken me a bit longer if on site, just because workshop working is so convenient with all the tools and workbenches at hand
I am surprised that the 3 light switches are hardly ever used. I would guess that they are 2 way switches for the hall and stairs and a single way for the outside light and as such they would be very useful
If you've only come here for Dylan you're going to be really disappointed again :( This lack of Dylan situation isn't good enough Keith. On the plus side, I once read on the back of a match box "The man who can't make a mistake can't do anything". Top marks for being open and honest.
Cheers Harvey! Dylan isn't allowed in my workshop as it is too close to the busy road. He's not allowed at Steve's either because it's several miles away 🤣 he will make an appearance in most home/garden footage though as he usually follows me around!
Not really, if they're true friends they understand you need to put food on the table. I always do "mates rates" though but that's because I'm fortunate to earn via UA-cam etc. in addition to commissions

I follow a ton of "woodworking" type channels, and you are one of very few still doing projects (or at least interesting projects).
Lol, thank you!
I was just thinking that this morning, hardly any real projects anymore... They say material prices are finally coming back down, sure hope so!
Definitely varied and honest, he makes mistakes. Have a look at Gid Joiner channel. Great projects there too

Nice build mate ..... loving the show plate on the van 👍🤣
Cost me a fortune!
I like seeing projects like this, it's a simple but brilliant idea to hide everything. Looked great once it was all painted up
Cheers James👍
been binge watching a lot of your content mate!
That turned out spot on! I was wondering about the light switches...thanks for explaining.

So neat and tidy and discreet! The beauty of custom cabinetry, it fits so slickly in place!

Keith i believe that's what we call, a cockup averted!!!
Overall it turned out pretty great 👍!!!
Nice, professional job, Keith.
Good to see the pros making the odd mistake in a similar vain as us novices. 👍👍👌 Nice job. 👌
Another great job. I really love the finished product.
Good job Mr Brown !
Really like that, great job Keith

Good video... execution was great...how come you didn’t spray the parts ..? That door was crying out to be sprayed lol
Trying to keep my spray gun clean, i.e. clear coats only from now on, until I can afford to buy another
The handle will be fitted when the misses tell him the one she wants him to fit? That was what you meant to say Keith, right?
Possibly! 👍

Nice job Keith...planning really helps...or so my missus tells me.
Great job buddy
I have dot and dab in my house. I use Corefix heavy duty dot and dab fixings and highly recommend them
Cheers will check them out
Could I ask, what is "dot and dab?"
It's a method of securing plasterboard on to block or brick walls using "dots" of adhesive which the plasterboard gets pushed on to or "dabbed"
@@RagnBoneBrown Thanks. New term to me.
Impressive custom job, sir🤙🏻
Great job. I always enjoy your projects.
Always learn a lot watching the projects you do. Ps love your car.🌟🌟
Lol, I have a short wheel base Berlingo - no stranger to having to rip stuff down in car parks to fit it in 🤣
Nice 👍
Tidy job mate 👍

New van? You like it?
It arrived last week despite some delivery issues! I like it very much and will feature it in an upcoming vlog. Thank you Tim

What's a packer? (Do you have to illuminate it with a torch if you take it out of your boot and into a lift whilst eating a chip butty?)
you have to open the cupboard everytime you need to turn lights on / off????
Explained at the end of the video
Its perfect !! 👏🏻😊😍
So how much did you charge for. 11 hours of work plus supplies?
Hi mate how is the light switch going to work now you put a cabinet over it.🤔🤔

@@RagnBoneBrown Hi mate sorry I didn't realise you specify the reason in the end of the video
good job :)

What is the marking pencil/tool you are using please,I can’t see it on your affiliate listing?

I think it's up to them, isn't it??
Trust me we barely use them , outside is pir and even in winter we hardly use the other 2 .and even if we do not much fuss opening a door
Milwaukee tools now eh someone’s doing well!
Where can I find you to help me 😩
Hi Keith, great video as always! Quick question - what's the brand of the marking pencil you're using? Can't find it in your Amazon tools page...?
amzn.to/3CK98jN 👍
@@RagnBoneBrown Amazing, thanks very much!
Can you still buy those blue plastic handled chisels?
amzn.to/3xvlubJ looks like it
That jigsaw is so quiet! What brand is it?
I think maybe he just ran it slowly
Milwaukee, but yeah I was cutting slow
the door seems to be bowed?
yeah wood has a habit of doing that.... It wasn't too bad
It shouldn't take too many minutes to move the light switches from the wall and reposition them on the outside of the side of the cabinet instead.

We simply don't have the land available compared to the population in the UK to build big houses on big plots like they do in the USA
I did'nt realise you could get straight lengths of timber everything I buy puts a banana to shame.
