for anyone looking for proof, ax+b = m(cx+d) + n on equating coefficients, m = a/c n = (bd-ac)/c² after substituting ax+b in the integral, we get I = m ∫dx + n ∫[1/cx+d]dx both are standard integrals, on solving, we get I = mx + (n/c)ln|cx+d| + constant use m and n from above and we get the result
