I purchased the Tranquility 19L. After struggling with some quality issues and misinformation from Thor as well as no customer service from LaMesa RV in Sacramento, I actually really like the van. I've probably spent another 6000.00 or so on upgrades/modification/repairs, and think I'm past the curve on most of the problems. I have to say the fit and finish is somewhat to be desired. I really have nothing to compare it to since this is my first RV. There is more storage are in the 19L as opposed to the 19P which is a plus. The way I see it , I saved about 50,000.00 when comparing it to the competition , and when I checked out their forum , those rigs have issues also. All in all, I'm going to use it, and if I get tired of it , I'll sell it.
Update; Just got back from a week long trip up 395 east side of the Sierras. Knock on wood, everything worked flawlessly. I did off grid camping and used my 3500 dual fuel generator about an hour each morning to bring the batteries back up to 100% Had enough water storage, but had to be mindful of it to make it last. Took a couple quick showers, while being pretty tight, it was possible. Used the water heater and put the thermostat for the area heater on 64 at night. Barely used half my propane storage , even running the generator off it. I'm pretty happy at this point, and will keep the van at least till next year.
So many ppl have been complaining about the quality of the Thor motor home. This is definitely a brand I wouldn’t purchase. 153k is way too much for what you are getting
Honestly I wouldn't buy a Thor product again. There are better options available . I definitely wouldn't buy anything from LaMesa in Davis California. Worst customer service ever.
Also the van from MB with out any build out is 80k Not sure how much more tech you would want in the driving area??? Has full safty tech, adaptive cruise, full telemetry. And the seat allows for full movement if you can’t get comfortable you must be over 6’6”. FYI the rotary knob isn’t the inverter. The 19L has a smaller shower. But has a garage area. Two totally different floor plans. And I guess you are being honest but rather just not being realistic either. Oh well.
It’s just sad to me that MB sells something that’s literally a cockpit and a row of seats for $80k… could use a bigger screen, digital display, better stereo, larger fuel tank (range sucks). Living area had no storage, was tough for 2 people on a week long road trip, shower was unusable, had to stop at truck stops or RV sites. Water tank leaked. I have been super busy at work but I need to make an update video on how everything was. I ended up liking things more but found more things that are annoying.
You may have gotten lucky to get one without many of the common issues being reported. If you don't mind me asking, what have been the issues you have had? I'm genuinely curious to know what owners think of this van because it might still be worth purchasing if you know how to fix things yourself. You'll still spend a few thousand dollars on repairs but if you can do it yourself you will save a lot of money and time.
@@apex_ventures Pretty much how I saw it also. Several thousand less than the competition . How bad can it be. After several months of repairs and trips to the service center I finally got the bugs sorted out. Only problem left currently was the 3500 watt generator wouldn't power the A/C unless the battery was 100% charged. Lame. I've lost my patience with Thor. I bought a Winnebago Ekko. Much better quality, and superior materials. I'll miss the Mercedes , but won't miss the Thor part of it. The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten. So long Tranquility.
Thor has been known for a long time for poor builds, but it seems like it has gotten worse since the pandemic. The demand went up and they started pumping them out of the factory faster while simultaneously having supply chain issues. The price you see at $153k is the MSRP. So your parents should have paid less than that. If they didn't then they overpaid. Regardless the quality of the build is not good for something over $100k.
I remember them saying something about paying less but I don’t know exactly how much. But you’re right it’s such a joke quality wise. You could buy an almost new class A coach for that money.
I've been comparing both Thor 19P, 19L, against the Winnebago Revel and it's obvious this youtuber has not been in the 19L or the Revel. Go look at these RVs for yourself and workout your daily activities and see which works best for you. It's a class B with diesel and 4x4.
This type of quality is absolutely unacceptable, especially at this price range. This van needs to be returned. Lemon Law can apply here, as this van is quite poorly built…
Thanks for honest reviews !! I've watched other reviews and seems like Thor is known with quality issues.

@@rayswiney7398 hopefully the interior doesn’t start to fall apart
@@treedeblue I ended up rolling the van. Worked out fine and now have a Winnebago Ekko. Much improved.

Canadian's pay $250 + taxes, for this .
The Revel is $300 with taxes included!
$153,000.00,fully equipped with no storage,now that’s a deal breaker,

Got this bad boy a month ago and been enjoying it. No regrets in my purchase. Don’t know what this guy is talking about his parents owns it.
Yep! As mentioned multiple times, my parents own it and I took it on a 7 day road trip. I’m glad you’re liking yours 👍🏻
