Just my 2 cents on the accent comment. I moved to the UK from Kenya at the age of 10 and moved around quite a bit within the UK hence I have no defined accent. I have always found that when I’m here in the UK people tend to ask where my accent is from and when I’m in Kenya people comment on my ‘British accent’ and when I speak Swahili ‘which I still speak fluently’ there is still comments about pronunciation. For so long i suffered with a sense of belonging because I felt I didn’t belong anywhere, neither UK or Kenya, which really impacted on my self esteem but the older I got the more I realised people will always have something to say and I learned to ignore the comments and questions. I mean as long as you can understand what I’m saying and we can communicate what’s the issue please?! 😁

Nice outfits - you look gorgeous! Recently left a 9yr friendship - it's been hell. What keeps me sane is avoiding the triggers (blocked all social media,no calls/texts, avoiding places we went to frequently), taking care of me by still doing things I love albeit alone. What doesn't kill you...
Whenever i have a problem, i run to Lyd..she always responds fast. Now that she is going through a challenge, i feel bad coz i do not know how to help her..maybe she needs words maybe silence..i will never know. Hugs Lyd. We love you😍

I have had maaaajor complications trying to get rid of my body hair so I'm at a point where I don't really bother; 9 out of 10 times I will have my body hair not shaven. I don't think everyone has to like that about me,but I suggest they keep their opinions to themselves and I don't walk around lifting my arms for my hair to show,I just walk around normal. It is just a little part of me, and I'm much much more than that.
I was abit busy I've missed a few podcasts bt when I read Lyd's stories I knew I had to quickly come check up on her here.

It takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you do, my oh my!!!! It might not happen in the heat of the moment (this is where flooding space come in)… but being able to assess and convey the impact of your action on your partner, and actively outline measures to ensure that it does not happen again is ….if not anything else…goddanm hot 🥵.

Thanks for reading my comment ladies. The one on contraception. Contraception is a way to own our own lives and in that way empowering. I don't think you folks are blindly advocating for contraceptives but I think as a whole, the society and scientists aren't speaking enough about the adversity of the effects. It can be very exhausting to go through 1, 2 or 3 contraceptive methods all with their own effects before you find one that works. So it's really up to scientists and researchers to give these stories more emphasis.
Lydia should be a publicist,,her choice of words is everything,,she can literally get these politicians out of their numerous scandals 😂😂

I watched an episode on @Bump Love where the ladies hosted Anne Kansiime who struggled with getting a baby and she made a statement. I am paraphrasing, there is nothing in your human power that you can do to get a baby 👶.
That was a light bulb moment💡. Now, it makes me think about the correlation between contraceptives and failure to get pregnant. What about people who just fail, no contraceptives, nothing and still fail to have babies. Those are my two cents... ... I do agree.. choose what works for you or not use anything, as long as you're comfortable with your decision, you can always handle the results..

Regarding pple pushing back on ya set boundaries,initially when u say NO, that should be enough coz NO is a full sentence, no need for further explanation.
However,when someone pushes for more explanation, in that moment, stand ya ground & kindly but candidly let them know why.
Yes!the other party will not like what u have to say, but like they say,"don't ask qns u don't want to hear the answers to."
If u force me to open that door because u're pushing, don't get mad when I fully let u in.
Boundary pushers are entitled habitual pple who are constantly testing ya limits to see how much they can get away with.
Shld u fail to address that pushed boundary in the moment, then u've set a precedent for self explanation. Remember u teach pple how to treat u.
Nip that in the bud fast & quickly, so that it doesn't become a "lifestyle."
U're an adult & u're explaining yaself to another adult who isn't law enforcement/authority/...who does that & where they do that at?

Great conversation as always ladies. I think it’s important not to conflate the myriad of reasons that may cause infertility, with the effect of contraception usage on future ability to conceive. I don’t think it’s accurate to place the “blame” on contraception on an inability to conceive before going through a complete fertility work up. (Both male AND female workups!) Just my two cents 😊

I am one of the ones who's body doesn't agree with any of the contraception methods apart fron condoms😅 Hormonal ones did a number on me, i'm still recovering from the hormonal imbalance 2 years later. Kwanza the mantal symptoms anxiety, depression, crazy mood swings😭I can't use the non-hormonal iud bacause I have endometriosis and my periods are already as heavy as can be. So its condoms and being conscious of where I am in my cycle at all times for me and it works. Pull and pray can work too if your man is a ninja🤣.

I still think us not liking body hair is a social conditioning. That hair grows naturally from our bodies they must be serving a specific purpose. If we still wax or shave the hair grows back because it was meant to be there. For example the hair on our head (men and women) protects the scalp a very sensitive organ. Finding body hair unattractive has been imposed on us and is not even 100 years old. Our grandparents and people of the past never saw the need and they were still attractive. Think about it.
