Items are never really lost in Subnautica - if you die and loose some stuff (which is limited to collected ressources like titanium btw, you never loose tools) the items drop at the location of your death. If you return to the location you can pick the items up again. Same is the case if you drop something at the sea floor - the items do not despawn if you leave the area and return back later, they will sit on the sea floor indefinetly. Ha! First off, Hi Derek! Thanks for watching the video! I can really only speak for myself and not for the other UA-camrs or Twitch gamers, but I've noticed for myself as I go back and watch a lot of these videos that I definitely play games differently on screen than I always had before this channel started when I was able to play without knowing that a thousand people were going to be watching and scrutinizing every move I make. I mean, don't get me wrong, I have really enjoyed this new venture on UA-cam and the awesome people I've been able to meet and interact with every day since doing it, but there is definitely something to be said about how different you process things when you know you're being watched. It changes the way that your brain works and you can't help but get caught up in the fact that you're not alone, and often will focus more on the people you're with, or in this case people watching you, than you are with the obvious details that are in the game that you might focus on more if you were sitting alone in privacy. That's just the nature of it really, and something that I've been progressively getting more used to. A lot of the newer videos I've been making lately, both in this series, and in others, I've been getting a better handle on balancing the two. I appreciate the long suffering and patience that my audience has graciously given me over the last 7 months! Thanks again for watching, man!
One of my favorite things to do while I'm working is to load up a blind Subnautica playthrough and just relive my first time vicariously. I know this'll be a good one when I see you've found a (rather large) buddy at the back of the Aurora before getting a handle on food and water. Gonna keep watching, and I hope you're still enjoying yourself. P.S. I hope you didn't soil your pants too badly haha
Haha! I'm so glad you watched the video and I hope you do enjoy the series. I am absolutely addicted to Subnautica, and as a matter of fact I just put a whole bunch of new videos out on patreon that will hit UA-cam soon where I've been able to progress through some really cool stuff! This is one of those games I hate putting down because I can always think of things I want to get into and try! Really glad to have you here Beany!
Hey Callie! So glad to have you as a part of the Let's Play Easy Mode family and thanks for the comments! Subnautica is definitely turning into a favorite for me! You're right about the community too. I've been so encouraged by fellow Subnautica gamers who have showed me such patience and kindness. 🙂 My kind of people!
I discovered you today when looking for another blind Subnautica playthrough to watch. It's one of my favorite games ever and I have over a thousand hours clocked on it. Really enjoying this so far. I like your style of play. QUestioning things and reading things. I found my next binge! :)
Hi Sara! Thank you so much! Welcome to our community and the channel! I think I'm actually at the end of Subnautica now. I just uploaded my 42nd episode to patreon which will hit UA-cam soon. After that I think I only have one more to go. Without a doubt this has given me so much pleasure and this is now probably in my top 10 video games of all time! I hope that as you watch the series you'll be able to give me some grace, as it took me a while to learn the ropes and I know that someday when I decide to go back and play it again, my second playthrough would be totally different. I guess that's the joy of a first-time blind playthrough though! I've been told by many veteran players that this was a rather unconventional playthrough. Hopefully you find enjoyment in it! Thanks again for watching and the awesome comment!
Hey there! Oh, just wait! There are plenty of moments that will probably make an experienced player as yourself laugh and cry! LOL I'm actually working on my latest subnautica video right now and I can tell you it has been one awesome journey through the game so far!
I love watching these Subnautica reactions. Love yelling at the reactor in frustration for continuing to miss some basic essential thing, totally forgetting all the things I missed on my first playthrough. 🤣 But I loved how you figured out the brain coral's oxygen production straight away. Just watched another reactor continuously go up to it, watch the bubbles, and swim away. One time he was even right up close when he said "I need oxygen", so he swims to the surface and says "well, we're learning". I laughed so hard. Looking forward to the rest of them. And hopefully Below Zero (I haven't checked yet to see if you have)
Hey D! Thank you so much for watching and thank you so much for the comment! I can't really say anything about that other UA-camr because I have definitely had my share of lame brain moments over and over again in my series. 🤣 I'll go back and watch these videos sometimes and just face palm myself. I do eventually plan on checking out the next game as well. I wanted to finish this one first and then I planned on doing subnautica zero below. I was really bummed out though because I'm playing this on Xbox game pass and they just removed Below Zero from game pass. I guess it's time to not be so cheap and actually buy a game again. LOL
Ah, so you also watched Ryan's (indigestion's) playthrough. 🤣 I just finished his and haven't had enough Subnautica, so here I am. If you're ever looking for more, NAC Games is currently doing a blind playthrough that's been a lot of fun so far. He’s still very early game, though.
Ooo, blind playthroughs are fun to find and this is an awesome game. Gotta admit, I'm glad you didn't choose freedom, personally, despite the initial trouble with food and water. Also, that was probably one of the best Reaper deaths I've ever seen, lol.
Haha! Glad to have you here Tarla! I really hope that you enjoy the series! I sure have come a long way since this episode! 😁 What a great game experience this has been for me!
I salute you! You took the plunge and went for Survival mode! I love Subnautica (probably my favorite game) and really it is not any fun in any other mode. When I start watching a Subnatica Let's Play and they are on Freedom mode... what is the point? I move on to another... and found you! 30:06 I like how when you are running out of oxygen, sound begins to muffle as you hit zero. Even the ambient music fades out slowly.
Honestly, this was my favorite series so far on the channel. I realized that my playstyle is unconventional compared to others and there are times, as you continue watching, you'll see I get to certain things slower than other people, but I can definitely say this is one of my all-time favorite games now. I couldn't believe how many moments that came together organically in the game that offered such a great story to tell. It was a super incredible experience for me! I'd really do hope you enjoy this series! Thanks for watching and thank you for such an awesome comment!
You'll enjoy it. I am. Subnautica is one of those games that is craft and create new things to get to the next thing to hear what comes next in the storyline. The thing that made me want to play Subnautica was believe it or not but I'm thalassemiaphobic, I have the fear of deep water. I barely can go in 4 feet deep water and not panic. Games with water for me anyway are different than real life. They don't act the same as the real thing, but Subnautica, I felt like I was in an ocean. It scared me, but I wanted to know more. So stay frosty, stay well, and enjoy the ride... um swim!
Hey there! Thanks for watching the video. I indeed am in love with this game and just recorded my 41st episode which will hit patreon tomorrow. I'm pretty close to the end I think. It is definitely one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had!
Oh man, I LOVED this game and playthrough. I had NEVER played this kind of game before and had NO idea what I was doing but I grew as I went on and had so many wonderful memories and story points that almost organically provided themselves during this playthrough. We had a wonderful community of people who watched this and helped along the way. This one is near and dear to my heart! Thanks for watching!
Always amuses me that when people say drinking bleach ! when they look at disinfected water like its dangerous or weird, reality is if they live in the UK / US / Canada or well any country with a decent clean water system and they drink the safe tap water then that is exactly what they are drinking, all drinking tap water has chlorine added to it which is a disinfecting bleach it is also the key ingredient of the non safe kind of bleach used to clean surfaces or bleach fabrics white
I don’t know if you ever figured it out but clippings from coral tube and salt make bleach which can be used to make disinfected water. Disinfected water is 12oz as opposed to 6oz of water from the bladder fish. Also make a scanner. Also check your blueprints slowly, it has all the needed ingredients for the things you need to craft.
Hey! Haha! Yeah I wasn't expecting that at all when it happened! Welcome to the channel! You actually picked one of my favorite series that I've done. It definitely had a learning curve to it for me as I had never really done this type of game before, but I really loved making it my own, and I was so blown away by how this first subnautica game created so many organic storytelling moments for my own playthrough with it. I hope you enjoy the series if you keep watching it! This one was really dear to my heart and I gave this game a huge rating it and review at the end! Again, so glad to have you watching my videos! Thank you so much and welcome to the let's play easy mode community!
Nice! Genuinely, this was my favorite series on the channel so far! This first Subnautica is a masterpiece in game development and as this series progressed it gave me SO many wonderfully organic story telling moments! I hope you enjoy this series! We had developed such a wonderful community around this game.
Hey Dylan! First off, thank you so much for watching, subscribing, and commenting! I really appreciate the kind words! You are right when you say that I'm enjoying this game. I had no idea what subnautica even was until one of the members of our community here recommended it. I have been absolutely blown away by the physics and attention to detail in this one. I love the world and the creatures in it. There also seems to be times that this game requires you to think out of the box. I'm starting to really learn that as I go along! Thanks again Dylan! Really glad to have you here
Hey! It's never too late and as a matter of fact this might be my favorite game I'm currently playing right now! I definitely plan on going all the way with this as well as the sequel. Have you played both?
Yep, this game is addictive. The problem is that I've done pretty much everything. There is one thing on my list, which is to kill the Sea Dragon Leviathan, but I am contemplating it because their species is going extinct, and they will not hesitate to fry me if I slip up*. I also kind of want to go to the bottom of the void, but I'm worried about being killed by Ghost Leviathans*. *I play in hardcore.
Thanks! It was definitely something I should have done a lot more of looking back in hindsight. There were plenty of times that I got reprimanded in the comments for not looking enough at the menus or reading some of the PDAs that I picked up along the way. 😁
OMG! i had to laugh, we all made the same mistake... Wow! i want to see ship... Nope nope no.... yep im dead.. 😆 Ah Reaper, you are the best scary creature 😆 also.. i hate you so much lol
Hey there! I actually did finish the game and honestly it was one of the greatest gaming experiences I've had in a really long time! It's been my favorite series on the channel so far! Thanks for watching!
the game is stunning on filmic, but it can make navigating dark caves much more difficult. Also I highly recommend playing in creative and messing around with the base building mechanics before you start an actual playthrough there are a lot key story progressing items that need to be made in a base. its a lot to explain, just do it. You will thank me later.
That would have been a great idea! This playthrough was from quite a while ago, but someday when I jump back into Subnautica for a second playthrough, I would love to just get into the creative mode just for the sake of messing around!
@@letsplayeasymode I liked it. You reminded me of John Lasseter of Pixar introducing my favorite Hayao Miyazaki film, Spirited Away. And this is my favorite game. I liked hearing about what led you to this moment and what you hope to get out of it. I like your open mindedness and you are doing a great job thinking through your situation. I'm only disappointed that I'm just now finding this series. This is one of those games where you only get your first time once, so savor every milestone and bask in every accomplishment. I'm looking forward to living vicariously through YOUR first time ❤
@@Reesanicole83 Hey Blessed! Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment! I can definitely say that my journey through Subnautica has been SO fun! It's one of my favorites now too! Thanks for watching my video and I really hope you enjoy the series!
I was going to watch this playthrough, but the first comment I read is the biggest spoiler ever. There's no such thing as "blind" when everything is written in the comment section
You really should watch his playthrough, don't penalize Scott because I was answering his questions posed at the end of the video. I understand now that he doesn't even read the comments, so I won't be doing that anymore. I hate it when people who reveal spoilers, I didn't reveal any important stuff, just answering his questions. You should watch the video and then judge my comment, there's no way I'm going to spoil anything, there's no way I would do that.
Actually I rely heavily on my comments as you know, respond to all of them, and very much consider Mr. Cortmeister to be a reliable lifeline. Sometimes it may seem like I don't always apply the advice right away and that's only because of the fact that all of my videos hit Patreon first so sometimes by the time I get comments on a video, I've already recorded the next one and it's on Patreon. I'm still trying to figure all that out as I'm going. The greatest joy about this channel for me though, and the reason I do it is because of the amazing people who I've met and consider my new gaming buds! This channel wouldn't be what it is without the awesome community it has watching it and interacting with it. Juan, I'm sorry that you felt robbed of any experience you were hoping for with my video. As I mentioned above, I can relate with you when it comes to not wanting things spoiled for me. That's why whenever I'm watching the videos I like to watch, I always read the comments after I've watched it. I can assure you that you can at least count on the fact that when I say that I'm doing "blind" playthroughs, it's true. That's why I fumble so much! LOL 😀If you're interested in Subnautica and haven't tried it yet, I DEFINITELY recommend that you do! Also, if you would like to still give my playthrough a shot, I can tell you that it's been a ton of fun and one of my favorites to do! Either way, cheers mate! 😁

Hey! It's never too late and as a matter of fact this might be my favorite game I'm currently playing right now! I definitely plan on going all the way with this as well as the sequel. Have you played both?
@@letsplayeasymode yes I've played through it three times. watched probably a dozen playthroughs.
Another one that will think twice about approaching the Aurora all care-free 😅
Haha! I indeed learned very quickly!
Coming from the Halo series, oh boy this is going to be a great watch 😂😂😂
51:13 You are making good progress just by reading and clicking through menus.. most CCers don't really do this til much later.
This look really painful to play with a controller, hope you manage to finish the game it’s pretty good.
I got it for Steam and Switch.
Improve fps of the camera or lower camera quality to 720P so it’s smoother it hurts my eyes
You ate one of the blocks.
I think the version you are on was released July 2021
9:41 Begins playing the game.
LOL, confessingly sometimes my intros to a new series may be a little long-winded. 🙂
Thanks for watching my video and I really hope you enjoy the series!
tools, tools,tools
That has been definitely something I've learned along the way! Thanks for watching!
Also, I don't recommend the sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero. The story is extremely full of plot holes and all over the place.
Yeah, I play that one on the channel as well. It definitely wasn't my favorite.
"If you see something that i am missing"
You mean like the tool tab in the fabricator?🤣
And I´m afraid you didn´t get a good start, sorry.
I was going to watch this playthrough, but the first comment I read is the biggest spoiler ever. There's no such thing as "blind" when everything is written in the comment section
Haha! I understand. That's why I never read the comments before I watch a video.
@@scottcortmeister4164 I agree you didn’t reveal anything really important. Just the basics of survival. There is SO much more to come.
@@mummaleto What? There's so much more to come? Spoiler! Lol...
