    1:10:13 that’s why the fans IMMEDIATELY hear it for 5 notes or less when we hear it Easter-egged into a trailer like at the last few seconds of the final TOTK trailer

    37:05 - Notice that after you defeated the first redead, the others ignored you as you ran by. In OoT, whenever you kill a Redead, any other redeads nearby will slowly walk toward their fallen comrade and just look at it until it fades away. Are the mourning their deceased friend? It's never actually explained in the game.

    2:04:43 - Awesome! You found the correct grave. As you noticed, it was a grave with FLOWERS in front of it. There aren't many graves here with that feature... probably a hint ;)
    Also, great job following Dampé on your FIRST TRY. That's not easy if you don't realize how it works. It's even more difficult if you take him up on a rematch.

      SPOILER---
      First, True that race was hard for me too and I had to do it several times before I could get through. The Second time through is MUCH harder and there's a little trick to give you a tiny bit of help. Just before Dempe takes off whip out your Ocarina and play any song. When you end the song there will be a brief moment where Dempe won't move (I can't remember if he is saying something at that time) but during that very slight delay due to the song you can quickly start to run toward Dempe and you will gain a very slight advantage in time. It is still hard but this helps a little.

      @@Rabid-Pinocchio That's an interesting trick, I was unaware of it! Was that bug available in all versions of OoT or just the 3Ds remaster?

      @@jwk427 I played it originally on GameCube. I later played in on PC with an emulator and both of those worked. I started to play the 3D version on PC/Emulator but never finished and never played the 3Ds version so while I can't be completely sure I would guess that the trick works on any platform although the most recent iteration, shrug!

    15:00 - Your search for the Temple of Time reminded be of a fun developer detail. You may have noticed that the map location in OoT are a little jumbled compared to BOTW. Nintendo regularly rearranges Hyrule to suite the needs of a given game - while also trying to keep other elements consistent. When developing BOTW, the map started out looking a LOT more like OoT. But the developers decided to swap the location of the Lost Woods and the Great Plateau so you would start out in a more central location. Even though the changes drive me a little batty, I do think this made for a better game in the end.

    57:25 - Right idea, wrong song. The way these older games (I still find it weird thinking of ANY 3D game as "old") work, you often have to try a lot of different things to find the correct random solution. There isn't much rhyme or reason why, for example, a random tree should be bombed or a different random tree should get a song. Same with these skeletons.
    EDIT - Oh, you came back and figured it out :) Yes, the light song is one of several songs worth playing in random spots for secrets. In this case, you were rewarded a fairy.

    While the game may not be open world, it has a lot of interactivity -- experiment, pick things up move them, talk to NPCs. The NPCs and quest givers will guide you -- the instructions they give are often explicit on what you need to do. Now that you have the hookshot, you can continue on. As for Getting Epona -- it's possible now, you just have to.....think like a Zelda player :) I'm confident you'll get it!

      Also remember to talk to the same person more than once, at a different time of day, or after doing something 'special'. Dialogue can change.

    You know how some Korok puzzles in BOTW weren't as obvious as others? A flower that looks different, or something that doesn't quite look right or stands out from everything else in the area? You will come across that a lot when playing Zelda games. OOT is no different. Graves that look different than the others, Lonely trees, a mark on the ground, etc. And things you already did/ people you talked to as a child are worth checking out again. A lot can change in 7 years. Think of timey wimey connections ...
    Also, some things are unlocked only during nightime.
    Sorry, trying not to spoil anything while making suggestions can be tricky 🤔

    Sir, if you don't go back to the windmill and talk to the angry music playing guy, I think the world is going to have to burn.
    If you don't go back to Lon Lon Ranch and pay to ride on Epona more and talk to Ingo while you're on Epona, the world is most definitely going to burn.
    If you don't piece together that inventory cuccoos are for waking sleeping people and that Talon is always the one sleeping, I'm going to be the one burning alive.
    If you don't spend more time prompting major characters for additional dialogues, the world is going to be pulverised by multiple asteroids larger than the ones who took out the dinosaurs.
    If you don't start tackling forward in racing mini games or chase battles, I'm going to go bald by pulling out all my hair.
    I think the problem is you aren't playing this game like a kid. You're rushing too much. Pretty much everyone as kids are so excited to ride the horses, they keep paying to ride longer, and that initiates more dialogue and scenes.
    You give up and move on too quickly and then go back and forth too much. You need to slow down and enjoy this game like a kid would, which means spam talking everyone, playing on horses for a long time, and...remembering where you've already been.
    You were literally in the same grave where you learned the Sun Song, and had 0 recognition of it when you trying to remember what song to play for freezing the mummies.
    I don't know if your memory is just really, really bad, or if you're rushing and not paying attention to anything so nothing sticks.
    Go back to the ranch and get Eponaaaa
    Fndhshwbdjxhwhdjchdbdhd
    AND TALK TO THE WINDMILL GUY, OMG YOU WALKED BY HIN SO MUCH, AND HE WAS RIGHT ----THERE-----

    Hey Scott! I am so glad that you didn’t give up. My brain is a little rusty with this game. I have to go back and play it and yeah this game doesn’t really hold your hand like BotW and TotK but it is a good game. When you went in the grave, I remembered about the windmill. Lol. Can’t wait for more videos. I am so glad you are enjoying the game!

    • @Rabid-Pinocchio
      @Rabid-Pinocchio Місяць тому

      Speaking of not holding your hand, it is a good thing that he is playing this First before Majora because playing this game will help him to 'think' like a Zelda game. Hopefully it will prepare him for Majora in terms of anticipating what to do. I think that Majora is the least hand-holding game in the entire Zelda empire.

    • @fugostrawberries
      @fugostrawberries Місяць тому

      @@Rabid-PinocchioI really don't think Majora is for Scott at all. It has barely any relation to the usual lore which seems to be his main draw to other Zeldas other than totk or botw. As you mentioned it is also the least hand-holding game and is quite punishing. The mechanic of losing progress if you don't complete a dungeon in a certain time or time quests correctly by learning the patterns I think would be a major factor in turning him away from the game. Maybe I am wrong but I don't think I would recommend it to him :(

    • @Rabid-Pinocchio
      @Rabid-Pinocchio Місяць тому +1

      @fugostrawberries I agree with you fugo except that if you're following the games chronologically then Majora would be the next step, but now that I say chronologically I guess that idea is already a non-issue. Punishing is a good word to describe Majora and I know huge fans of the series often are unable to complete it. My main thought is that if you're going to play Zelda you need to learn to 'think' like the developers and none of the games will require you to embrace the mindset of the game's developers. As for lore, perhaps you are right there but now you're also emiminating Twilight Princess and Windwaker too because their connections to the lore are tenuous at best. In any case, we'll just have to see what direction he takes. I honestly think that he'll be equipped for Majora after this quest but perhaps you're right about the lore and the difficulty of the game. Cheers.

    The magatama is a shape that shows up in a lot of Japanese media because it's based on one of the imperial regalia. If you ever play Phoenix Wright they play an important role there as well. Actually the "triforce" design is found in Japanese history as well, being the symbol of an influential clan, but that's also found other places in the world and isn't as distinct or singular in influence.
    I love the idea of Rauru watching Kid Link out there flailing around trying to wield a shield that's twice as big as he can muster and going "yeeeeah the sword ain't gonna work this is gonna take some time to bake..."
    Who is our ninja newcomer? The best character in Hyrule Warriors that's who. But hm, I wonder where Sheik was seven years ago. Any theories?
