- Comedian Charlie Berens is known for his stand up called "Manitowoc Minute" where he tells the news in a Wisconsin accent. Berens talks about leaving the local news world for comedy and people from Wisconsin`s beef with Illinois.
As a Wisconsinite, I wish more of us sounded like this guy.

No honestly most people in southern Wisconsin do not sound like this. That’s why Minnesota people say we’re from Chicago, because we don’t have much of an accent
As a long haul trucker from California I can say with no reservations the people within the borders of Wisconsin are the friendliest in the nation.

Also growing up as a kid we would vacation at the cabin in the Dells for a week and I would always make friends with kids from Chicago all the time and many Great memories. And now I come down to Wrigley for the Cubs-Brewers games, have been doing this for the last 8 yrs and everyone is friendly and nice. All the problems at Miller Park are from the Wisconsin Cub fans who start trouble at the games in Miller Park.

Lol as a Wisconsinite, I always remind fellow cheese heads and other Midwesterners that without Illinois we wouldn't have our resort vacation towns like Minocqua, Door County, Lake Geneva and The Dells. The Chicago & Illinois folks with the $$ helps our tourism. I easily have more beef w/ Minnesota and their teams. I always say FIB stand for Fellow Illinois Brethren.

I can remember back in the 70's or 80's when John Landecker on WLS radio out of Chicago had a routine on his evening radio show based on the Wisconsin character, Johnny Peshtigo, the nicest guy in the world. Coincidentally, several years later a new job took me to WI and we lived in the Town of Peshtigo and my kids went to Peshtigo schools.

In about,1969 at Summerfest I received a bumper sticker that said Don't Ill Annoy Wisconsin.

As a Michigander, I did it up until the age of 12, at which point I took a french class and the teacher very gently told me I was very much wrong.
Learned a lot of things about a lot of words in French. It's also fun to say Detroit as Day-twah (the 'correct' way to say it) around literally anybody who has ever been anywhere near Detroit, they will go bonkers, gotta sit em down on the Davenport so they can chill off.

This woman from Chicago suburbs who always wore a dress showed up to meet her friends one day, wearing a flannel shirt. It was wasn’t long after that she moved to Wisconsin. 😊

I am born and breed in Wiscoooonsin and love what you do to personalize Wisconsin. I was astonished to realize when I worked in South Dakota for a time, that the accent was real life true. The was no “th” just “da” or “ta”. Thank you for accentuating what we are!
I had a friend from Chicago who hated Wisconsin. We were in Wisconsin, driving back to Chicago from Six Flags. He said ‘We call them cheeseheads, and they don’t have a good name for us!’
I immediately said, ‘How about Chiggers?’
There was a long pause. He said ‘Don’t tell them that one.’

Speaking as a born and bred Wisconsinite it is true we don't hate Illinionians we just hate the Bears. Also I feel bad for ya'll. Wisconsin is much more beautiful and has many more lakes.
Pretty much the same for me except I'd substitute Bears for the Cubs. Illinois is pretty too.

I was glad to leave Illinois in the rear view mirror, although I really miss living 15 minutes from the Wisconsin state line.
