Wow! Like you said, there wasn’t anything ‘wrong’ with the stock pickups but, even across UA-cam the lollartrons have sooo much more fullness, richness whilst retaining clarity. Also some lovely playing, tones and effects there so the setup clearly inspires another angle of playing too which is always great. Also made me realise how the Dr Z (and QC to be fair) setup is also absolutely awesome and imo even better for you than the tone king so for what it’s worth I think this video alone demonstrates the benefit of that change! Hope you’re well mate 😊
@@AudiomoMusic Most of them got shipped, maybe six left from the original group. I had no idea how much time it would take just to arrange shipping by itself but so far it`s a very positive experience. Not only that but FedEx has not lost a single package yet and every single computer works as well. If you could use one just let me know!
There's something about the high end sweetness and clarity in the Lollar's. Also, thanks for doing the comparison using chords and riffs! It's a nice change from the shredding and solo's you hear in other gear review/comparison videos.
so long as I continue to make videos, you can rest assured there's no way i'm going to change the way i play stuff that resembles music instead of shredding and mindless blues noodling hahah. fun as that stuff can be i don't think it demos any piece of gear well at all on many levels imho
I think the only guitar tuned half step down right now is the pink strat. Kind of weird becuase there was a time when ALL of my guitars were tuned to eB and now i've gone "conventional" haha
@@AudiomoMusic Thanks, you’re very observant. 😂 I just found out about this model Tele not too long ago. Stealth move installing the Lollartrons. They have a nice punch to go with that sparkle. Congrats!
Finally caught up with this video. In the comparison at the beginning, you could definitely hear an improvement in my opinion. Great pickups indeed! 🎸🎸
Im so impressed by all the Lollars ive tried (never tried these yet though) Its actually quite rare a brand carriers as much weight as its hype, but Lollar do. Unbeatable as far as im concerned at this point.
It's weird in this day and age for any company to live up to all the "hype" but they really haven't disappointed me in the slightest with any of the pickups I've tried from them.
They sound great. Would love to get a pair of these into my Gretsch Electromatic Jet. It happens to the same gold on white, with gold pickguard. I like how they look. Filtertrons are great for rhythmn strumming, riffs. There's that bark and bite that cuts nicely. They're nice and chimey for arpeggios too, and work well with a Vox AC30.
I would also love to hear these in a big ol' gretsch. I bet they'd sound fantastic. I did use these a bit with the AC15 before we moved ( I sold it amongst other things to cut back on space ) and it really did match up perfectly
@@AudiomoMusic Ever considered a Morgan AC20 ;) I have an AC15 & AC30 that are the stereo pair in my wet/dry/wet rig. But ITB, I really like the Neural DSP Morgan AC20. If that's anything to go by, they're killer amps. And small too. Not exactly cheap though... but still I'd consider flipping my AC15 and big old too loud AC30 for one. Then have my Victory V40 as the other half of the clean stereo pair, and Marshall JTM as the dirty/dry amp
Maybe I am just imagining it, but the Lollartrons sound fuller with more mids. But there was nothing wrong with the Fidelitrons. I though that they were clear and chimey with more highs. Just depends on the EQ profile that one prefers.
I really didn't like the fidelitrons clean at all from the moment I got the guitar but thought they did a decent job with some hair on them. In the room it really was a night and day thing to me at least, which is not always the case for pickups but it really comes down to what the player wants the guitar to do too.
I have an HH blacktop jaguar and I was think of replacing the pickups to lollartrons as the current pickups are a bit muddy and really dark. I’m using the jag mainly for fingerpicking jazzy playing. Do you thing they would be a good fit? Were these a straight drop in fit for the tele?
they would do really well finger picking, they are really sensitive pickups and you could get them to drop right into that guitar - when you go to lollar's site you can pick the mounting that has the pickup ring screw placement that's the same as yours and you're all done at that point. These did indeed go right in but they are a different style of mount as they don't touch any rings and go straight into the guitar body itself
These sound killer like all lollars. Glad to see you still have the gremlin also. Great video as always thanks man
I love em, it was nice to hear the old gremlin back in action for sure thanks for watching
They sound fantastic and I can't stop staring at that Tele! Stunning guitar.
Thanks Graeme and man, it may be over the top but i love it
Love the ambient tone!
Thanks, it's grown on me over the years

It's just strange how we box ourselves into routines and habits, small changes can really impact how we play and what we play!
Great video, sounds really good!
I love em! How are you making out shipping those computers??

I've always loved that guitar, and the pickup upgrade really elevates it. 👍
(Didn't realize that you tuned this one to E, though!)

Sounds great and fantastic tasteful playing as usual. So many song parts in your demos leave me wanting to hear more.
You'll never know when you might hear them in songs and say wait i knew that one haha
Stellar. Raising the bridge pickup made a huge difference. Perfect fit with that guitar. 🎉
Glad you like it!
Love that guitar. Pickups sound awesome.
You have great taste, this was one i've wanted for years and always regretted not getting when they were new and cheap haha

I 100% agree
Got lots of Teles with lots of pup makes...Lollar Special T's are amazing. Those sound great too!!
Yep, those are my favorite regular tele pickups as well. Just awesome stuff!

Ooh, this guitars dirties up real nice, real nice! Great sounding pups but the guitar also helps, that is a nice piece!
I was really surprised how well it handles gain now, it goes from sweet to really angry pretty easily haha

Tell them I sent ya if ya didn’t already haha
@@AudiomoMusic Just ordered them and left a note about your video! I’ll let you know how my guitar ends up turning out, I’m super excited about it 🙂
Hello
Can you compare back to back Cabronita and semi-hollow Gretsch?
I do not have a Semi-Hollow Gretsch to compare it with and don't see myself purchasing one sorry
@@AudiomoMusic ok thanks
