Ty for the review! Ive preordered two of these during the current BOGO deal, says they are shipping at the end of june, i can hardly wait lol. I was looking for something that will work for both music and ht, with music being the primary use. I had my choices down to 3, a pair of skar audio 18" sdr loaded boxes, a full marty dual 18" box using either higher end skar or sundown subs, or these starke sw15's. In the end im kinda lazy lol, and the loaded skar boxes and the marty would need some decent external power and im not really ready to drop several k's on a ht receiver and dsp yet. These are a really good deal if you can catch them during a BOGO sale. I also prefer sealed for sq applications, the only thing id like more is if they were 18's but going by the REW measurements for the 15", they get pretty low. I may still try building the full marty dual 18" box later on, im more into car audio and id like to try to build a 5000 watt+ ht sub setup using car pro audio equipment, like a couple of sundown nighshade v4's pushed by a jp63 amp on a power bank just to see how many db i can get inside. It may not be very musical at all but id rattle the neighbors for sure 😊.
Hi Michael, you did a great review on the Starke Sound SW15 sub! Do you believe that a pair of Starke Sound SW15 Subs will be great for high end 2 channel music in a dedicated acoustically treated room? Do you also feel that the Starke Sound SW15 can output a great high end musical sound for 2 channel music?
Like I said on spare changes video, I'd choose the hsu uls15 MK2. Similar price, more power, xlr inputs, better output performance with a passing rating at 12.5hz and higher max spl than stark claims. With all that said though I'm sure this is still a great subwoofer, and definitely has a nicer looking driver.
HSU is about a grand + shipping and if they do go on sale its like $50. Stark runs Sales kinda like Klipsch does. Mine we $750 a piece and if I bought two then they knocked off $200. Basically covering the shipping. I ordered the SW12p so it's more than the sealed sub. $1,495 shipped....Two HSU's would be around $2,200 roughly. $700 I saved to spend on more speakers, a new receiver, or a happy wife for having to look at all these giant speakers in our living room. Maybe one day I'll force myself to move everything into a big room in the basement.....but the fridge is so close right now! Lol
@@briancardsfan That's a 2+ year old comment. HSU prices have been climbing since the pandemic. I got my VTF2-MK5 for $509/ea + the $70 s/h and now they're like $150 more than I paid. Probably still worth the extra but less of a bargain compared to before.
Great video good sir. Thinking about picking this up. What input do you plug the RCA into? Is it the subwoofer input or the L or R line in? Do you need to put the crossover knob at the highest level so it does what the receiver tells it to? Sorry for all the questions, just getting into this hobby
A ported sub, if properly designed, will outperform a sealed sub because it will have higher output (e.g., greater efficiency) and lower extension. Its physics.
You haven't heard my Punisher DIY build lol I'll bet my displacement vs your physics lol I can definitely agree that a ported sub is easier to drive however if the cabinet and sub are built correctly and powered right Its a tough match.
Buyer beware!!! Purchased 5-31, delivered 6-7, on 7-1 new price dropped by $50.00 from my price, Starke declined a price protection saying it was over 30 days? Umm I had/have in my possession for 24 days, so this company counts days when in transit...😳😳😳 Was and am not looking to return and now it's not about the $100.00, but that company and a countdown that starts at the moment of order as per the email I have in my possession. Well I do enjoy the 🔊🔊 I cannot see myself as a future customer due to this completely wrong policy. Too bad 🤷🏻♂️ so again buyer beware.
Just got my 2nd one today... my goal was dual subs....dual SW15s should be fantastic

Would have loved to see and hear more from the subwoofer.
You should buy one then, they are on Pre-Order at black friday pricing.
I thinking of getting two of these ar the pre order price of $599. Do you know of any discount codes?

Do u think it is better then the deep blue 15 than?
They are similar sonically, the deep blue has a nicer finish. If I was on a budget I would probably go Starke.

Awesome subwoofer!!!
Do you think this a better option head to head with the SVS PB Pro 1000/2000. Which would you take
I would take the Starke over those two. The PB4000 is where I would match the Starke SW15
The arendal sound 1723 series subs have xlr in and output then. Can u do a review of them also then?

It's a good thing output isn't the only metric that matters with subwoofers.
@@audioarkitekts
Same exact speaker in ported vs sealed, the ported requires less amplification to perform
I heard stark lies about there numbers do you any opinions on this?
Would you say these would outperform the SVS 2000 Pro ported
2000 ported yes, any tier above that would have the advantage
@@audioarkitekts thank you
So these would outperform
@@Guy-zt1eb the Starke SW15 would outperform the SVS 2000 Pro Ported yes.
Great video 😎
Thank you brother
