    Hi CA
Please advise as to how CA would treat a courtyard in the center of the house perimeter.
What is the process of creating a grassed area as a courtyard without CA treating it like a room with a ceiling.
Even when I draw the perimeter boundary walls and give the "courtyard" a grass area, CA still assumes everything is under 1 roof.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

You can try adjusting the room specifications. Under the structure panel, there are options for "Roof over this room" and "Floor under this room."

Is there an easy way to get to roof type definitions? Wall type definitoin was obvious where I could specify layers, material types, insulation etc. I haven't found it in X13 - what I did fine was materials under roof defaults but that doesn't seem nearly as intuitive or logical for orders of layers.

The roof does not have a roof type definition, but you can change the material within the roof specifications.

@@ChiefArchitect Thanks - I'm curious why they don't make roof types like wall types. Seems like you'd have external, core and internal components where you'd want to specify material, thickeness, order etc. exactly as you would a wall.

@@boedillard8807 That is a great idea, I will pass along your idea to our developers. Thank you!
