Pang Ung is truly one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Northern Thailand. It’s a small alpine lake hidden away in the mountains very close to Myanmar border. Often described as the most romantic destination in Thailand, green pine forest surrounds large irrigation reservoir which offers superb views all year round. In the northern Thai dialect the word "Pang" means shelter, and the word "Ung" means wetland. You may use own tents or rent from park rangers or stay at one of bungallows provided by the park. As far as I know there is no scheduled public transport to Pang Ung. I guess you have to use own transport or charter a van or something.
