I am sure people will chirp endlessly with concerns over tax accountability and car maintenance.
Itemize properly and taxes are about 13-15%. (No different than a W-2 job).
Vehicle maintenance and depreciation? An oil change takes 10 minutes. Tires and tie rods are also very quick and cheap repairs that are routine for anybody that owns a vehicle to get to their regular job. Delivery drivers get tax incentives and can claim their milage to offset that expense.
Driving around town in the comfort of your own vehicle, listening to the radio, making $15/hr. after all deductions? Sounds perfect for some people.
The big downside that people overlook in terms of benefits is health insurance and retirement savings.
Dashing takes discipline. It will punish those who don't plan ahead for a rainy day.
But, for those who go about it the right way, don't mind being exposed to the weather, and live in a market that isn't overly saturated with dashers.. working from 10am-8pm for 6 days a week, this is an entry level job that can easily pay $80k+/yr.
Its amazing to me how many people can come up with endless ways to talk about how horrible gig delivery jobs are. A little bit of work ethic goes a long ways.
Dashers can afford to buy any decent $5000 used car and drive it into the graveyard over the course of a year. Yet another tax deduction!

Im in Arizona and people are crazy out here, no sleep at all.... between midnight and 4am its crazy busy. Most Ive ever done is a 12 hour stint. Eli, I want to ask: How do you mentally prepare for a 24-hour shift like this? In fact, how do you mentally prepare for any of your high-turbo shifts? But especially one like this. And then also, how do you then reset yourself after staying awake 24 hours? I mean, how did you return to a normal routine after this?
I just went after it. I took a quick nap from 4:30-5:30am when there were no orders. Then after I finished at 8 or 9am I went straight home and slept til about 5pm 😆 🤣

Enjoy it while it lasts. This shit is borderline illegal. In fact, I think they put a 12 hour limit here in California this year just to adhere to existing laws already in place that truck drivers have been limited by for years. I think it's legally considered unsafe to drive more than 60 hours a week. But if you felt safe and awake, I think it's a fine challenge or good way to make quick money by busting your ass for a literal whole day.

🤣 that's absolute facts, McDonald's locations are always hit or miss. Typically its just smart to avoid McDonald's altogether. But under dire circumstances, it may be necessary

The dasher 'rules' change frequently.
This past week, one of them expects dashers to come inside. The shift manager will verify the delivery and hand it to you. They used to just leave the sealed bags on the counter. Simple. Grab and go. Not anymore.
The other one now just throws it through the pay window in the drive thru and gets you out of there quickly. They get all kinds of confused if you walk inside and start asking about orders.
Both are franchised and run by the same owner. Its a mystery to me?!
Next week the entire process will likely be different.. again. I am not telepathic and have no idea who wants me to do what?! As long as the food is hot and they put the right items in the right bags, I could care less.
Its a circus show they pay me to watch. Haaa.

I make 200 in 10 hours which is still good for food delivery but I also drive 3 times the distance this guy does. I literally owed like 100 bucks making 49k last year.......then again maybe some of those miles were stretched muwahahahah

He should have declined a few. Prob would've made between $50-$100 more had he declined the low paying bullshit orders. Sounds like he was in a busy area so prob couldve declined the $3-$6 orders and gotten $8+ orders immediately.

Did you buy a cheap used car to dash full time or are you using ur personal car? I started doing it and I made $350 in 14 hours but this shit will destroy my car long term. Having a 9-5 job is very underwhelming to say the least. I’ve almost got into fights at normal jobs cause no one wanted to actually work and take credit for things they never did. I can’t work a job ever again and I sleep at 5am daily hahaha

@Alex Ghitasure you can, for 12 hours right around 300 to 400 add another 12 hours and that about 3 to 400. I probably could make 200 in 6 to 8 hrs. 4hr usually about 40 to 60. So yeah you can make that in a day. I do N the same thing I just do 12 hrs shifts instead of 24 lol. I also go from city to city meaning I dash in all the cities lit up on that map, pay is typically the same. Now remember he did 24 hrs not 12hr which to some people is a day. He started at about 7 to 8 am which is a good thing. He not high he just had that bowl of cereal 🤣 you know most people not use to people who eat breakfast in the morning. My man sat down and ate lmao we grab coffee and go 🤣 he was patient not in a rush 😅 you'll get the job done and that much money but 400 in a day is not bad 😅 his tips tho 😅.

In my location I only take orders with a max distance of 3 miles, I work 5 hours a day and always make from $90-$120 a day. I’ve never been happy with my past job but with doordash I love it. Best job I’ve ever had

@@frankrollins8171 yeah work a lot of hours and you Gotta have a good market if you don’t have a good market, you will not make $1000 a week I promise you that I can guarantee you that it all depends on the day as well if nobody’s ordering and you have a low acceptance rate you will not get any orders, and even if you do they will be very slim to none. I know it’s been a year since you’ve mentioned this, so hopefully you’re doing good. Good luck.
