@@prod.levitxcus same here, im buying one soon and im excited for the revs but also for the repairs along the way
make sure you balance the rotors before you ECU tune it to rev up to 10,000 rpm and i recommend you put a "water temperature tachometer" also with a new radiator so the car doesnt overheat and leak coolant into the rotor housing. Also with buying a rx8 make sure you buy one with the lowest miles possible. @@twitchoru3745

What's the difference on the anniversary edition models?
@@nelos7519 they are different exterior and interior colors depending on the country. But the mechanicals are the same, all 40th Anniversary Edition models were only produced for one model year, 2008.

My 2005 5 Speed manual still going strong at 110k KMs. I got the money aside for a new engine from Mazda, should I need it. But by the looks of it, still has plenty of life left.

Im finna buy an rx8 and work on it that's going to be my first project car and I see a lot of ppl complaining about the engine and honestly I've had watched so many rx8 rotary sound and is so beautiful but what would be best keep the rotary engine or change it for a renesis?

The renesis comes stock in the rx8.
Okay, the renesis in the first gen rx8s are the least reliable rotary. In order to keep the engines in good health you need to premix and use 10-w30 or thicker oil. Also redline the car. I redline my rx8 everyday. Spark plugs and wires need to be replaced every 30,000 miles as well. The ignition is one of the weak points in the rx8 so upgrading it I say is a must. If u can in your area, get rid of the cat. Converter. It hinders performance plus nothing is better then seeing an rx8 shoot flames.
Renesis motors need a WHOLE LOT more care than pretty much any other engine. Remember to premix your fuel, redline it once every other day, NEVER run the car cold, never shut the car off cold.
Keep in mind the OEM starter on the gen 1 rx8 is weak and an upgrade is recommended. That and ignition system needs to be done every 20k-40k miles. Thicker oil is recommended too.
If you have emissions tests in your area you're kind of screwed because the catalytic converters get clogged easily because the engine burns oil to run

@@BONER69143 I use Idemitsu 10W-30 full synthetic made specifically for rotaries and Idemitsu racing rotary premix for obviously the premix. I redline it daily.
Im turning 16 this year but my first car is an rx8 and im trying to find body mad places but theres just not much out there sometimes
instead of buying body mods for it you should save your money and be ready for when the engine needs a rebuild.

Typically race wings are at the same level or slightly above the roof line to catch air above the car that isn’t meddled with by the cars body lines. Not that they RX-8 needs a wing like that😂

@@sums6969 true vtec is shit compared to the ssv kick and intake/exhaust ports opening on rx8s. Multiple kicks of power between 5-9k rpm and you can actually feel it too. Vtec is overrated because you still need to build the fuck out of the engine or turbo it to get it to have power. Vtec doesn't mean unlimited power it's just timing changes which makes the engine have a more aggressive power band that burns oil as if it's a rotary. Imo rotaries are fucking goated for performance. The fact that you can go 6sec or less on a drag strip with a 13b is insane to me. The power you can make out of a real rotary, not a renesis(exhaust porting fucked the performance of it) is insane. Hondas are great but ur comment is stupid cuz plenty of cars have variable timing profiles and they r faster than Hondas in stock form or modded form.

@@sirmiluch6856 yea nowhere in my comment did I direct anything towards the speed of an rx8. I said the performance of the rx8 engine was screwed (not just in power but also in reliability and aftermarket modification) by the exhaust porting required to keep the rotary emission compliant. Any car can be fast is you build it properly. Rx8s are about driving experience, handling, and smoothness. I think I'd know considering I've owned one for over 6 months now and driven on long road trips from Florida to NJ and constantly going up and down the state of Florida. I love my rx8 but I'd trade it in a heartbeat to get my 1986 mr2 back.
