I made your recipe for the Soft Hamburger buns tonight. We were having smoked sausages but I didn't have any buns on hand and didn't want to go to the store. So, I made yours. I formed them into hot dog buns, brushed the tops with milk and sprinkled with coarse salt before baking. They were fantastic! My go-to for when we need hamburger or hot dog buns. They taste so much better than the store bought bread. Thank you!

Kudos to Peter for making something that he is not a fan of and still trying it! Also, I have a list of everything that is in the freezer. I do it by shelf, and cross it out when I remove something to use it. I am an empty nester now with only one freezer, but I did this even with kids an a couple of freezers. I try to do it with my canned goods as well. This way when I am chosing a recipe, I shop in my cabinet before I rebuy the same thing again. Thx for your videos .always great!

I like to plan a menu just so that I have a jumping off point for the times that I can't or don't want to think about what to make, when I do it I have a variety of meals to accommodate our schedules, like easy meals for nights we get home late or have to run out the door, meal that I can take to work with me so that I am buy out. This helps me to us to not order out more than we plan for the budget and to remember to put in some of the families favorite meals that might get overlooked. Peter I know that you did not like the fries but you could probably do them with regular potatoes and enjoy them that way. That is great that you are learning to cook, you never know when it will serve you or someone else because you learned to cook at least some basics in life.

I enjoy seeing you cook and I also enjoy and understand how sometimes your menu plan doesn't go exactly the way you expect it to sometimes you need a more hurry up dinner and you can make it with the same ingredients are part of the same ingredients that you planned on for the day or the next day and get yourself out of a big pickle. Here in Ohio its sloppy joes at least in the two different areas I've lived in in my lifetime and as far as cooking out or barbecuing or grilling it could be called any of the above. Barbecue sandwiches here are usually shredded beef or pork with a barbecue sauce

Years ago, maybe 30 years ago, a church lady called and ask me to make “Wimpy” for a church function, I said sure but needed a recipe I had never heard of such a thing! It’s actually ground beef, chopped onion and chopped celery with the cheapest ketchup you can buy, no measurements just till it look right. Cook it all together and let it simmer. I have made it for family gatherings, school staff treat days and never make enough or have leftovers. I never make a batch less that 5 pounds of ground meat.

    HELLO JENIFER👋.
Here in Indiana we called that sandwich a Sloppy joe. In Illinois with no ketsup that is a loose meat sandwich. A Barbecue is when you cook any meat & add barbecue sauce. When we grill out we call that also a barbecue or a cookout or grilling out. LOL yes it is funny how each region of the United States has their own wording.. GOD BLESS from Julie West Central Indiana Farmland ✝️🇺🇸😊🚜

I was getting my garden seeds ordered this weekend and it caused me to go to my freezer/store room to see how we were coming on in usage of my canned goods and frozen goods from last summer to see what we have already finished or what we still have lots of. It caused me to adjust my sides on my weekly meal plan and it also gave me lots of ideas for baking too :) Also wanted to share that I made your Savory Chicken Sandwich recipe this past week and we loved it, so easy and so tasty!!

That is strange, because I grew up in WI, and I have only ever heard people call those Sloppy Joes, and we always say an outdoor cookout is a BBQ. I was confused when we moved South and people referred to BBQ and they meant the food, not the event!

I’ll need to try ……..I love sweet potato fries….so great job Peter they looks yummy! Hi Joe lol….he is growing so fast….missed Maria in this one ….

Everything looks so good! You made me want to bake sandwich buns...it's been such a long time since I've made them. I love the herbed variety!
Peter's sweet potato fries look so good~~yum! I'll take an order to-go. ;)
I remember growing up I was confused by the barbeque thing. My Mom made a sandwich which was made with ground beef and Manwich or Sloppy Joe sauce and we called them 'sloppy Joe'....She made another sandwich which was made with shredded pork or beef simmered in a barbeque sauce, which we called "barbeque sandwiches".
The more confusing thing to me was when people called a "cook out" a "barbeque". Idk why it messed with me. lol It's pretty much the same thing. If we're throwing food on a grill we invite people over for a cookout.
We could get into the same discussion with "yard sale", "rummage sale", "garage sale". lol I think it's mostly what you grow up calling things or what its called in your local area. (Here, we have "yard sales" and "cookouts". LOL)

I grew up in California. We always called "grilling out" bbq's and what you refer to as bbq we call sloppy joes. It took me awhile to catch on and remember that when you say bbq...you mean sloppy joes. We live in the midwest now, and some things are called differenlty here than we know from being in CA. We always say soda, whereas midwesterners say pop.

Question, you are always baking and seem to run out of common baking needs often sugar, oil, flour. Why don’t you buy bigger bags or quantities?
