Windtrace is a limited event gamemode in Genshin Impact allows players to hide and seek or like playing prop hunting. In version 4.6, wintrace is back with new features and prevent players to afk the entire game by hiding in unreachable or secret spot.

It is fun when I am a hunter and I select the same character as one of the rebels. It makes them second-guess themselves.

Is there a glitch there too? There were two players who somehow avoided capture when i was a hunrer in that area.
@@yabrofenko its probably lag, i have 200 ping usually and i lag on other people's screens (i'm further away from them than they see on their screen)

I definitely like this version better as rebel. Back then we just sit there and hope the hunter won't notice.
Now we actually have something to do as rebels.
it was fun to distract hunter from teammates by running all around a map in the first (and second?) version when hunter didn't have an infinite stamina but yea now if not for this new mode you just sit somewhere and pray hunter won't notice you
It also make the game mode more balanced. Previously, the dawn winery map was a very difficult map for hunters to win. But now, since Rebels have to fix the devices, they can't just change into the small lamp and hide on top of the building.
Similar case for other maps which used to be favored towards one side, but now are a coin toss.

I always pick Imprisoning Curse as a hunter for the exact same reason lol. Even went as far as play Charlotte and had Furina as the last rebel. Of course I bombarded her with questions for the ENTIRE duration.
Today, I used it, but I didn't remember where the guy was and I was like : oh here you are 😂
I don't use that because I can never find the rebel lol
@@28jes91 small tip. Use it when the very last rebel tries to fix a device. Easy way to find them that way. Or go to a high point in the map before using it.

One thing I find curious about Windtrace: why do Hunters *never* look up?
As a hunter, i also always look up
However... There has to be something else . All the time i was playing windtrace, all revels are smol characters. -_-

windtrace is great, but would be better if a simple hide and seek.
still, in genshin, i'd prefer a true pvp over any pvp mini game. it's a game where we fight tons of ennemies. they could simply use the excuse of a sparring match to make duels. as for newbies vs veteran, they could simply use the world level to judge if a player can fight another. i wouldn't do it nonstop, but in a temporary event? sure, i'm in. plus, even if we lose one could learn a thing or 2 about it. if they face a char they own, they might be interested in their opponent's build. likewise, they might reconsider how they saw their opponent's char and start using it as well.
if anything, they might even do a pvpve, where players try killing more mobs then their opponents. i'd prefer that anytime to, say that pvp mini game we got during the last lantern rite.
Ye and I even hope spiral abyss won't stop at 12 floor but have more or endless floor like the other games. I'm sure some hobbyists would challenge the records and give some even more amazing results. Just imagine seeing someone one shot a level 500 enemy.
@@Mush3064 well, spiral abyss is supposed to change soon and with wuthering waves, even more change are about to be done, now that hoyo finaly have rivals, for genshin's market. who knows. your wish for genshin may come true.
hoyo don't have much choice, in the matter, with wuwa coming soon. i already wrote something about this in the comment section of another video. msot of what i'd say next would be pretty much the same thing, so to save time i'll just copy paste it.
"i'll play both wuwa and genshin. from my point of view, one won't kill the other. wuwa seems more then promising. meanwhile, although genshin have it's flaws, wuwa will force hoyo to change that.
genshin is currently hoyo's biggest source of cash. so far they had no big rivals for this game. wuwa will change that. hoyo won't let their source of revenue go away without trying. genshin's next update is already a step in the right direction. wuwa will force hoyo to better their game even more though.
i don't wish for wuwa to kill genshin, nor do i wish it to fail. otherwise, if genshin is no more, wuwa could get in the same state as genshin, since it wouldn't have competitors anymore, just like genshin before wuwa. without one the other wouldn't have much reason to improve nor to please their players. likewise, with both games competing against one another, they'll try their best to gain players, but also not to lose them. to try their best to please the player base.
genshin didn't have to worry about that, but now it does. they didn't have to please the player base nor to make their game better. all they had to do was adding content. to maintain the game alive. not changing their ways will make more and more players prefer wuwa over genshin."
I remember getting ready to run. Fell in that hole and got caught i was so salty
7:26 to 7:27 even I had moments where I had a rebel dead to rights in my circle and did not catch them. I am giving windtrace a HEAVY dissatisfaction review when the survey comes around.
This windtrace is just as fun as the last one. People just don't like change.
i see there is a time between u appear in the jail and the time the jail shut i try to get fast enough to escape but as always we can't repair machines...

I was lagging and when I got sent to the surveillance zone, I started running immediately and was out of the zone before I was supposed to be
In Diluc's map. Me being the hunter I finished the match in just 12 seconds by just going to the back and all three rebels were in the same place 1 tried to hide but he was still close enough. It was fun.
What server are you on? I may have been one of those 3 as I was the one that ran. I think I was using Yaoyao or Nahida. I got a whole 20 coins.
For the liyue map I got 999 pinged as hunter but reloaded and got favor. Proceeded to catch all 3 within 20 seconds

@@jatnieljimenez9725 Also NA server and I don't recall the other characters used. I just know when I saw the hunter close on the mini map I tried to book it. Saw the alert for the others getting caught, tried using transparency but couldn't lose the hunter.

My identity v skills definitely helped in here since the gameplay is somewhat similar
there is no escape when I'm the hunter not only I am using the camera view a lot, and I use my human vision as well. also I utilize controller only on both windtrace and story mode so that I could just move a lot faster.
My ping is so low so when i get captured and get put in the blue capsule i can run out before it locks me in and the hunter cant get me for 19 seconds lol
there's one time that i'm the only person who select the different character, they all select arlecchino. and one of them is a hunter. so when the other rebel run towards me and help me fixing that thing (sorry i dont know what it called in english), he freak me out. i keep running and hiding, and then i realize he's the rebel... that makes me look dumb 🥲 i even thought "what tf is he doing? why is he not chasing me?" while he's just staying there and doing his job 😭
Once had a rebel game where i used Qiqi and the Hunter is Cyno...somehow, i evaded detection by being right below him...i guess being a Hunter has its own pressures...

Windtrace noob here. The only one match I won as a hunter was when two players hiding on the same hillitural rooftop. It normally would work but somehow I suddenly felt like to climb tree and saw them right next to me. Surprisingly, non of those two saw me as I jumped and glided towards them. I played this for 2 days but haven't won a single match as Rebel lol.
Yo it took me till 1:42 to notice but sir (or madam/ other pronoun) you have excellent music taste, calimari inkantation REMIXED TO PERFECTION
Using tall male characters as hunter have a great advantage as they run faster especially qith unlimited stamina. A lot of hunters i met didnt apply this merit 😂
