imo Villa are using Rashford, Asensio, Disasi.
We sold players that the manager wanted rid of that upset the dressing room atmosphere if paper talk is to be believed for high fees being January. Have loaned in players who have a better track record until the summer (netting 60m+ on the transfer business) with players who know how to win in Europe.
In the summer we properly replace Diego Carlos, Duran, Philogene and maybe Buendia when fees for players are lower and clubs are more willing to negotiate, maybe to get the same players back in permanently if they do well or maybe someone else.

I think Rashford has had more than enough chances to be honest. Every new manager was an opportunity to step up but he’s not done that. Hopefully he’ll perform well and not just at the beginning but over a long period of time
A really great and well balanced conversation guys. I think the move has the potential to be brilliant for both sides. Personally, I think Rashford will follow Emery's advice and he'll improve. He'll probably get to the point of starting matches in the next 1-2 months, and I think he'll score 6+ PL goals by the end of the season.

@mariamdaniels8907 who knows? Maybe they have a personality clash, or Amorim doesn't understand how Rashford works and therefore can't direct/educate/coach him in how to work in the way he wants.
I'm hoping Rashford get left alone by the media whilst he's with us, he needs to just play his football in peace

Malen will play up front on Sunday. Rashford will start behind him, possibly off the right. When Watkins is fit again he'll start and Rashford will be rotated among the 3 players ("10"s) behind him (Asensio, Bailey, Malen, Ramsey and Rogers). Three positions, 6 players to rotate the minutes between across FAC, CL and PL. That's my guess.
It's not about getting the best out of Rashford for Emery. It's about putting him in a position and a style of football that gives him the chance to do his best. If that happens it's up to Rashford to give his best. Amorim was never going to do that with his system and formation. Rashford's skills and talent were never suited for Amorim's system and formation. Emery's are closer to what Rashford will need to impress. Now, it's up to Rashford.

its a win win for us, if he doesnt play well we have made a gamble and it hasn't paid off and united foot the bill with dealing with him after. if he's class then we get an elite attacker which will help us this season and then we get the decision to keep him on for a discounted rate
This thing about focus being on Rashford, he's a loan player, there's no commitment to buy him. This "attention" will be batted to the side very easily. The squad aren't going to be unsettled by Rashford, he's not a twat, he's very well liked as a person. The only bad outcome is if he stinks the place out for 4 months performance wise we'll have wasted £4.25m on his wages

@@TheArtOfWarStrategy thats from us going years without being successful. Most utd fans are still under the illusion that they are still in the fergie era. Because they have experienced it. Most villa fans have never had those experiencies, so we see things differently. I cant see utd being a major force for many years, so those experiencies will gradually be erased over time and they will end up being just like us villa fans.

Surely Rashford is only going to be backup for Watkins after Duran was sold? We already have Ramsey and Tielemans playing on the left, as well as McGinn filling in from time to time. If Rashford does get a chance at Villa, and proves himself to be a consistent goal scorer, then maybe Rashford will be brought in permanently for the quoted £40M, and Villa will possible then sell an aging Watkins in the summer and turn a profit? However, I'm not really expecting much from Rashford, and I suspect his playing time will be limited at Villa, and he'll go back to Man Utd at the end of the season.

Step up in Mgr? What happened to professionalism irrespective of who the manager is? Have we forgotten that he had his best ever season under ETH, then fell off a cliff after that one season. That says it's a player issue, not a manager issue. Players should want to get the best out of themselves.

Overhyped Amad Diallo will soon be added to the list if nothing changes at Man United.
Di Maria did good at Yanited tbf just some off field issues made him want to leave quite frankly and obviously there's Zlatan but he's just different gravy.

And these two 'big name' signings preferably play in that kind of position. As does Barkley, not that Emery has been playing him there. At least he didn't get his beloved Felix, can't see how that pricey lightweight was any kind of answer.
Duran improved, Tielemans improved, arguably Cash & Digne. Along with Rodgers that’s 5 first teamers who start if fit. Ramsey is also starting to look like his old self and the loan signings are all clever when you consider PSR. Duran was never going to stay and we made £60M, £20M for Philogene was great business and we only paid £15M for Rodgers. Still a work in progress but hopefully we stay in all 3 comps now.
@tonyd1874 digne has been out best defender but no good at free kicks, tielemans has been going missing too many times in the last couple of months, Ramsey was already a good player before Emery came into the club, as for Duran Emery couldn't handle him and did nothing to stop him leaving and Bailey's gone backwards and needs dropping.
I hope he performs well this season, but I still wouldn't sign him, he'll just be playing for a contract like Sterling,

Rashford was Glazers undroppable poster boy for so long….even when playing sh*t and acting unprofessionally he was selected. That made it impossible to motivate him. I don’t think the fact Amorim called him out for having a bad attitude and his life being all wrong outside of football is anything to do with his quality as a manager either.

Fella Rashford is a failed talent, as I've said he has flashes but his overall game is trash. He does not have the mentality to be an elite player. That is his biggest issue and will always hold him back.

got you to a european final and finished 5th in his first season immediately after wenger - arteta then spent a load of money and only matched 5th place in his third season (still no european final btw)
