Nice tribute Carl. Well done! Still miss those concerts. Hard to believe it's been 17 year since I saw the band perform. Lucky to have so many of Maynard's recordings from the 50s to the end. And lucky to have seen you in the section several times.
As a trumpet player I was so impressed with Maynard's ability. Especially, that he could play "Hot Canary" on the octave of a violin. the instrument that made that piece so memorable.
