I've been doing this for 208 hours now. Over 8952 curries with 1170 encounters... I will never give up, though. Edit: I got a curry shiny Abomasnow after 14031 curries, 2029 encounters and 334 hours! Victory!

The only problem is I'm french so I don't know if my pokemon are best friends with each other or not, they seem really close ("Atomes crochus", "Se font confiance") but the massages are different from the english version and I've made many curry without a single encounter, do you know what the problem may be ? So you need Pokballs? Explains why I wasn’t getting any. I was trying to get these as part of a no pokeball collection, but I guess they don’t count. Since you need pokeballs to catch them.
No. You cannot get shiny curry Pokémon in the Wild Area/CT/IoA, which is the only place friends can visit you. Either way you cannot get Pokémon to visit you in NPC camps either.

No, even if they are in your bag they just won't be used at all, so don't worry about them being in your bag.

You can have any amount of any ball in your bag. Curry encounters will only use the three balls listed, though.
